May Allah grant Ismaael Beaumont, who went back to Allah July 12, 2022, the highest place in Janna! May Allah widen his grave, fill it with light and musk and have Rahmah (mercy) on his soul! He was a great teacher and inspiration to so many Muslims - especially our youth - and had a way of teaching that made it palatable and inclusive to all! He did so much to make Islam and the Arabic of the Qur'an easier for many Muslims living in non-Muslim countries. He even gave daw'ah to his 92 year old grandfather and 91 year old grand mother and both of them took Shahada!
TAWHEED can also be defined as “the understanding of the Absolute Oneness of ALLAH; that He is The Creator separate from Creation and is 1 and not 2 or 3 in any shape or form and has no partner - whether equal, junior or associate”, whereas its opposite, as he said, is SHIRK, is defined as “the lack of understanding of the Absolute Oneness of ALLAH; that He is The Creator separate from Creation and is 1 and not 2 or 3 in any shape or form and has no partner.”

The proper definition of “THE QUR’AN” is literally “ALLAH’s Word revealed to the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم in Arabic rhythmic form. Its recitation is used in acts of worship and its smallest sura (chapter) is a miracle unto itself. ALLAH revealed not only the words of the Qur’an but the meaning as well.

“HADITH” are also divinely inspired words in which the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم explained for us our entire deen through his sayings, actions, his approval or disapproval (and, in some cases, not commenting on a matter performed by one of his companions). The word "hadith" literally means a narration or story that is so moving that everytime you hear it, it is like you heard it for the first time." The difference between the Hadith and the Qur’an is that the Qur’an is ALLAH’s Word revealed to the Prophet, where both the meaning and words are from ALLAH, whereas Hadith Qudsi the meaning is from ALLAH but the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم was allowed to express them in his own words. With the rest of the Hadith, both the meaning and words are from the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم though they are all revealed from ALLAH. There also Hadith relative to the companions and some of the previous prophets.

His mention of COMMANDS and PROHIBITIONS reminds me of the fact that the following ayat in Suratul Qasas contains 2 commands (Amr), 2 prohibitions (Nahyu) and 2 glad tidings (Bushra):
"(And we inspired the mother of Musa (Moses): (telling) 'Suckle him (Musa)! But when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not nor grieve, Verily, We shall bring him back to you and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers." - 28:7. (*Muhsin Khan Translation)
    2 Commands:
    ● Suckle him
    ● Cast him in the river
    2 Prohibitions:
    ● Fear not
    ● Don't grieve
    2 Glad Tidings:
    ● We shall bring him back to you
    ● We shall make him one of Our Messengers.
Also, the ayat 23 of Suratul Isra (aka "B'nai Israeel) contains 3 Command and 2 Prohibitions:
"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect nor shout at them but address the in terms of honor." - 17:23.*
    3 Commands:
    ● Worship none but Him
    ● Be dutiful to your parents
    ● Address them in terms of honor
    2 Prohibitions:
    ● Do not speak to them disrespectfully
    ● Do not shout at them.
And I love his examples! I am glad he spoke about the superiority of having Knowledge vs. being a sincere or devout worshipper, as illustrated in the story of the man who killed 99 people for we all know that, as ibn Abbas, radiallahu anhu, related from the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم: “One LEARNED MAN is harder on SHAYTAN than 1,000 sincere or devout worshippers.” (at-Tirmidhi and ibn Majah). This is also illustrated in the following hadith:
Jābir عنهاللرضي reported: We set out on a journey. One of our people was hit by a stone that injured his head. He then had a wet dream. He asked his fellow travelers: "Do you find a concession for me to perform Tayammum?" They said: "We do not find any concession for you since water is available to you." He, thus, took a bath and died (as a result). When we came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم the incident was reported to him. He said: "They killed him, may Allah kill them! Why had they not asked when they did not know? The cure for ignorance is inquiry. It would have been enough for him to perform Tayammum and to press - or bind - a cloth over his wound then wipe with wet hands over it and wash the rest of his body." - Hasan/Sound by virtue of corroborating evidence. - [Abu Dawood].
