    I appreciate VPI and PH doing the entire interview in English even though it sounded like they were struggling with the words at some points. Us Anglophones are so used to the rest of the world catering to our language we forget that's it's not a very easy second language to learn.

    I never knew of Blood Chalice's existence until this interview. Thanks for the introduction. I agree that black metal needs to return to the days of old. The events taking place will help black metal and metal in general to return to the time when people went to concerts to head-bang, not stand around with their cellular phones taking pictures. Great Interview. If you can get Lord Angelslayer for a 20 minute interview it would be extraordinary.

    Are tattoos cheap in Europe/Scandinavia? I always see so many black metal artist inked head to toe and wonder how they afford that. I’ve been to many shows and know firsthand how much of a grind it is for these bands to squeeze some money out of this music. Obviously most have day jobs but even then a really solid quality sleeve can cost anywhere from 4-6k here in the states. This guy has his entire upper torso inked I can’t imagine the price of that.

    • @RautaMetal
      @RautaMetal  6 лет назад +4

      I guess they are cheaper then because I can't imagine a sleeve costing like 4-6k, but then againI dunno anything about solid quality, I guess. My tattoos, for example, with friend discount, have all in all costed like a few hundred euros and I have like 9 tattoos all in all, albeit much smaller than with this guy. But yeah, day jobs is something that most metalheads in Finland has.

      @RautaMetal  6 лет назад +2

      I just love German accent. It's one of my favorites. Been since Arnold (albeit being of Austrian origin) basically made it so well-known already in early 80's.
      If you'll watch my reviews long enough you're sure to bump into my imitations of German, Swedish, Polish, Russian etc. accent attemps. Poor as such, but not to be taken too seriously! :-)

    • @RautaMetal
      @RautaMetal  6 лет назад +3

      Rally or ralley English is this (sorry, in Finnish only): fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rallienglanti
      I don't know who coined that term, but in effect it got its meaning from famous Finnish rally drivers speaking English in interviews. I'll get you some links below:
      Markku Alen is one of the most famous Finnish rally drivers and I think he's the reason why it's called rally English. You should be able to notice the difference between accents of him and mine:
      ruclips.net/video/hig4MyIOrmo/видео.html
      Also, Mika Salo, a famous Formula 1 driver has the same accent:
      ruclips.net/video/OCayI7FQZJQ/видео.html
      Mika Häkkinen, yet another famous Finnish Formula 1 driver, doing the same:
      ruclips.net/video/jPRBj3-Ilvs/видео.html
      Kimi Räikkönen, maybe the most infamous interviewee of the Finnish drivers:
      ruclips.net/video/xZlNB8ucT9o/видео.html
      You get the idea even if you listen to a few words from these sporty gentlemen :)

    Do Finnish people not have as good of English as Norwegians/Danes/Swedes? Or is it just these guys? I’m so used to Scandinavians having better English than Americans!

      Also we have a horrible accent, so there's that. I think scandinavians have a better inclination to English, because their own language is much softer/flowing (like English), than Finnish.

      You have to understand that Swedish/Danish/Norwegian are Germanic languages like English (hell there are even a good number of Norse-origin words in English, thanks to Danish and Norwegian vikings colonizing England). We have similar vocabulary, sentence structure, cognates etc. And as a result, Scandinavians (meaning Swedes, Danes, & Norwegians) have very little difficulty learning and picking up English.
      The Finnish language on the other hand, is a completely different animal. Not only does it bear absolutely no similarity to the Germanic languages in any way, it’s not even an Indo-European language. It’s a Finno-Ugric language, which is completely different to the Indo-European language family
      *note* All European languages with the exception of Finnish, Estonian, and Hungarian, are Indo-European; even the Slavic and Celtic languages are Indo-European.
      As a result, it’s much more difficult for a Finnish person to learn English because it’s a completely different language family to his own.

Blood, incenses, candles and bones make the journey into the deeper self-awareness more efficient and help to set my mind in the altered state. I'm also releasing huge amount of boiling hate and rage from my core so it needs the proper enviroment."

      I love black metal - the intensity, atmosphere, & musicianship; but the philisophy behind the more 'Satanic' bands should only be laughed at, as it relies on individuals' reactions to a cohesive & ordered universe held together by powers beyond oneself.
      For an individual to say there is no higher power, that would mean he is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent in all of reality, physical and metaphysical. God himself. This is exceedingly easy to disprove - a part is not the whole. Logically, it never can be. The mystery left is the intent of the person claiming this, something that only he knows consciously (or subconsciously if an objective inner monologue has not been sufficiently developed).
