Thanks for this explainer! Definitely learned somethings about the springs inside and the different variants. I've just had two of these restored. One is identical to the grey dial in the video on the right, and it has my dad's initials engraved on it. The other one looks identical to the date only blue dial you showed for a second, and that has grandpa's initials on it. I gave that one to my dad for his 70th.

Good advice on storing the bell spring with tension. I have several and one has a weak spring. Makes a big difference on the bell volume.
