I am making a helmet to serve as a decoration. I am using cardboard as the base material, as I am almost an expert with that stuff. I often make experimental body armor carapaces out of it. I enjoy the challenge. And the chestplates always end up being about an inch thick at the thinnest... so they actually are a bit protective. Also, if you throw on a couple coats of glossy clear coat, you can get that helmet looking quite a bit more shiny.
I've been planning to make this helmet! Your helmet looks great, but you should add the vest to the material list. Definitely crucial for success.
As for gloss paint -- the next time you use it, try painting it on in thin layers and letting it dry completely between each layer. Thicker layers stay tacky for a long time, especially if it's humid out. Try to give it some good dust-free circulation and a constant temperature. Hopefully that will work 👍

I think this was standard floor mat foam but you can get away with quarter inch eva foam. Especially for the face parts.

Clearly you got confused with the Mandalorian and boba fett's Helmet. The Mandalorian helmet does not have a range antenna.

It's a type of caulk that's sand-able.. Kamui Cosplay are more familiar with duestche products.
