yum! looks so good! i can't wait until it warms up enough here (and i can go shopping to get the veggies) to go outside and barbecue... i just batch cooked six quarts of beans that would go perfect with that... maybe i'll slice up some onions and grill them too. 🤔 if it's still cold and raining, i'll have to get creative with my griddler. watching you scoop the eggplant innards out of their skin reminded me of the last time i made baba ganoush, i wrapped a tray of eggplants with parchment to roast them to keep the skin from getting tough and then ground the skin with the fleshy part, it turned out great... a strange gray color but tasted great. 😅 thank you for giving me some more ideas and a video that made me smile. stay safe and healthy!

I will be trying this!! I made the bar b q steak mushrooms last night and they were amazing! I wish I could post a pic in the link! I went live on Facebook and I demonstrated how to prepare them as you did using 2 cast iron skillets! They were absolutely amazing!
You can serve them up as-is...just like a BBQ chicken breast or other main entree. You can also pull or shred them and serve them on bread or a squishy roll like a pulled pork sandwich.
Love all the ideas and looking forward to making some tomorrow. Just curious, what do you serve with these as sides at your bbq. I have homemade baked beans and a zesty fruit salad, but would love some other ideas for a 100% vegan bbq that I can convince omni friends and family that a cruelty free bbq is not just animal friendly and cruelty free but freaking delicious. I always add your pulled king oyster mushrooms to our bbq (it was this recipe that convinced my “never eating that rabbit food” to give up pork, so thank you!). as the meat eaters do not realise there is no meat and I do not make them aware (we always just call it pulled pork). I always roast my green cabbage in the oven, never thought to add to the bbq. I’ll bet cauliflower steaks with a spicy bbq sauce would be amazing as well. But I just adore the look of the red cabbage steaks in the grill! You have inspired me to try a variety of veg on the grill. I am an American living in Scotland...if we waited for lovely weather to have a bbq, we would never have a bbq or maybe just once or twice a year lol, so we bbq all year round but built a cover over the bbq to stop the rain from getting in lol. But as I say I coukd really use some ideas for the sides with these gorgeous bbq veg steaks. Thanks so much!
