  • What are the different kinds of small airplanes? What are the basics of the motor, the seating, the controls, the instruments and the take-off procedures? I try to answer a few basic questions here.
    Part 2 = Cross-country flight to Colorado
    Part 3 = Engine and Oil Change
    Part 4 = Fuels Systems & Repair

    Awesome!
    I learned a lot from this video.
    Now I just need to find a plane to try this myself.

    A fine overview, but for gods sake please stop saying ‘cezna’. There’s no ‘z’ in the name. It’s pronounced ‘Cessna’ with a soft ‘s’. Oh and BTW, stock 182 only has 230 HP.

    MS Flight on Steam has these control at the proper location and under advance settings you can arm different failures at any point you want or random.

    The 2008 was the Obstacle Database, the Aviation Database expired in 2016. As long as you don’t go very far (200nm) and have current charts & Plates, no worries:-)

    • @SierraExplorer
      @SierraExplorer  5 лет назад

      Yes, probably should update terrain but doesn't change that much... however the main airport database is updated about 1 per year. Cost about 150 bucks for one time renewal via Jeppsen.

    250HP? I thought they had 235hp. What year had a continental 250hp?
    Thanks

    • @toppops22
      @toppops22 5 лет назад

      230 actually from the 0470 Continental. The Piper Dakota has 235 but a Lycoming engine. Even current 182’s are still 230hp even though they also use the 540cubed Lycoming, so pretty lazy engine.

    Mr. Sierra. I have a question. Can four adults fight in a Cessna 182?? Thank you in advance for the answer.

    • @SierraExplorer
      @SierraExplorer  3 года назад

      Yes - but not 170 lbs. We put light adults and teenagers in aircraft with gear.

    Can airplanes like this or other sustain full throttle for the entire flight duration (like till empty)? Just wondering

    • @SierraExplorer
      @SierraExplorer  5 лет назад

      Yes - but usually after climb we reduce to about 75%. These engines, from what I hear, like to be run and are tough.

    So now boys and girls we must make sure that it has a propeller, very important to make sure that its on the plane otherwise it wont fly. WTF!

  • @toppops22
    @toppops22 5 лет назад +1

    I struggled with cezzzna but saying a 182 has 250hp was too much wrong information, that’s where I stop watching

    • @owreese
      @owreese 5 лет назад

      Engine upgrade will give it 250hp. Other options are 280hp, 285hp and 275hp for just carbonated. There's also a 260hp and 300hp fuel injected upgrade too

    • @toppops22
      @toppops22 5 лет назад

      owreese sure, but he never specified this 182 had an upgraded engine but it’s certainly not worth an argument
