    I'm making a beautiful, soft, scarf with some lovely silver Turkish yarn using this pattern. The result will be a perfect balance of beauty and practicality. One possibly useful variation: I begin and end rows with two dc stitches, giving me a more substantial edge. Thank you!

    I've been looking for something different to make a blanket for my Mum. This fits the bill. It looks like a relatively fast pattern. Thank you very much for the clear demonstration.

    • @MaggieTD
      @MaggieTD Год назад +1

      @@dellagarettshaw2684 I'm terrible, I usually guess. I chain the amount that looks enough knowing it'll stretch a little when finished and I'll add a few extra. So far my guessing has worked out well apart from one blanket which was massive and I decided not to continue with it. It also depends on the size of the hook and wool thickness. Hopefully someone can give you more accurate advice. Enjoy your crochet project 🌷

      Here is how to calculate how many chains you need.. it's seems daunting but once you figure it out, it's so helpful.
      Make exactly what she does in the video(s) she makes one pattern repeat.
      Measure the length of your swatch.
      If you want the blanket 45 inches (or whatever your measurement system) you divide 45 inches by your swatch (let's say it's 3 inches) so that would equal 15 pattern repeats. Here's where it can get confusing, let's say your swatch requires requires 16 chains (don't worry about any of the plus how evermany yet) take your total pattern repeats (15) and multiple by the required chains (16) so 15 times 16 equals 240... now you add the number of extra chains (let's say 2) so for a 45 inch blanket you would need 242 chains
      ETA, these where not the numbers for this video, it was an example

      @@dellagarettshaw2684 I see here in the tutorial there are 26 stitches chained. I'd multiply that until you get your required width needed for your blanket.

    Hook Size is way to small very difficult to follow. For TUTORIAL PURPOSES use a 5mm or a 6mm Hook that way it would be much easier to see 👀 what you are trying to accomplish 😉
