Hi I was a victim of his. Greg Groomed me from 2014, right after my 11th birthday, till the beginning of 2018 after I turned 14. I used to be a fan of his & would frequent his forums. He would rate our bodies & I would post for his validation. He would encourage my self harm, and cause the Eating disorder I still struggle with. He would have me send pictures of my self-harm in my middle school bathroom through Skype. He would gaslight me as a child into "staying with him" anytime I couldn't message. He would threaten to harm himself if I didn't respond to him within 15 minutes. He shattered the childhood I could have had. He destroyed my will & want to reach out to anyone but him. He trapped me & so many others..... This video means the world to so many of us. Thank you
You might already know this but none of it was your fault, don’t blame anything that happened between you and him on yourself, no matter how small or large it is. I was also groomed (not by Mr. Onion) but at an older age. You are a survivor and I pray God to heal you from his actions. ❤ I’m still getting out of the mud that was my experience as well. OMG. I'm a mom and I had no idea this guy existed when my child was that young! Parents have no idea what their kids are doing online. My child didn't get a phone until he was 14. And it was a flip phone.

I'm not defending Onision by any means, but to clarify Sarah wasn't his 'foster' child, not at any point in time. She was visting them, and the mother signed medical decision rights over in case of emergency and they couldn't get hold of her. That's all. Not custody rights. Sarah's mother never gave her up for fostering, although the decision to allow these month long visits is certainly bizarre. Regardless, you don't talk like that about a child visiting your house either, foster or not.

I used to run a Tumblr blog calling him out (onisionhurtspeople), and I got SO many submissions on there from former fans of his who only watched 1 or 2 of his videos and then immediately started defending him on RUclips without really knowing what they were talking about. Most of them never saw the body rating videos, his Twitter posts, or what he did to Shiloh, Billie, or Sarah. The only time that I saw people stop defending him was during The Billie Saga in 2016, when Sarah first started popping up in his videos in 2016, and in 2020 when Chris Hansen got involved, because it was cool and "in" to dislike him; but after they left everybody went back to defending him. It's just been this exact same continuous cycle for 10+ years.
Just wanna say, as someone that was a teenage fan of him when he started rating people’s bodies, the original website DID NOT have age verification, it was simply something he added after getting hate In his earlier videos he would also encourage the people to write his name on their bodies, as he wanted them to take these pictures just for him

I'm 99% sure the age limit was not enforced at all either, as I was in a video somewhere between ages 9-11. It was just a photo of my stomach and was not "clearly" someone that age, but it was blatant I was a minor, as were so many photos in these videos.

Sadly this is the main reason almost ANY adult takes in foster children, they are vulnerable, treated often like orphans and kept in horrific giant group home environments like prisons, they're perfect victims.... every year hundreds of foster children are killed by foster parents/social workers, and every year over 300,000 new reports of serious abuse are alleged by foster children. That's just the US annual numbers of abuse reports and deaths... oh and the monsters legitimately get paid $1,000 per month just to abuse the foster child... they get paid to abuse kids....
He actually specifically targets people who have been abused in some way, in my opinion. He used to ask people on his forums if they'd ever been abused, and then target the ones who said yes. He specifically targeted Sarah because she was already a big fan of his who was being abused.

he also made videos on depression and self harm. i remember him saying he had chronic depression and still never cut himself, so if you feel so depressed you want to hurt yourself in a way that doesn’t just straight up end you, do it, because that’s pathetic. like he literally said, “take a blade, put it to your fucking wrist, and cut”. i was struggling with minor self harm behaviors at the time and that video made me get a blade instead, because i felt like if i didn’t, my problems weren’t real/that bad. onion boy was and still basically is determined to just take everyone down and prove he’s this god figure or whatever in the process.
I remember him giving detailed instructions about cutting "down the street and not across the road" or you weren't actually suicidal. Genuinely trying to get people to harm themselves in a way so fatal there would be no saving them even if found in time...

why doesn’t anyone talk about the videos he did on depression & self harm? i thought i imaged them until i read another comment here. those videos were so damaging to my mental health in middle school & actually were one of the main reasons i switched from the rubber band to a blade. i struggled (struggle?) with self harm for 8 years and his videos definitely did not help little 12 year old me understand why i wanted to hurt myself.
I was in one of those videos as a minor. I didn’t post my self harm but I was in the “shaven” tag on tumblr with shaving cream on my face as a child an in between making fun of other minors for self harming he said I looked like the kid from terminator 2. I’m so glad that video is no longer available it was extremely triggering even if he didn’t come directly at me I was a child struggling with those same issues and he was goading children struggling with that to take it further to prove we mean it. It was so fucked up.
That was the breaking point for me. The moment I realized this was not a normal healthy adult man and started calling him out. It sucked and creeps me out how much I used to adore him and the comment sections were definitely always girls around my age (at the time 13)

Regarding the rate my body series, there was originally no age verification to submit photos on the forums at all. It was simply not mentioned. It wasn't until other creators started pointing out how young the girls in them looked that he added the "must be 18" disclaimer. But yeah, I submitted photos of myself a few times (and was featured in a video once) around the ages of 14/15. I remember being so excited to show my friends that he thought my body was "fine" and I had "nothing to worry about". He was actually quite mean about me having insecurities in the first place, but that didn't really register at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 and all of that😬

He inserted himself into the emo and scene culture consistently. He made Death Note skits and a bunch of stupid "funny" songs. Basically if you were into any of those things as a teen, it was very likely you'd stumble upon one of his videos. For me, at first it was like "this content is trash, but I have to watch because he might say something about my favorite band!" And then you just get used to him being unfunny and generally horrible because now you're invested. He would talk about how "honest" and "real" he was. Kids are dumb. Just think about all the kids and teens watching subway surfers brainrot now. All the "I GOT ATTACKED BY ELMO'S EVIL TWIN AT 3AM" type videos. Mr.Beast. The content doesn't have to be good, there just has to be something to hook you in.

Chris Hansen and before that other RUclipsrs told the girls to hold off on going to the police so they could cover it, interview them, have them speak out and etc. Had they gone to the police right away, they would have been asked not to publicly speak out until the end of the case. RUclipsrs on here decided their coverage and poking at Onision was more important than the girls ever getting proper justice or making Onision take accountability for his actions. Then they never got the Dateline show making them all famous bc Hansen is a scammer and obv uses people as well. The few creators in the docuseries also didn't become famous. Boo hoo. And these girls have been pretty much discarded and attacked by all of them bc none of them knew how to deal with trauma and REVICTIMIZED THEM ON REPEAT FOR A DECADE. They now have to live with this forever as Dateline will play reruns of their show and other creators keep covering it, and will never be able to fully get over this trauma unless they log offline. But many became OF stars and etc so they'll never leave the internet and now neither will Onision. It's a mess.

As someone who was in the anti o community when all this stuff was going down, his response and "debunking" videos did not go over well at all. The hour he had these videos up the entire thing was transcribed and put up on tumblr and twitter with all the screenshots and receipts to prove what he was saying wrong. Greg started filming for the reason “to show that what happened was not my fault”, they took the little girl to the hospital and while doctors were treating his child, Onion Boy was busy making disgustingly sexual posts on Twitter.
Onision caused eating disorders in my family. Close loved ones of mine have starved and purged themselves over his influence. Because of his body shaming videos, this loved one was encouraged to destroy herself with the knowledge of his standards, amongst other conditions. He's disgusting, and I'll never forgive him for the damage he did to her, and so many others. Absolutely deplorable human being.

As a kid, I never in the world thought onision or Shane and other childhood youtubers would do what they've did. The fact onision called his CHILD fans hater and worse when he literally ruined so many children's confidence and some ended up in the hospital bc of him and other youtubers is literally vile. Hi, I loved this video but wanted to clarify that the end of slavery in America largely had to do with the efforts of black Americans to free themselves. The pressure that slave revolts and activism placed upon white Americans created the abolitionist movement, and the confederacy lost their entire infrastructure during the Civil War as black people escaped north. Lincoln was relatively blasé about ending slavery on a federal level, and he only passed the Emancipation Proclamation due to the public pressure from freed slaves, black Americans, and quakers. However, this didn’t end the racial inequality and discrimination that black people faced as every other racial issues was left up to states to dictate.
I'm from south Louisiana both my parents were born during 1950s, both remember when their individual high school were forced to actually integrate. I was so shock because that was 1968 to 1972 my dad and 1973 to 1978 my mom ..history is so twisted. My dad enlisted at 18 was immediately sent to race relations because he was from south Louisiana.

Good video on Onision but there's something that, as a trans guy, I'd like to give a little bit of constructive criticism on. When discussing Lucas I understand that knowing his deadname is a key part of evidence (like old tweets or his name being mentioned in pre-transition videos) but regardless of how much of a piece of shit Lucas is it's still important to gender him correctly because it's not like Onision ever gets misgendered. I get that the timeline and constant swapping between past and present can make things confusing but IMO I think the most respectful thing would be to say something near the start like "Just to make you guys aware you'll hear about someone called (deadname)bot. He's a trans guy who transitioned a few years into his marriage to Onision. He also went by Kai at the start of his transition but since changed it to Lucas so if you hear somebody talking about a (deadname) and a Kai just keep in mind that that's it's all one person: Lucas." I totally get that language in general can be a struggle for people as well as unlearning the transphobia we all grow up with in this world. Please don't think I'm attacking you, I can see that you want to try and improve which is why I felt comfortable commenting. If you read this far I hope you're having a good day 🌈💕

Pre video comment: I’m 21, I watched onision in middle school, 7th grade to be exact. I was apart of the forum and patron with my friend who was a year older than me at the time. I have a memory of her, posting her picture of herself on his forum, and he called her fat, and I have a specific few memories, chubby versus fat where he would judge girls bodies and underage girls. People would post on his forum and he would say if they were chubby or fat, I also remember having a few that had to do with writing his name on a part of your body and he would put it in a video. I also remember a few videos with Andy Biersack. But from what I remember there wasn’t ant real way to verify age on the forum
I didn't know he made videos with Andy Biersack back then, but sadly, that seems to sort of track. A few women I've known or dated have been in his line of sight, and he could get super nasty and mean when he didn't get his way. I grew up as a teenager in the late 2000’s, the emo community had massive issues with older guys being creeps towards young girls. It was mostly accepted. A lot of these girls had mental health issues and a bad home life, he took full advantage of that. He wasn’t the only one sadly.
I remember watching him when he first started man he was so different. Long black hair, black suit really attractive had a dislike for his Dad because of some sort of abuse I think of minors I could be wrong it was a long time ago he had changed so much it’s crazy it seems like he became the very thing he hated.
When I was 16, I was crushing on a 30yr old. When we interacted I thought he was being flirty and when he suggested I shouldn’t be wearing a revealing outfit, I thought it was him being jealous. As time went on I eventually forgot about him til I was in my 30’s and a kid was crushing on me. I then remembered dude from my past. The smiles and conversations and as an adult I realized he wasn’t flirting, he was being kind. The smiles were more like “poor thing. You’ll understand when you’re older” and there was no jealousy, he knew I regularly waited for a bus where the SW’s were wanted me to be safe

I thank all my lucky stars every day that I never watched Onision or any of the other groomtubers. I've only ever heard Onision mildly referenced in other content over the years, so I'm learning ALL of this for the first time and its all horrific.
It’s because he just barely skirts the law. He bends it just enough that he almost breaks it, but not enough to technically commit a crime. And then he uses the excuse of “Well, I didn’t BREAK the law” to defend his behavior.
Onision is self reporting so much in his ‘come back’ live stream. The effort he goes to to gaslight his audience and those interacting with him just demonstrates his level of narcissism. His sheer lack of accountability, victim blaming and shaming and finger pointing signposts exactly the type of abuser he is, and how much he manipulated, gaslit and coercively controlled his victims

Even though I personally cannot speak it, I still enjoy the language and the cultures attached. Hi I was a victim of his. Greg Groomed me from 2014, right after my 11th birthday, till the beginning of 2018 after I turned 14. I used to be a fan of his & would frequent his forums. He would rate our bodies & I would post for his validation. He would encourage my self harm, and cause the Eating disorder I still struggle with. He would have me send pictures of my self-harm in my middle school bathroom through Skype. He would gaslight me as a child into "staying with him" anytime I couldn't message. He would threaten to harm himself if I didn't respond to him within 15 minutes. He shattered the childhood I could have had. He destroyed my will & want to reach out to anyone but him. He trapped me & so many others.....

You might already know this but none of it was your fault, don’t blame anything that happened between you and him on yourself, no matter how small or large it is. I was also groomed (not by Mr. Onion) but at an older age. You are a survivor and I pray God to heal you from his actions. ❤

I'm not defending Onision by any means, but to clarify Sarah wasn't his 'foster' child, not at any point in time. She was visting them, and the mother signed medical decision rights over in case of emergency and they couldn't get hold of her. That's all. Not custody rights. Sarah's mother never gave her up for fostering, although the decision to allow these month long visits is certainly bizarre. Regardless, you don't talk like that about a child visiting your house either, foster or not.

I used to run a Tumblr blog calling him out (onisionhurtspeople), and I got SO many submissions on there from former fans of his who only watched 1 or 2 of his videos and then immediately started defending him on RUclips without really knowing what they were talking about. Most of them never saw the body rating videos, his Twitter posts, or what he did to Shiloh, Billie, or Sarah.
The only time that I saw people stop defending him was during The Billie Saga in 2016, when Sarah first started popping up in his videos in 2016, and in 2020 when Chris Hansen got involved, because it was cool and "in" to dislike him; but after they left everybody went back to defending him.
It's just been this exact same continuous cycle for 10+ years.

That's just the US annual numbers of abuse reports and deaths... oh and the monsters legitimately get paid $1,000 per month just to abuse the foster child... they get paid to abuse kids....
He actually specifically targets people who have been abused in some way, in my opinion. He used to ask people on his forums if they'd ever been abused, and then target the ones who said yes. He specifically targeted Sarah because she was already a big fan of his who was being abused.

I was in one of those videos as a minor. I didn’t post my self harm but I was in the “shaven” tag on tumblr with shaving cream on my face as a child an in between making fun of other minors for self harming he said I looked like the kid from terminator 2. I’m so glad that video is no longer available it was extremely triggering even if he didn’t come directly at me I was a child struggling with those same issues and he was goading children struggling with that to take it further to prove we mean it. It was so fucked up.
That was the breaking point for me. The moment I realized this was not a normal healthy adult man and started calling him out. It sucked and creeps me out how much I used to adore him and the comment sections were definitely always girls around my age (at the time 13)

Regarding the rate my body series, there was originally no age verification to submit photos on the forums at all. It was simply not mentioned. It wasn't until other creators started pointing out how young the girls in them looked that he added the "must be 18" disclaimer. But yeah, I submitted photos of myself a few times (and was featured in a video once) around the ages of 14/15. I remember being so excited to show my friends that he thought my body was "fine" and I had "nothing to worry about". He was actually quite mean about me having insecurities in the first place, but that didn't really register at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 and all of that😬

@@kelleygreengrass He was edgy and made a lot of videos on bands, fashion, and other similar topics that young teens, particularly girls, were into. He inserted himself into the emo and scene culture consistently. He made Death Note skits and a bunch of stupid "funny" songs.
Basically if you were into any of those things as a teen, it was very likely you'd stumble upon one of his videos. For me, at first it was like "this content is trash, but I have to watch because he might say something about my favorite band!" And then you just get used to him being unfunny and generally horrible because now you're invested. He would talk about how "honest" and "real" he was.
Kids are dumb. Just think about all the kids and teens watching subway surfers brainrot now. All the "I GOT ATTACKED BY ELMO'S EVIL TWIN AT 3AM" type videos. Mr.Beast. The content doesn't have to be good, there just has to be something to hook you in.

Chris Hansen and before that other RUclipsrs told the girls to hold off on going to the police so they could cover it, interview them, have them speak out and etc.
Had they gone to the police right away, they would have been asked not to publicly speak out until the end of the case.
RUclipsrs on here decided their coverage and poking at Onision was more important than the girls ever getting proper justice or making Onision take accountability for his actions.
Then they never got the Dateline show making them all famous bc Hansen is a scammer and obv uses people as well. The few creators in the docuseries also didn't become famous. Boo hoo.
And these girls have been pretty much discarded and attacked by all of them bc none of them knew how to deal with trauma and REVICTIMIZED THEM ON REPEAT FOR A DECADE.
They now have to live with this forever as Dateline will play reruns of their show and other creators keep covering it, and will never be able to fully get over this trauma unless they log offline.
But many became OF stars and etc so they'll never leave the internet and now neither will Onision.
It's a mess.
The way they were exploited over and over is so fucking sad and frustrating. If someone had just genuinely supported one of them and tried to help them without freaking filming it maybe they would've gotten away sooner and maybe would've been able to open a case against him and have him go to jail. As someone who was in the anti o community when all this stuff was going down, his response and "debunking" videos did not go over well at all. The hour he had these videos up the entire thing was transcribed and put up on tumblr and twitter with all the screenshots and receipts to prove what he was saying wrong. He was posting these kinds of videos almost daily, sometimes twice a day. It was a wild and crazy time

Onision caused eating disorders in my family. Close loved ones of mine have starved and purged themselves over his influence. Because of his body shaming videos, this loved one was encouraged to destroy herself with the knowledge of his standards, amongst other conditions. He's disgusting, and I'll never forgive him for the damage he did to her, and so many others. Absolutely deplorable human being.

As a kid, I never in the world thought onision or Shane and other childhood youtubers would do what they've did. The fact onision called his CHILD fans hater and worse when he literally ruined so many children's confidence and some ended up in the hospital bc of him and other youtubers is literally vile. But they'll never admit hurting their fans bc it was our fault for just watching

Lincoln was relatively blasé about ending slavery on a federal level, and he only passed the Emancipation Proclamation due to the public pressure from freed slaves, black Americans, and quakers. However, this didn’t end the racial inequality and discrimination that black people faced as every other racial issues was left up to states to dictate.

I'm from south Louisiana both my parents were born during 1950s, both remember when their individual high school were forced to actually integrate. I was so shock because that was 1968 to 1972 my dad and 1973 to 1978 my mom ..history is so twisted. My dad enlisted at 18 was immediately sent to race relations because he was from south Louisiana.

Good video on Onision but there's something that, as a trans guy, I'd like to give a little bit of constructive criticism on.
When discussing Lucas I understand that knowing his deadname is a key part of evidence (like old tweets or his name being mentioned in pre-transition videos) but regardless of how much of a piece of shit Lucas is it's still important to gender him correctly because it's not like Onision ever gets misgendered.
I get that the timeline and constant swapping between past and present can make things confusing but IMO I think the most respectful thing would be to say something near the start like "Just to make you guys aware you'll hear about someone called (deadname)bot. He's a trans guy who transitioned a few years into his marriage to Onision. He also went by Kai at the start of his transition but since changed it to Lucas so if you hear somebody talking about a (deadname) and a Kai just keep in mind that that's it's all one person: Lucas."
I totally get that language in general can be a struggle for people as well as unlearning the transphobia we all grow up with in this world. Please don't think I'm attacking you, I can see that you want to try and improve which is why I felt comfortable commenting.

She toured for a bit and then I guess Onision ruined much of it. Well,she probably didn’t have to stay she owns her moms house so she could have moved back home and she eventually did. But yea it was rough.
Pre video comment: I’m 21, I watched onision in middle school, 7th grade to be exact. I was apart of the forum and patron with my friend who was a year older than me at the time. I have a memory of her, posting her picture of herself on his forum, and he called her fat, and I have a specific few memories, chubby versus fat where he would judge girls bodies and underage girls. People would post on his forum and he would say if they were chubby or fat, I also remember having a few that had to do with writing his name on a part of your body and he would put it in a video. I also remember a few videos with Andy Biersack. But from what I remember there wasn’t ant real way to verify age on the forum
I didn't know he made videos with Andy Biersack back then, but sadly, that seems to sort of track. A few women I've known or dated have been in his line of sight, and he could get super nasty and mean when he didn't get his way. Maybe he was still using at that point, I'm not sure, but the messages I've seen were wild. Haven't heard anything about him lately, so at least there's that. Greg though? I grew up as a teenager in the late 2000’s, the emo community had massive issues with older guys being creeps towards young girls. It was mostly accepted. A lot of these girls had mental health issues and a bad home life, he took full advantage of that. He wasn’t the only one sadly.

The smiles and conversations and as an adult I realized he wasn’t flirting, he was being kind. The smiles were more like “poor thing. You’ll understand when you’re older” and there was no jealousy, he knew I regularly waited for a bus where the SW’s were wanted me to be safe

I do not understand how their children werent taken away after that. My kiddo as a small baby rolled off the couch and had a very small fall onto the rug. This video was very well formulated and kept my attention even while I was doing other tasks. Side note, as you said, Arabic is a beautiful language, I agree strongly. Even though I personally cannot speak it, I still enjoy the language and the cultures attached. I’ve been looking into it more as of late so I can properly represent my characters in my writing who speak it (though it’s a bit hard to keep track of because they use two different dialects).
