Super Off-Road meets Japanese game shows like Takeshi's Castle, which is known in the US as Storm the Castle (CBS' short lived attempt to bring the show to the United States), and most famously, Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, or mXc for short

Once again, Hamster has announced a game for shoot 'em up enthusiasts out there, and it's a 90's shooter game from Tecmo called, Final Star Force, and it will be heading to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 as part of the Arcade Archives series.
Originally released in Japanese arcades back in 1992, Final Star Force is the third title in the Star Force series that originated with the 1984 arcade title Star Force and also included the 1986 Famicom game Super Star Force: Jikūreki no Himitsu (which combined a traditional shoot 'em up with elements of a Legend of Zelda-style adventure).
It is set two thousand years after the previous entry in the series, with the player taking control of the Final Star II to take on the newly resurrected Gordess - the villain of the previous titles.
As you fly through each stage, you will be able to collect three different colored capsules dropped by enemies to change the loadout of your ship, with these weapons gradually gaining power and abilities the longer you stay alive. Each of these weapons can be upgraded eight times, with the count resetting whenever you die.
There are also bombs, which you can activate, which will also change depending on your equipment and are listed in the lower-left corner of the screen. Wow, what a load of neat features.
Now, is this game worth buying? If so, would you be willing to pick this up and play? Stay tuned as we find out tomorrow on Arcade Archives.

    Bottomless derailment, run-around.
" ESCAPE KIDS " is a sports-action game released by KONAMI in 1991.
ESCAPE KIDS has only one rule: run faster than everyone else.
Use the “RUN” and “SUPER JUMP” buttons to win the future superhero race.
The "Arcade Archives" series has faithfully reproduced many classic Arcade masterpieces.
Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.
Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.
The options menu and manual are available in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

People can now stop clamoring about Nintendo Switch 2 since it’s been unveiled (although not by choice), though I must say it was anticlimactic. Anyway… The 1991 release Escape Kids in a nutshell: I Can't Believe It's NOT Super Off Road Except By Konami and without Ivan “Ironman” Stewart! Another Konami Athletic Action Game after Hyper Olympic Track & Field and Combat School/Boot Camp, only this time it’s single-screen on-foot racing.
Like the latter, Escape Kids did not have a home release until Hamster’s Arcade Archives for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch (January 16, 2025 worldwide + Asia). Both the JP and Asian revisions are present, featuring time and scoring mechanics but not both! It's Konami Athletic Action Caravan as Gaiaplois and Violent Storm can wait a little longer…
