- When the heat is on during the summetime months.....and it's just too hot to "cook" over a heat source, give this easy Italian Submarine Sandwich a try! I bought a pound each of salami, polish ham, provolone and pepper jack cheeses. Buy feel free to add or take out whatever you like! The sky is the limit!

@@TheKneadyHomesteader a local church had produce leftover from a community give away. They gave me 150 pears , 80 pounds of cucumbers and over 100 pounds of strawberries. Unfortunately the strawberries were on the brink of total yuckiness. I was able to salvage 30 pints to put away though. Doing pears today and tomorrow. Then I thought sweet pickle and dill pickle relish with the cucumbers.
Every family should have a house sub sandwich recipe! I have access to a Italian Deli shop that makes amazing subs but there expensive, thank fully they sell there ingredients. My babies are hungry boy teenagers and having good ingredients for them when they get hungry is so important. Wish you well in all this heat 🥂

I agree! The bread is everything! When i bake my own i like to add the herbs into the dough too. Like Subways herb and cheese bread. 😆 My kids really love it then!😆😆😆😆😆

yessss girl! we have central air too but it works so hard in this high heat! I have all the fans on, the blinds all closed and the house is dark. hahaha we are hibernating! or outside in the pool!

I scoop out the innards of the bread,too. It helps keep the fillings in the sand which when ya bite down

Thanks for the idea. I haven't had a hero sandwich in ages. I stay away from deli meats because of the salt, but in this heat, a no cook sandwich and chips sounds like a win! I'm thinking tuna because I already have a stock in my pantry. I am delighted to hear that you are shopping, making sandwiches for your family and healing so well. I remember when I thought a trip to the supermarket was a tedious chore. My first such shopping excursion after recovering from a broken ankle my attitude completely changed! Just being able to do the ordinary activities of life is such a blessing, isn't it? ❤
Yes!!!! I cried the first time i shopped after the accident. My stepmom took me and i sat in an electric shopping cart. Cried like a baby. I will never take movement for granted again. And Tuna would be fantastic!!!!! Lettuce, onions, tomatoes, yellow peppers…. Now i want to make it!😆👏🏼

We used to own Subway franchises. It started out that stores sliced their own meats. When they switched to presliced we were getting complaints and even returned sandwiches because the meats looked and tasted “weird”. Training videos that franchisers received addressed how they were trying to find meats that were more like the meats of before. Especially the roast beef. 😮 Why not switch back!? If you can buy quality deli meats, you are better off making your own and so is your family. And that was back in the ‘80’s!

Hi Heather, those mammies look good. I know this is not prayer circle Friday, but the doctor told us that Rob does indeed have malignant cancer on the back of his tongue and in his lymph node. They said that the benign cancer is on the outer lining of his brain. Why they didn't tell us right away I don't know but he has to have radiation and chemotherapy. We need prayers. Love you sis.
