    Great review and I love that you are replying to everyone. I had to pause once a while though because the text went by too fast. Hope you do voiceovers soon.
    I’m going to pick up the S7 to replace our roomba 980. I’m slightly concerned about the object detection versus the S6 as our 980 often gets socks or cords tangled.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Hey Michael, thanks. The S7 is better if you have a mixed surface or want a self-emptying system as the S6 MaxV is not compatible with one. The S6 MaxV also can get socks and cords tangled if those are in its blind spot which happens. The S7 also recognizes objects but not the small ones.

    Shorter and more thorough and detailed than any other robovac reviewer. Love your videos.
    I have the S7 since a week, and I'm hearing like a suction from the water pump but the water tank is empty and it's not on mopping mode. I hear this for about 3 or 4 sec, every random amount of time here and there (like every 1min or 5min, random), have you had this on yours by any chance?
    Also I saw Robot Masters showcased that the S7 when a door was closed near to where it was vacuuming before and now you want to vacuum that room, it would go there even though the door was closed before. I tried this and worked, but most of the times it doesnt, it's quite unpredictable as well.
    I thiiiink (still need to try out) i know why....:
    This only works when the door is closed and it's vacuuming a bit far from it, like the case Robot Masters tried, which was a zone clean 2 or 3meters away from that closed door. If the door is closed and you are vacuuming the whole room not just a zone, then it will "re-draw" the limits of that room (the one being vacuumed) and will think the door is a wall and that's why later on, when you try to vacuum the room that was closed before, it wont go because now it thinks it has a wall and not a door.... Anyway just a theory, will try it out later today :D

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +2

      Thank you😊 I didn't notice the noise caused by the water pump while it works on vacuuming mode, probably I should try to run it on quiet mode and listen if there is any noise from the water pump. Yeah, I think you are right about how it works when the door is closed. When it updated the map and draws a "wall" where the door is located, it won't go there. Next time when you run it again nearby the opened door, it will update the map and you can send it to this room as usual.

    Thanks for the great video. Immediately clicked when I see the cat thumbnail. I live in a mainly hardwood floored apartment with two cats. So picking up cat hair and stray litter is very important to me which many other reviews don’t touch on. Really appreciate the informative video and love your easy side by side presentation. Definitely getting the S7. Though I think I need to look out for small cat toys before run due to the higher sensor, overall it suits my need better. Hoping for discount on Black Friday or holiday season.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      It does pick up things well, the best among all Roborocks I tested and one of the best compared to other high-end models. And yes, since I have cats, the toys are everywhere, I would pick the up so the robot doesn't get stuck on one of these.

    The fact the S7 cleans in a "#" makes it much more through than the S6.
    All robots should be able to criss cross back and forth whilst cleaning to help bring trapped dirt in your carpet pile.
    It also stops the robot leaving permanent wear marks on the carpets.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  2 года назад +1

      The S5 Max already got the criss-cross cleaning pattern with a recent firmware update. I think the S6 should get this update in the near future.

    Is it true that S7 and S6 MaxV actually have less airflow on each mode compared to S5 Max? Have you tested airflow on both of them?

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, the S6 MaxV has a bit less airflow than the S5 Max. Regarding the S7, I was not able to measure it, the new brush port makes it a bit hard to isolate air leaks when measuring. Even small air leaks during measurement influence the airflow numbers.

    Hello Goodnight. Could you kindly tell me something about the roborock s7's main brush being made of silicone compared to previous models, did it make any positive difference in cleaning results? I am very interested in this robot and wanted your feedback.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews  2 года назад +1

      Hi! The S7 overall performs better than older Roborock models on all types of floors, not sure if it's because of the silicone roller brush or some other design changes. But I think it's a bit worse than the older bristle brush in terms of picking up pets and human hair embedded into carpets. I like the S7 and it's definitely worth buying (or wait for the S7 MaxV which should be available to buy this spring).

      Hi there is depends on your budget. The S7 is really good if you are looking for a 2-in-1 device. The Narwal is great for as long as you don't have to deal with lots of carpets which you have the Dyson for. The Roborock S6 MaxV is good if you don't need a self emptying system.

      Well if you want the robot to support multimapping, has advanced navigation, better mopping performance then yes, totally worth the price jump. The Xiaomi are great devices for the price hands down, cleaning performance on par with many expensive models I've tested.
      But if you want a better mopping experience go with a Roborock. Maybe have a look at the S5 Max, a great devices for the price too. But you'd lack object recognition (compared to the S6 MaxV) and vibrating mopping pad + self emptying base support the S7 has.
