About the voltage drop you saw. It is likely you would see it even with the lights unplugged. At low RPM's the stator output is less. You might just unplug the headlights and see what the voltage is at idle. Another good video, very informative.
gottcha, I thought it was pretty normal, the voltage with the low beam is normal during idle but it's also way less wattage than the stock low beam. thanks!

Great idea - really helpful for any bike to enable cars to see you on the road. I've noticed a difference immediately after installing. Hi Viz works well too.
I mounted --> MICTUNING CREE Led Light Bar, 2PCS onto a KTM a year ago and noticed a significant reduction in the temptation for people to pull out in front of you. Always have light blasters on your bikes.

yeah it's blinking faster because the flasher module thinks the blinker is out and that is how it warns you. the leds draw very little current which causes this issue, you need an led flasher module and a small led replacement for your dash indicator light to solve this issue
Hello Tdubs kid. Love your videos! I have a 2011 the white, red and black one. Anyways I got the same cyclops 3800 but for some unknown reason the pattern is terrible. I can’t even ride at night. I just installed 2 auxiliary lights like this video but if I could get the cyclops to beam outwards would be great. How did you get the beam to go straight? I tried turning the bulb a few different ways but no luck. It comes out just scattered. Any suggestions are very much appreciated. Can’t afford a JNS just yet so I’m trying to figure this out. that is on my list of videos, first i'm going to make a video on how to properly check to see if you are running rich or lean. yeah in NY most likely you will need to re jet with a pipe
i'm feeling quite limited with my 1987 TW. AC headlight. The worst part is the headlight makes 6vAC at idle, super dim, then full brightness at like 4k rpm, which is still a poor beam anyway. Tough to get the thing set up for long distance touring with such limitations. i switched the turn signals to LED and the tail light+rear turn signals are an LED strip, haven't added up the power savings but it should be significant. incandescents suck
@@TDubsKid 87 has electric start , just a wimpy stator to charge the battery and a separate wimpy AC headlight circuit. Instead of rectifying the AC power they just sent it directly to the headlight
Awesome install, thanks for the detailed tutorial. I have installed a spot beam led light on my WR250, The stock light was horrible. I definitely recommend having a long range spot light and close range flood combination lights. See things much clearer up close and to the side of the bike. My video is on my channel if you want to check it out.
Are these lights still installed? And do you ever watch Taryl Fixes All? The skits they do over there are gold. Just thought you might enjoy it. Seems up your alley.

I installed the JNS headlight along with the auxbeam 3" led cubes which are 18watts ea. so a little more then that recommended 60watts you described but doesn't seem to effect it thus far. I appreciate the install video worked no issues with install. Quick question what gps mount do you run for the Garmin 64S? Thanks and great video!

I have 15/44 gearing for street use, which is equivalent to 14/41 I believe, so like 2.5% higher than what you're thinking. I haven't tried it on anything steep yet but I do have to slip the clutch a tiny bit to get moving, especially on a slope. Not sure yet if it'll work on the TW200 but I am thinking it should since even if there are two ground wires you can just run them together.
