This is actually a pretty fucking good cover. I'm as AIC as it comes so always looking out for good AIC covers, David Cook pretty much nails it in this song
For some reason I really thought he was gonna add a mainstream "pop" sound to this cover, but he really rocked it out. Very few AI contestants claiming to sing rock impress me, but this performance was very impressive. I think Layne would dig it.
He loves doing covers of heavier songs at shows, so obviously he likes that music, so why doesn't he make an album with heavier music on it? I'd bet he would sell a LOT more albums and have a bigger impact in music.

He has written dozens of great songs and only does a very few covers, but does them so well it really adds to his sets. I predict David Cook and his band will be as big or bigger than AIC and there will be new bands covering his songs. Then, people like you will watch the covers and complain than no one can "cover" David Cook.

You could also find great rock singers on "Rockstar:INXS" and "Rockstar: Supernova". Ever since Daughtry, I've decided to pay attention to these reality show competitions and there are some amazing artists. Marty Casey and Ryan Star are products of the 'Rockstar' competition.. Marty Casey sings for LA Guns now and Ryan Star is opening for Collective Soul on tour.
This is an amazing video of an amazing performance. Could you have any idea when you walked into that concert just how phenomenal it would be? David, EEB, and the audience created something there that was awe inspiring. I keep imagining the whole place levitating, defying gravity.
I agree..... Layne was incredible and not too many people can sing AIC songs.. and it's good to know that there is still someone paying tribute to one of the greatest band of the last decade... By the way...Alice is my favourite band and I love Layne deeply
This is my favorite song in the world..i looked into this with some prejudice but honestly...Man he f'n KILLED it and i mean that in a good way! Really, i've watched professional, touring bands butcher this and this i9s really refreshing and wonderful to see.
