One of the biggest things I noticed was my mood. I just felt happier. I wasn't getting as annoyed with people, like I normally do. The first week on the meds, did more for me than 3 years on anti-anxiety and anti-depression meds ever did.
This was the same thing I noticed from day one ☝🏽 I was just able to allow various stimuli from my environment to ‘happen’ like loud noises, bright lights, even muffled sounds, unexpected movements (I work with preschoolers so there’s A LOT of that!) 😂
I admit I giggled when you were in the midst of it and said you weren't really feeling that much, but absentmindedly noted that you worked out, ran a bunch of errands and cleaned your house.
I loved this. I just started my first dose of Concerta today and noticed a lot of the same effects you did. I did get a headache, but it went away. I noticed the clarity of the world. It's like I could see textures that I never noticed before. Conversations are easier, I can actually listen. Also, my spelling and handwriting is better! So odd. I hope it goes well for you as you increase your dosage :)
I hope to get diagnosed and get meds next week. It's so relieving to read great experiences like this. My life has been so messed up. I am looking towards experiencing life in a better way after starting medication.
I’ve been taking this for 2 months now (18MG)… my recommendation to anyone taking it is to just make sure they drink enough water and eat, also get enough sleep or you’ll get bad headaches. Besides that it’s life changing.

Normally do you also feel very tired physically at night? Or is it just me? Also I can't have the brand one because of lactose and feel a lower energy around 16/17pm and it gets back to normal an hour latter but apart from it it seems to be working
When you take ADHD medications every second counts! Dont waste the pill. Use ADHD medications to do stuff that requires thinking and concentration. Go to the gym at the end of the day.
Oh trust me I do friend. I took my med for the first time while on holidays to see how it affected me before using it on a work day. Also, would hardly consider it a waste, as loud busy places like this can be anxiety provoking for me. I was able to relax, focus on what I needed to, and have some easy conversations with people I knew. Quite a nice experience 😊. Many benefits of methylphenidate other than being laser productive at work.
I could never let the gym for the end of the day, since I started concerta I finally have energy in the morning (and also sleeping better) but at night I can't do anything physical at all. But everyone is different ofc
It actually gave me motivation in the gym. I’ve always struggled staying consistent going to the gym and I’ll get bored and leave early. On meds I can go in there and crush it

I wish you the best on this.. I was on Concerta for 3 yrs, it eventually had me spiralling with neg. thoughts, self doubt etc. Doc moved me to Vyvanse for 2.5 yrs before I took myself off. Vyvanse gave me Raynaud’s disease, doc didn’t know it was possible. I felt good on Vy but my wife tells me about 1/10th happy compared to 10/10 happy off meds. Off meds is a struggle, no doubt.
