- Why wont the narcissist listen to me? I am talking to them and the narcissist acts like he doesnt care. The narcissist makes me feel like I dont matter. Why wont the narcissist listen to me? Why a narcissist ignores you is simple: to act like they are listening can give the impression they care and the narcissist can’t give you the upper hand in any situation. You wonder “does the narcissist care about me?” and this is a valid question. The narcissist cares about you in the way they can control you. They care about you if you are boosting their narcissistic supply, and not interrupting their carefully crafted reality. And you may wonder “did the narcissist ever care about me?” Yes, the narcissist cared about you when it benefitted them. My partner ignores me when I talk so I then wonder if I have anything meaningful to even say. I am never enough for my partner because they never listen to me and never engage in conversation with me. My partner makes me feels stupid and as if I have nothing of value to add. My partner makes me feel bad about myself and not I ever do is nothing. Nothing I ever do is seen as something that makes them happy. Nothing I ever do is right. I feel like everything I do is wrong and this is made worse when the narcissist acts like he doesnt care. Did the narcissist ever care about me or was this all a lie from the beginning? I want to feel like I am never enough for my partner and stop thinking my partner makes me feel stupid.

Ah ha. When I told him that I felt lonely, he rolled his eyes and walked away. Then, he seemed to pull away from me even more so. Compounding my loneliness.
After 25 years of loyalty, providing everything I could-our home, vehicles, and stability-my wife betrayed me with a 15-year emotional affair. Now, after losing my job, she blames it on that, as if the years of her deceit had nothing to do with it. It’s not about losing my job; it's about being drained for decades, emotionally and financially, while I kept believing things would change. Now, I see I was surrounded by narcissists-my wife, her family, even mine-all playing their part in suffocating me. I’ve lost everyone who was real, leaving me alone with these monsters. The way out is there, but it feels like a battle against darkness itself.
In a battle right now!!!

Word salad. When I heard it, I had concern that it was some early form of dementia. My mother when in the grasp of diagnosed dementia, also used word salad.
@grinko2021 It can be extremely tricky at times because dementia is increasing all over the world and too much alcohol and/or other drugs cause it as well.
In fact, I've known many people who have been drinking regularly, or at weekends, for many years and it seems like they're getting dementia due to the word salad, noticeable memory issues, and repeating themselves, among other symptoms!
They're also highly narcissistic individuals though, so would still behave that way, even if they stopped, whereas others are capable of empathy and so on. ❤
