As the mother of two grown kids, I loved the banter between you two. It's always funny when it's not my own two tossing the shots back and forth. Great video, Mike!
I think for me watching this is how humbled you are with an honest insight yet remaining focused all the way through. I genuinely wish you prosperity in your coming years and congratulations for getting the credit you clearly deserve 🤙
Really enjoyed your video and that you Thomas and Nick were chosen, Rightly so! So many photographers on You Tube give up or fizzle out, but you have shown that opportunities can appear from nowhere. You deserve all of this. well done Mike.
I lived in Andalusia Spain for 4 years, back in the 70s...in Rota, which is near Seville. It was the most impactful and life forming time of my life. That area of Spain is absolutely beautiful and rich with photographic opportunities.
Brings back good memories. Seville and southern Spain is what got me into street photography 7 years ago. It’s the perfect place for street as the light is stunning and the people and buildings are beautiful. ❤
towards the middle of the video when you were in your hotel just trying to piece together how you got in that exact position being paid to literally do what you want, you designed your life that way with the years you have been putting into this consistently thru all the ups and downs you deserve all of this and more brotha! this video gave me massive inspiration to continue going on my journey even when the going gets hard, great video congrats on everything, cheers to more success and blessings
Congratulations on the deserved recognition of your work by the Andalusian Tourist Board and the great images taken during your stay. What great motivation to push on with your next projects and ambitions. Looking forward to continuing to follow your journey.
Sublime. I will be watching this again and again. It is nice seeing things thru your eyes. And some scenes that I would simply walk thru without recognizing their inherent beauty (the empty airport terminal, the gorgeous tiles in the fountain with the water droplets rippling in the water)-you saw the potential, and realized it. Beautiful.
I too spent some time in Malaga and the surrounding areas (Seville, Ronda, Córdoba) in January of this year, and fount it to be such an inspiring place for a photographer. Some of my most favourite images came from this trip. Congratulations on a job well done, and I hope that you continue along this inspiring route for us non-RUclipsrs and amateurs alike!
Hi Mike...Liverpool Kev Here again..Just loved your 'Pinch me' Video....After cancer 10 years ago after being pushed to to do a comedy gig on my very first cruise on P&O.... in front of 2000 people..I got work on several ships...working on different cruise lines and literally every minute was like you felt...You genuinely deserve the attention and critical praise Mike.....I have wished you well for Christmas...Churlish not to take the chance to do so again...All the best Liverpool Kev
The rain in Malaga brought back memories. Our first time abroad with our kids was two weeks in Andalucia. I was so glad I scheduled a full day at Alhambra in Granada. In the middle of the day, we had hours of torrential rain. A shopkeeper said it almost never rained like that. The rain in Spain falls mostly on us. Enjoyable video to watch for photography and memories.
Mike ...Liverpool Kev here...I watch your videos and appreciate and learn from them...thank you...I drove to London with a sleeping bag in 1980 and worked in The City for over 25 years so love your London Videos...My Mum and Dad moved to near Maldon when I was 16 ( I am 65 now) so I loved your recent Maldon shots....Happy Christmas Mike ...look forward to your videos in 2024...All the best and thanks again...Liverpool Kev
Great video and photography!!!! PS: Don't sell yourself short. You earned the right to be there through the hundreds of hours spent creating, editing and posting your videos. You belong at this table!!
Congrats! I'm so happy for you. I am from Andalucia and it is amazing to see you around taking photographs. I remember that the day I found your RUclips channel, saw the kind of photographs you take and heard the way you reflect about the whole process I thought that you would be one of the photographers people would study in the future. That is why it doesn't surprise me that you are part of this project, well deserved!
Lovely documentary - I've been watching your YTs for 2 years (?) now - they keep getting better. I look forward to your images in 2024. Happy New Year!
This is my absolute favourite video from you man. I loved every minute and you took SUCH nice shots. Such good footage from JP too. Well done Mike, honestly this is huge! Ps. Mike Chudley, Nick Carver and Thomas Heaton in one location is an absolute feast for the eyes!!
Congratulations Mike!! So pleased for you and it's really great to see that your talent in being recognising in this amazing way. I absolutely love the style of images that you created on this trip. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Sshhh😊!! One of the most beautiful parts of Spain ! Is on my travel bucket list what a adventure!!! 😢Love the pictures the mix of street, urban design and documentary photography! Your black and whites in Seville were superb!!!!!
Great video.. and congratulations. Well deserved recognition and I am sure more to come, as you’re putting in the work for years, keeping positive, and doing it with consistency - pretty much the secret to success in anything in life.
Ah, I had a week long trip through Spain in 1977…Madrid to Malaga. Seville, Granada, Cadiz. The Alhambra was magnificent. Shot with a little Kodak 110 camera!
Wow, that place looks like a dream! Definitely added to the long list of travel destinations. Really nice video as well. Feels like your true personality is starting to show through. Nice to see ✌🏼.
James, this colab between you and Mike Chudley was awesome, huge congrats, 10 out of 10.. really hope to see many more like it - and hey, would be awesome to see you both come hang out in Sydney for a week or two in 2024.. VIP tour on me any time you guys rock up here.. cheers, @dez_blanchfield
At 18.09 I simply had to write you guys and commend you for your excellent video until then! I moved to Spain years ago and did Andalusia from 1992 until now. I simply cannot get enough of the place. With Seville being the crème de la crème of visits for shoots. I am 60 but I can still learn and you showed that. I have to beg something thou’ I really want to get into Leica cameras and am really interested in the 2 versions ( I believe you used ) you used in Malaga. Can you share some expertise with us, please. I watched your video twice but could not work out which but learned about shadows and shades in black and white from your explanation Ironically, my son is into street photography and shadows is his thing. ( The b&w image with a person on a bike turned upside down was amazing as well as the room in the lobby of the hotel in Malaga! ) Looking forward to more of your stuff and that Leica model, please. May thanks. Adios!
Well done. 1 of 10 from a global choice of thousands. Congratulations. I'm looking forward to delivery of your book in the next day or so. Keep doing what you're doing.
Congratulations on the recognition of your work, it is more than deserved. Actually, the first of your videos I ever seen was Valencia Streephoto and fall in love with you way to see photography and your ability to comunicate it.Looking forward to continuing to follow your journey.

interesting... i saw you on Roman Fox channel and you said your photography is all about subject, not light... so funny how you were waiting for light in this vid. Light is always the most important .. because its there in every photo.. sun ,rain , cloud, snow... even night time.. photography is about light.
This was so awesome to watch! Congratulations on everything you've accomplished mate. 100k subs is just around the corner. I need to book a trip to Andalucia 😯

How did you deal with fomo travelling with just the Leica Q2 (especially on assignment)? I've got 2 holiday trips upcoming and I'm trying to convince myself to take just a 35mm prime even though I just bought a new 70-200 for the trips :/
I used the q2 and Fujifilm x100v. I don’t like longer focal lengths for street, simple answer really haha
AH! The Leica Q2.
Does this camera have interchangeable lens and what lens did you use / would you recommend for all round street shoots..?
( I imagine 35mm…correct?)
The q2 is a 28mm, great for all round street! I love the 28 or 35mm focal length.
Great video again! 👍🏻 your homepage looks great is it squarespace?
Looking good - great video!
Thanks Tom!
Great video Mike. Out of context question, what Carharrt jacket is that you’ve got on?
