- Hi and welcome back to The Kneady Homesteader channel where today, we are going to make the BEST dinner rolls you have ever made! They are a favorite here at my house! Soft, tender, buttery and sweet, these are perfect as a dinner roll, or as a roll to use for sandwiches! They are the best with BBQ pulled pork or chicken, and will be fantastic this holiday with honey ham! Let me know if you give these a try!

I get emotional watching you knead the dough and shape the rolls. How good God is!! It wasn't so long ago you couldn't do this and even wondered if you'd ever do this again. God trusted me with this tragedy, knowing not only would I make it through, I would do so as a testimony to how good He is! For His glory! Makes me cry thinking about it. I felt and continue to feel his mighty right hand of protection on my life....on Mason and Mina's life....He is with us ALWAYS! AMEN!
I made this recipe a couple of years ago for our family Christmas dinner. Now i probably wouldn't be allowed in if i didn't have them with me! They are delicious. I will tweak them with your ideas. oh Betty, I wish we could bake together in your kitchen. I will tell you SAF Instant Yeast is all I will use. I have had horrible results with many other brands.
Maybe I will have to try just once more. I have never bought that brand before. Thank you Heather for being so in-tuned to each and every one of us. Your precious gifts are shining through.
I THINK Costco sells it, I know Gordon Foods sells it..... here is a link on Amazon so you know what to look for! During Covid I bought it off of Amazon....it is only $1.50 more and I didn't have to waste gas driving 45 min from my home to go hunt for it. haha I have it on subscribe and save, and I store all of my yeast, open and still packaged, in my freezer! What a great recipe. I have to copy this and make them. I too have a cold home. I don’t like it warm. Bread does not like that for rising. I use a cooler and put a warmed up rice sock next to my bowl and works wonderfully.
It's hard to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of tea, when your house is hot! LOL I love the cooler temps! I dont like snow though. haha

You taught me and and encouraged me to bake bread years ago. Life has hapoened and I stopped. Well seeing this video has given me the inspiration to begin again. You are such a precious soul and my family is so thankful for you ❤
These always look delicious! I wish I could just reach through the screen and have one.
Going to try them out. I don’t need that many rolls (only 3 of us), so I will experiment and freeze some of the dough balls to see if the will proof after being frozen, and I will proof some for 15 and some for 30 minutes then freeze them and see which has the closest outcome to the freshly made roll. If this experiment works I can have freshly baked rolls in at the drop of a hat. Thanks for sharing.

Finally got the nerve to try and make these today. I believe I may have added just a little too much flour. They tasted good, but I think should have been a bit lighter. For my first time, I think I didn’t totally fail. I watched your video several times today & just went for it. Thank you for giving me the confidence again. My Mom and Dad (passed away during this past year) made homemade bread and rolls my entire life, and many years before. They were in their 90s when they passed. My Dad was still making bread to share with 'old people' when he was 90. I'm sure they would approve of these rolls, Heather! Great job!! This could not have come at a better time. I was supposed to have surgery on Friday for the broken plate in my arm that I have waited 5 months for but, it had to be postponed because of another test my doctor wanted and I was so down in the dumps over it. I decided to get on my computer and you pop in. Perfect timing. I love watching you bake bread. It is so relaxing and satisfying and its just in time for Christmas too. Thank you so much.
oh I am so so sorry to heard about the push back of your surgery. Been there myself, it is so devastating. It hard enough just preparing your body for it....then when it gets cancelled, it is the worst! Well, I am so glad I could help put a smile on your face tonight. What a wonderful dough to work with. I have been looking for the perfect dinner roll (my job to bring them to every family dinner) and so far they have all been lacking. Mine made exactly 24 2 ounce rolls but unfortunately, the family is only getting 23 of them as I had to sample. They truly are the ultimate dinner roll. So fluffy and just slightly sweet. It is so wonderful watching you make bread/rolls. you make them with such love and make them look so easy, they are beautiful.....I am new to the baking front, but am going to give these a try and see how it goes. I always have trouble with adding the flour.....too much ....too little....always intimidates me so I hope that I learn to be like you and enjoy that part. My mother (God rest her soul) was a bread maker and now she is gone I am trying to keep up the tradition especially during the holidays. :o) She always had the best rolls....we would all fight to take home the left over ones. We just found out my daughter is sensitive to soybean oil. Gives her severe abdominal issues. Many things we buy at the store have that oil incorporated. So, I've had to start making things like bread at home so I can control what goes into our food. This recipe looks amazing. I can't wait to try it. Thank you for showing us the steps that the bread goes through in the mixer. That's where I always have an issue and tend to add too much flour. Great video!!

Hi Heather...I love love love watching you cook and bake ❤. I wondered where you got your beautiful measuring spoons. They seem to be rounded stainless steel with some ormentation on the handles. They are beautiful. And i am wondering what kind if measuring cups you use. YUM!!! So, if you make them the day before how do you store them?
We put them in a big bread bag, but you can use a gallon ziplock baggie too!
My sweet dear lady could you please add Frank Caprio who is one of the most loveliest man who so good to everyone. He has a channel and he recently was diagnosed with pancrea cancer he is terrified he needs support and lots of prayers please reach out to him.
I tried making these today, even though mine came out a bit doughy, they were quite tasty. Next time I will be more mindful of the flour. I normally make big cinnamon rolls, so I knew as soon as I took the dough out of my mixing bowl, it was a little too heavy
Heather thank you for showing how to make these rolls. Do you know if you can freeze them and they still taste great?
I have not froze them, my family inhales them! hahaha they ate half last night and tonight we are using the other half for loose hamburgers. But, I dont see why they would not freeze well. Keep me posted if you give them a try!
Will do. I need to take rolls to my daughter’s house for Christmas and she lives 1.5 hours away.
