I had the same problem. Removing the tick at the option "advanced trailer coupling" has solved the problem for me and is working fine.

No it does not, it works just like a trailer pickup. Take a job > go to the company > instead of trailer there will be passengers standing

I already tried to install passenger mod and I don't know why, my game crashes.
But the strangest thing is that it runs bus mods.
Maybe the problem it's my PC specs ?
