Contrary to what some believe, this is not a stupid device but, as explained, it's for specific use that will suit some, not all. I use an Easyrig which some may also call stupid. Mind you, I think you could do without the swivel gimbal holder and just have a solid mount for the gimbal. And it's odd that the two arms are joined by a double joint and not a single one.

Currently using and Easy rig with my C200 and a Sigma 24-70 definitely need something like this to get some smooth footage.

I quit! Lol yeah I got a vest but it doesn’t see much use..I’m glad I got it though because I look like a professional when I do use it! To bad I’m not a professional yet give me three more days to get this vest off! Lol

Does the yoke have a frictionless ball bearing system like a traditional steadicam does, or does it have shims preventing the yoke from spinning freely in the pan axis?
I only ask because the steadimate-s has shims in the yoke and that was a dealbreaker for me.

Ask any Steadicam operator why bro.
The why is down to the problem with heavier set ups on cine glass, monitors, v mounts etc. Flying those on conventional cantilever gimbals for more than 20 seconds is lower back injury city, shakes at best. The form factor just doesn’t work with any weight and the human body. It’s like putting 10kg on a 2 foot stick and holding it out in front of you - Huge twisting moment arm. It’s why you don’t see many prosumer shaped gimbals on set. Hence Steadicam or steadicam with bells on - Trinity

No better than a gimbal on it's own as I realised at 4:11 before he confirmed it. It really is a niche product and not for everyone. The review did drive this message home.
