What is Babish's best/worst take on movie theater snacks?
I agree with all of it. All I got to say is this is probably the cheapest video that they made. Just a quick 5-minute trip to Dollar tree and boom you have this video.
I love Raisinets, but now I'm concerned because my favorite internet cook doesn't know the difference between vegetables and fruits
@@ZER0713 vegetable - a plant or part of a plant used as food. Last i checked, fruit come from plants
Raisinets and the gard gummy candy were horrible takes
The best take was the movie popcorn
I've got a used carnival popcorn machine, flavacol, and I'm more stoned than any teenager can afford to be. My popcorn is mindblowing.

They are epic!
They know it would hold too much power and win
I think it's because they made the video about what to get in case peanut m&ms are _for some reason_ not available

raisin: is fruit

not anymore, raisin got demoted to vegetable status because it sucks

@@dpellek74 Yep. Hard pass. Hahaha. (Although from a reality standpoint they probably *are* fine. But eugh.)
I'm glad that he's gotten more casual as times gone on. He used to be so professional and shit. And it worked at the time. He's always been on top of his channel, content, and character and tweaked things as they went on. The world is ready for Babish to let his metaphorical hair down, hence the painted nails being a thing these days.

i prefer the other Babish. This reminds me of talking heads on ESPN. I much prefer the clam chill demeaner because we have too much of the opposite online.

Buncha crunch is #1 movie snack that for some reason I’d never buy outside the movies.

What Bandana Crumbs?
Put the buncha crunch in the popcorn
I love how Andrew has gotten more lighthearted and open in the past couple of years. At the start of his channel he was so serious and closed off, it really shows how much he loves what he's doing and how much his life has improved since he started. ❤
I feel like babish has a personal beef with me throwing away the raisnettes like that.
How can he throw away Raisinets, they're better than cookie dough bites . My two favorites are Raisinets & Milk Duds mixed with extra butter popcorn😍🍫 🍿
I also feel personally attacked 🥰

“Hey baby I hear the blues a calling cookie dough bites and sour patch “
Finally,
Someone else who dry ages his gummy bears
Bless you sir
In the land of gummy bear (Germany) gummies are always hard and whatever ingredients they outlawed there make them a hundred times better then the ones in the US! They sort of have a gummy shell and the pull stretch and hard chew is out of this world
I always have a giant costco sized bag of gummi bears or worms in my car under the seat unless its super hot during the middle of the summer. this allows them to stay cool and age giving me the perfectly chewy gummy snack on the go
This is a thing? I’m gonna try it
Popcorn and peanut M&Ms are all you need. Also, Sno-Caps over Junior Mints every time.
"Who's gonna turn down a Junior Mint? It's chocolate, it's peppermint, it's delicious!" - Cosmo Kramer
Heck yeah - sno-caps are the BEST
I agree with your entire comment.
Me and my family have always had this understanding when going to the movies, always buy the popcorn to distract the theater staff from suspicious bulges in your pockets. The ideal thing to do is get a bagged candy, cut the packaging slightly and squeeze the air out to minimize volume. If I'm feeling ballsy and it's slightly colder out I can sneak a canned beverage in and wait carefully for a loud musical sting during the trailers to crack one open. The wildest I've gotten was sneaking several value menu Taco Bell burritos into the theater (wrapped with extra foil after the fact to contain the stench).
If you're at a good movie theater they should offer you the option but cold junior mints are godly. Also totally agree on buying popcorn to distract from bringing in your own candy. My mom trained me in the ways of perfectly loading a mom purse with candy from the dollar store. Also screw cap bottled sodas are slightly quieter to sneak in especially in a purse. Extra points if you pre open it and take a sip or two to add some rum to your bottled coke. I had a friend who would bring in a tiny bottle of flavored vodka in her pocket and add half to her movie icee.
I once smuggled in a fast food burger in my purse. Hey, I still bought popcorn and a ridiculously expensive bottle of water from them, but I needed sustenance! I was going to be sitting in the theatre for over 3 hours watching the second Lord of the Rings movie! I knew I'd get hungry for more than just a snack, lol.
My two daughters my one daughter's friend and I all went to go see a tornado movie that I can't remember the name of. I had a giant purse full of McNuggets fries and sodas. And not just no measly four-piece nuggets either.. We each had a full 10-piece box.
I don't like eating candy at the movies. I just want popcorn that I know I will get heartburn from an hour later.
pro tip to smuggle any form of large bag in. Big jacket and tuck the top end of the bag under your armpit and keep your arm pressed to your side to keep the bag from falling down mid ticket check. Little bit risky but pays off
You had me at "no vegetables"... you lost me when you tossed my Snowcaps.
Snowcaps are garbage by themselves but GOD-TIER mixed with popcorn.
@Scroto T Baggins I never had them, and I agree with you.
ruclips.net/video/GrN7eW2OSWw/видео.html
Popcorn is the winner of any matchup because it is ubiquitous with movie watching.
That being said, I do enjoy a tray of pretzel bites with cheese every few movies.
For pretzels: Mustard > cheese
@@tomleonard830 While my German heritage would agree that pretzels & mustard are an amazing combo, I am a Wisconsinite first so I must disagree and say nothing is greater than cheese.
That was a seriously impressive throw of the raisinets. Super clean and looked very powerful. Nice.
“Movie theater popcorn can not be emulated at home.”
Joshua Weissman: “Hold my cookbook..”
No. It can’t. It can’t be replicated
i mean he can try
As a former movie theater worker, we had junior mints and in a three month period, I might have sold 6 boxes. They are quite unpopular and that's why we kept a limited stock. The one candy we always ran out of was whoppers.
Yeah as a movie theater employee for 5 years 10 years ago, I know this guy is full of shit with this list and all real employees know this shit is the weirdest marketing sell out I’ve ever seen.
I used to work at a movie theater too :D I always bought milk duds when going to the movies on my off time.
I'm amazed that people even buy theater candy anymore. Everyone I know brings their own candy for $1 from the grocery store. No way I'm paying $5 for M&Ms. Go f*ck yourself AMC.
@@partyboat123 doubt it's a "sellout" thing, so much as a generational thing. I grew up with everyone around me buying junior mints, and I was at the theater twice a week most of the time because my dad put up the roof signs and we got in for free. Anecdotal sure, but same holds true for your comment. My guess is he's simply basing his opinions and choices on the same info the rest of us are: anecdotes and our own personal experiences growing up. I also am willing to bet it's in part a geographical thing, but who knows 🤷🏻
What I hated is the junior mints would give all the boxed candy without an inner bag a minty taste
Best guest ever? I was watching his channel a moment ago!
He was definitely a unique, interesting guest- very cool dude!
I watched it a minute ago too

Gonna be real, my Theater snacks of choice are Malt Chocolate Balls (Maltesers or Whoppers) and the prepackaged Nachos. I absolutely HATE when popcorn kernels fragments decide to spot weld themselves on the back of my tongue and continue to annoy me for the next century. Buttered Theater popcorn is delicious, but the risks outweigh the rewards.
Very bold - yet apt - take
I feel you on the popcorn. I don't eat Oreos outside of my house for the same reason, ain't trynna have black teeth for 10 hours.

Spot weld is the perfect term for this wtf. Thank you, I will be using that in the future
I freaking love Whoppers, especially the Strawberry Milkshake kind...and yes, they are just so nostalgic and good for movies
Buncha Crunch! So good it didn't even need to visit this pleb tourney!!! :)

Tip: put gummy candies in the fridge to make them hard it works great
My sister likes mixing them in with a slushie lol :D

This video was chaotic and I absolutely loved it
I feel the desire for a hard gummy, I usually throw mine in the fridge, that way they harden and yet stay fresh instead of going stale
Raisinets are my favorite vegetables.
Nachos and the world's fakes cheese takes the crown for me
I have sadly raised a psychopath who will order nachos with no cheese at the movie theater. He says the cheese is nasty but the hot crappy chips are amazing. They never give him a discount, either. $6 for a plate of chips. SMDH.
@@laughingalltheway8399 that's alot hope those chips are good 😂
Whenever I buy Haribo gummy bears, I always do the "feel check" to see how stale they are. Usually the ones towards the back of the rack are the oldest, so I always get those. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that likes them that way.
Yuck!!!!
The back of the rack would be freshest because they want to sold the oldest ones first ..
They’re good frozen too!
Love Babish. Such a character. Absolutely love his vibe...I wanna be his friend.
m&m's and Reese's pieces are my favorite theater snacks 👍👍

THANK YOU. I thought I was going crazy when everyone said they like red vines. Twizzlers are far and away the superior movie theater & road trip snack
But Haribo are perfect as they're already stale!
hard gummies are very underappreciated and I'm glad someone finally said how good they are
I agree with every winner here. I would be in a diabetic coma after having all those but man the smile on my face!
Questions that came up for me when watching this episode; who's threatening Andrew, and why does he exclusively like stale candy?
Sno-caps are by far the best (Buncha Crunches are a distant second). Jr. Mints are good, but not a good movie snack. Sno-caps are good on their own or mixed into your popcorn. Nothing in them gets stuck in your teeth thereby distracting you from the movie. And finally, they're not messy: the white "sno" bits don't melt onto your clothes; the chocolate is light enough that, if you do happen to drop one (unlikely because of the grip enhancing "sno" bits), they just sluff off of you into the floor; and they don't have any wet and/or gooey bits that will get on you clothes/face when you're eating them in a dark movie theater. Sno-caps are the best for a movie!
2:57
"when they're young" lmao
"I'm not trying to get shot"
I felt that on a spiritual level.
