I practiced Buddhism and Yoga throughout my 20s back in the 90s at a Japanese Zen Temple. I journeyed with mass amounts of LSD and psilocybin mushrooms. I ended up living in my van for a while before entering back into the world. I thought I knew everything and would have long debates with my father who was a foot doctor and very worldly. He was an Iranian who absolutely despised religion because he had been forced out of Iran by the Islamic Regime. He passed a few years ago from a brain tumor. I spent the last four months of his life with him in a small apartment. The tumor had destroyed his ability to speak so we communicated with our eyes. My father never expressed any interest in spirituality or religion, but I realized when it came time for him to die he was deeply spiritual and very at ease with passing. His death was the most enlightening experience that I've had so far, way beyond sitting Zazen, doing Yoga or dropping acid.

That is why the word mystic exist. Listening to this does not allow one to confirm to a perspective but disperese into the infinitie perspetives. I mean who really has an authority to confirm to one? It would not be wise when we just don't know. Does this answer the question to does a human being have freedom? Perhaps it does and perhaps it does not. There is only infinte ways to find out and your way could be copltely different to mine and that's ok too. It's the translation and embodiment of the experince that matters or maybe it does not.

I refer to myself as a spiritual student. That might be a good replacement for spiritual seeker.

Hi there. Great question! This is Adyashanti's official RUclips page which is maintained by his nonprofit, Open Gate Sangha, which supports his and Mukti's teachings.
