I think they were both great dancers and it honestly just depended on the day who was on top, however I feel that maddie was always put up on a pedestal which gave her a lot of confidence whereas Chloe really struggled with confidence and Abby took advantage of that. Many a time Abby has raised maddie up at the expense of the other team members (obviously not Maddie’s fault) and I really wonder how the others would’ve progressed if they competed with the confidence maddie had
yes it was all Abby. Even Maddies stress about being a perfectionist really was due to Abby, and maybe the producers. I also think Melissa just loved to bask in it. But thank God Maddie and Chloe seem okay now...though I dont think their as close as they could have been.
Reality tv is not all reality. Abby was obsessed with Maddie. ( It came out Melissa was paying Abby’s bills) Chloe had a little trouble with the aerial but learned it. I remember Abby making them all do one for a dance. My personal opinion the tricks can only score so much in comparison with the rest of the dance and that cancels out both girls tricks so next comes the rest of the dance and Chloe won to me.

I did notice that Maddie's movements are more fluid while Chloe's are sharper, more like ballet style (kind of?), and she's not that flexible either... I think they both shine in different parts, but overall this one was more of a Maddie solo, while there are other dances that suited Chloe better... Still love them both though!
this was the most sickening episode of dm besides the one where abby insulted chloe's eye, that choreo was 100% meant for maddie and played to her strengths besides one single turn section that maddie fell on and chloe did near perfectly. it was not fair at all. maddie couldn't do what chloe does best and chloe struggled to do, but still completed the choreo that maddie did (every single week lol) best. and that stupid little man coming in after abby harassed him to change the score lol! i cried in the shower after this episode aired, i was young and it was so sad. i think chloe losing afterward was fake, things like that don't happen at comps and honestly, the way maddie bombed her turns and chloe nailed them, that was a very noticeable difference/mistake that would deduct maddie's score. chloe wasn't super flexible in her switch leap but she never does those meanwhile maddie did them at least 10 times weekly in every solo ever.
I also think that chloe loosing afterwards was just for increasing drama and was not true in reality Also maybe chloe was not told that it was fake cause in her interview it looked absolutely real that she bought it and i think she was later on told about it

another thing i wanna complain about: chloe has always been better at penche's and arabesques than maddie, there is photographic proof of this however abby still went and dumbed down chloe's choreo to favor maddie in that arabesque turn. unfair! also why let maddie do a front and chloe a side, if this was truly supposed to be an honest test like abby claimed, why didn't maddie do a side? abby completely wanted maddie to win. but we all know this due to how she went and got the judges afterward

Third, the choreo was supposed to be a front aerial. Maddie could do one, so she did it. Chloe couldn’t, so they changed it to a side. Just be grateful she didn’t make Chloe do a cartwheel
Why does Abby give Chloe a dance which shows her weaknesses? Give her a dance to compete that she’s comfortable with and makes her look good while she continues to learn her weaknesses better in class, not to get better while she’s competing.
If I’m being honest Maddie falls out of turns a lot. Like a lot. Chloe is a better turner. Maddie is a performer in my opinion. And I would say flexibility wise neither of them have a ton of that going for them.
I would say there are aspects of Maddie's flexible that are absolutely great, but some aspects fall short for sure. She's just not built to be a 'Full back split' or 'inside skating turn' kind of girl. I do think she was quite flexible for what she had to work with. Chloe on the other hand, also not built to be a contortionist by any means, but her flexibility could be a LOT better if she worked on it. To me that was one of the areas where I Think she was lazy. That being said, I think Chloe had the nicest turns on the show. Aside from Sophia Lucia who came on for a few seconds, but even with her, I prefer Chloe's turns because she can turn slow, controlled and graceful, and Sophia was always turning REALLY FAST for whatever reason. Chloe's turns even in season 3 and 4 were nicer than any of the girls turns in Season 7 LOL. So it really annoys me hear Chloe be overly criticized by the fan base, when in reality, some aspects of her technique were better than everyone else that was ever on the team!
I don’t know if it’s me but I also hear a difference between Maddie’s music tempo and Chloe’s . Is the same song but something is off with Chloe’s. The song sounds more pleasing with Maddie and with Chloe it is almost like out of beat so it’s harder to connect the rhythm with her movements
If t1hey were being paired they should have had the exact same dance, same choreo (without the aspects that gave maddie more difficulty). Same song (chloes was harder to dance to and judges have personal preference they could have like maddie's more). Costume (judges might like maddie's style of dress vs chloes or the band in her hair vs chloes flower
If you watch the episode Maddie was coached one on one excessively by Abbey and the types of corrections and feedback was next level because Abbey was investing in Maddie. She never gave the same time or knowledge to the other girls so Chloe getting second for her solos were major achievements because she was not being facilitated in the same way Maddie was with home schooling and extra provites as well as Abbeys intensive training.
How do you know the other dancers didn't get the same corrections, And it has to be multiple times because Abby could just be off that day she was correcting.
Totally agree that Maddie dances through her whole body and that’s very rare for a younger dancer to do. That’s also one of the reasons why she wins, she is very fluid through her movements and transitions.
i think instead of putting chloe and maddie against eachother they should have danced it as a duet side by side, they bring out the best in eachother and this would have been an amazing duet. who cares whos better.

Not only that Jill and Christi caught them spending the whole day with Maddie. Why couldn’t she do that with all them? Chloe won majority of her dances and she barely got practice In. Just think of her potential if she would have gave her better dances that Maddie had to compete with.... not only that she beat Maddie, I don’t see and emotion in her. She’s not that great and if you watch closely she messes up a lot maybe that’s why she worked with her so much???? And clearly the only reason she chose her was because her mom ( Melissa) was laundering money for Abby because she was her receptionist. She even admitted to working for Abby to pay her tuition throughout the show.... not only that Melissa was a horrible mother. She only cared about her daughter being famous and living off her money!!! Christi was a bitch, but she stuck up for all them kids even when Melissa said Maddie should have won over Mackenzie, and she told gave her daughter pep talks. Clearly Chloe was better, she was winning everything in the first 2 seasons!!! The ballet dance academy, the music video etc. so clearly there was favoritism.... everyone of those girls were good and won dance competitions so yes I am gonna stick to that! They were all winning before the show she only focused on one!
Would Chloe been a better dancer if she got as many privates as Maddy? I always felt Abby held Chloe back to ensure Maddie’s continual wins.I saw an interview on Buzz feed wish I had saved it , I will never forget the hate that Abby unleashed towards Christy.Abby said My dislike for Christy is coming from a real place and I purposely take it out on Chloe because the producers force me to keep Chloe.
I like when you critique dances. Also thank you for mentioning the attitude turns. I have never liked Maddie’s attitude turns for the reasons you mentioned. She very obviously preps going into them and it looks like she can’t keep her center. Everything else Maddie does is great though. Both solos were very well performed.
I love the premise of this video. As you are picking out the strengths and weaknesses of BOTH dancers, as individuals. Dance is so complex and intricate and the details that make this art both technically correct and visually appealing are endless. The way Maddie stretches through her arms, uses her flexibility, and uses her face it makes me very emotional. Almost even making me want to cry. However, when Chloe dances she looks a little stiff but she looks absolutely beautiful and you can tell she dances from her heart! They both looked beautiful but I hate how people compare them. That is why they really aren't friends anymore.
songtresspatrece By "friends" she just means that they are in good terms and they still like each other. However, they used to be inseparable! Now they haven't hung out in years. Trust me I would trade my life for them be close again.😂

Abby Elizabeth you are so dead on .. its Maddie’s musicality and ability to move through each moves makes her nicer to watch Chloe has actually better feet and legs but didn’t know how to move through from one thing to the next
Maddie seems to be really good at making her movements big and exaggerated, which makes her dancing really pleasing to watch. Chloe’s movements seem cleaner and more exact, and she looks very elegant while dancing. Shame on whoever decided to pit those two little girls against each other in this way and take that win away from Chloe.
I think the true difference is confidence. Maddie has so much confidence and she lets her whole body move, Chloe is less confident in herself and appears stiff she has the technique and if she relaxed into the dance it would be just as good as if not better than Maddie. I would prefer to watch a dancer with less technique if they are dancing with their whole body not just doing the steps

Chloe's technique is more ballerina like - where one keeps their torso as straight as possible while dancing. I used to enjoy watching this show until I concluded that Abby is actually an evil person who should NEVER be around children. The way Abby treated Chloe throughout her time at ALDC was nothing short of abusive. And Chloe's mom should have left years earlier than she did.
Just lina Exactly.Chloe had a beautiful turnout and beautiful posture.Maddie lacked in ballet training but made up for it emotion and you really can’t compare the two however those who don’t actually know dance as much would always say maddie is better.
This solo was definitely choreographed for Maddie so therefore Chloe wasn’t put in a position to be doing what she does best. Abby knew what she was doing. Maddie bobbled several times and I honestly think Chloe really won but Abby has it changed. They never did Chloe right with choreo on the show.
THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT THE DIFFERENT AERIALS! It was driving me crazy! Abby had Maddie do the front aerial because she knew that Chloe couldn’t land it solidly yet, and that it would get Maddie more points. I also heard Christi say in an interview that Chloe struggles with acro that involves a very flexible back because in the past when she tried to stretch her back to bend further than it naturally does, it caused compression in her chest and caused asthma attacks. I’m thinking this is true because I know that Chloe does have asthma, and after hearing this I noticed that every time there was an acro group dance and they did chin/elbow/shoulder stands, Chloe always did an elbow stand (probably to keep her airway more open than in a chin stand or shoulder stand. Other behind the scenes info for this episode: Chloe actually did win; Abby went to the judges and insisted that they were wrong, and then insisted that it look like Maddie won for the show. One of the judges (Francisco) talked about it on an episode of Afterbuzz TV. I agree with pretty much everything you said. Maddie’s turns and emotional execution weren’t up to her usual standards in this number. Chloe had a stiff upper back and shoulders during this number, which limited certain movements. That being said; Maddie has such graceful arm movements, her musicality is wonderful, her contractions and extensions are lovely, and her headlines are always beautiful. Chloe dances from her heart, her turns are close to flawless, she has beautiful musicality, and her technique is always strong. The only other thing I would add (that always bugs me but no one ever really mentions) is that Maddie has a tendency to sickle her left foot whenever she does a leap (grand jeté, turning jeté, switch leap). I never notice her sickling any other time! Have you noticed this?
Maddie extends all the way through her arms and legs, she is really flowy and soft and beautiful, she also uses her facial expressions which adds so much emotion to the dance! And Chloe is quite stiff while dancing especially in this dance although you can see how much she dances through her heart and the passion in her dancing In terms of this dance yes I believe maddie should have won how ever this dance was choreographed for her! Her turns for some reason were very off in this dance however she knew this and she was upset with herself! Does this mean that Chloe is or was a bad dancer.....no it simply means that Chloe was given a dance with none of her strengths which of course is going to affect your placing they are both incredible dancers and both have different strengths and weaknesses which should not be used against them!
I think chloe just looks so much more natural and flowing when dancing where as maddie just really tries hard now I'm not saying thats a bad thing as i think maddie is more suited to the sharp dances like the axe murderer one from season 6 it was amazing but i think chloe just looks more enjoyable in her lyrical dances like this one. She dances more from her heart in these dances and maddie teies todance for abby where as chloe does it for herself. But at the end of the day they are both amazing beautiful dancers and did this dance beautifully and when the dance together in their duets it's amazing I'm definitely tean claddie

I agree they both did great but when you said that Chloe didn’t hold her tilt and Maddie held it longer most say that Maddie was rushing and with that opinion Maddie would have more time. But personally I think they both did great but Maddie was a little more fluid.

I honestly believe Chloe was better than Maddie it was just the fact that Abby didn’t give her the same attention etc as she gave Maddie. I mean Abby pretty much put her up to fail most the time and she still managed to win, imagine had she gotten the same love and attention Maddie got. Chloe would have been 10x the dancer Maddie is even now.

I have always loved Chloe on Dance Moms and I did feel that Abby gave Maddie more attention and more skill moves that she withheld from Chloe. I always wondered how the girls would compare to a dance teacher who evaluated them on skills alone. Thank you for doing that. I agree, each girl has certain strengths and I always felt that Chloe could have done better if given more technical dances. Both are beautiful dancers.

There’s so much you could say about both solos both good and bad. I always love watching the girls dance but I especially enjoy watching Chloe. When I look at her I don’t think “oh cute” I think “beautiful” because she really does dance from her heart. I think that Maddie does better in the lyrical category because she does more dancing to the lyrics and I feel that Chloe does better in contemporary because she goes with the music rather than the words. I might have the genre backwards but my definition is correct and what I’m trying to say. I agree with your correction on Maddie’s Relevés, because when you watch the Joffrey audition back in the last season, the judges specifically said that her feet had so much more potential than what she was using them for. So I agree with you on that. I’ve always felt that Chloe deserved the win. I think this episode paints Maddie in a bad light because as soon as it said that she “won” that she grabbed the first place plaque from Chloe and shoved the second place into her hands. Which doesn’t make her look good. As far as the interviews are concerned I have seen videos where the cast say they have to remember back to what happened the previous week in order to do the interviews that we see in the episodes. They don’t actually do them at the time. So for whatever reason Chloe was crying in the interview it may not have to necessarily do with the actual results or whatever. It makes me frustrated because both of these girls are beautiful dancers. To be honest I never used to like the Zieglers simply because of how the show portrayed them. However, after reading Maddie and McKenzie‘s books I’ve seen a different side and realized that things weren’t as easy for them as everybody made it seem. We are all going to have our favorites and our not so favorites. The one reason I’ve always felt that Chloe should’ve scored better or did score better I guess I should say, is because of her turns, that they were seamless they were beautiful I love the turn that she does where it looks like she could be one of those ballerinas in a jewelry box where her knee is bent. Sorry for those of you who know correct dance terms that I’m butchering what it supposed to be. What is that turn called? I love you Chloe you’re amazing! Maddie you are superb as well.

They clearly planned for maddie to win. In awards second place is announced and then first -so it would have been announced “you can” and then “be anything”.
Remember during this Abby rehearsed with Chloe one time and told her she has to practice on her own. But yet did several privates with Maddie on this same number. Abby always knew Maddie can't beast Chloe without giving her disadvantages.
the thing i despized about Maddies version of this dance, was back stage right after she was a lil brat to poor lil Makenzie just cuz she was trying to congratulate her.
i guarantee Abby set it up deliberately for Maddie to win, adding in Maddies best skills in purpose and hardly any of Chloe's best skills. I agree they were both amazing except Maddie's attitude at that time.
Personally, I always thought Maddie's "facial expressions" were waaayyy overrated. In a lot of her dances on Dance Moms, she uses the same face for literally everything, every different emotion, just everything. It's plastered on throughout the whole dance. A lot of the other girls had a variety of facial expressions, and they fit the music and dance better than using the same old face for an entire dance.
Agreed about the typical 'Maddie Face' but once she stopped doing that, which she acknowledged at some point, her acting got WAY better. Close-Ups in 'The Waiting Room' or 'The Hostage' for example, I think she has a definite gift for Acting.

But she did get way better with faces, I saw that in Chandelier. I think the only other music video I saw was Elastic Heart. Other than that, I haven't seen or kept up with anything.
I think you are spot on. Maddie has great performance value as she extends throughout her entire line using her head and eyes. Whereas choose performs more for the audience in front of her it seems, not the 360 dynamic. But Chloe’s performance felt fresh and genuine, which is equally as refreshing as spot on technique. 💗

Reality tv is not all reality. Abby was obsessed with Maddie. ( It came out Melissa was paying Abby’s bills) Chloe had a little trouble with the aerial but learned it. I remember Abby making them all do one for a dance. My personal opinion the tricks can only score so much in comparison with the rest of the dance and that cancels out both girls tricks so next comes the rest of the dance and Chloe won to me.

I did notice that Maddie's movements are more fluid while Chloe's are sharper, more like ballet style (kind of?), and she's not that flexible either... I think they both shine in different parts, but overall this one was more of a Maddie solo, while there are other dances that suited Chloe better... Still love them both though!
this was the most sickening episode of dm besides the one where abby insulted chloe's eye, that choreo was 100% meant for maddie and played to her strengths besides one single turn section that maddie fell on and chloe did near perfectly. it was not fair at all. maddie couldn't do what chloe does best and chloe struggled to do, but still completed the choreo that maddie did (every single week lol) best. and that stupid little man coming in after abby harassed him to change the score lol! i cried in the shower after this episode aired, i was young and it was so sad. i think chloe losing afterward was fake, things like that don't happen at comps and honestly, the way maddie bombed her turns and chloe nailed them, that was a very noticeable difference/mistake that would deduct maddie's score. chloe wasn't super flexible in her switch leap but she never does those meanwhile maddie did them at least 10 times weekly in every solo ever.

another thing i wanna complain about: chloe has always been better at penche's and arabesques than maddie, there is photographic proof of this however abby still went and dumbed down chloe's choreo to favor maddie in that arabesque turn. unfair! also why let maddie do a front and chloe a side, if this was truly supposed to be an honest test like abby claimed, why didn't maddie do a side? abby completely wanted maddie to win. but we all know this due to how she went and got the judges afterward

Why does Abby give Chloe a dance which shows her weaknesses? Give her a dance to compete that she’s comfortable with and makes her look good while she continues to learn her weaknesses better in class, not to get better while she’s competing.
If I’m being honest Maddie falls out of turns a lot. Like a lot. Chloe is a better turner. Maddie is a performer in my opinion. And I would say flexibility wise neither of them have a ton of that going for them.
I would say there are aspects of Maddie's flexible that are absolutely great, but some aspects fall short for sure. She's just not built to be a 'Full back split' or 'inside skating turn' kind of girl. I do think she was quite flexible for what she had to work with. Chloe on the other hand, also not built to be a contortionist by any means, but her flexibility could be a LOT better if she worked on it. To me that was one of the areas where I Think she was lazy. That being said, I think Chloe had the nicest turns on the show. Aside from Sophia Lucia who came on for a few seconds, but even with her, I prefer Chloe's turns because she can turn slow, controlled and graceful, and Sophia was always turning REALLY FAST for whatever reason. Chloe's turns even in season 3 and 4 were nicer than any of the girls turns in Season 7 LOL. So it really annoys me hear Chloe be overly criticized by the fan base, when in reality, some aspects of her technique were better than everyone else that was ever on the team!
I don’t know if it’s me but I also hear a difference between Maddie’s music tempo and Chloe’s . Is the same song but something is off with Chloe’s. The song sounds more pleasing with Maddie and with Chloe it is almost like out of beat so it’s harder to connect the rhythm with her movements

If t1hey were being paired they should have had the exact same dance, same choreo (without the aspects that gave maddie more difficulty). Same song (chloes was harder to dance to and judges have personal preference they could have like maddie's more). Costume (judges might like maddie's style of dress vs chloes or the band in her hair vs chloes flower
If you watch the episode Maddie was coached one on one excessively by Abbey and the types of corrections and feedback was next level because Abbey was investing in Maddie. She never gave the same time or knowledge to the other girls so Chloe getting second for her solos were major achievements because she was not being facilitated in the same way Maddie was with home schooling and extra provites as well as Abbeys intensive training.
How do you know the other dancers didn't get the same corrections, And it has to be multiple times because Abby could just be off that day she was correcting.
Totally agree that Maddie dances through her whole body and that’s very rare for a younger dancer to do. That’s also one of the reasons why she wins, she is very fluid through her movements and transitions.

Not only that Jill and Christi caught them spending the whole day with Maddie. Why couldn’t she do that with all them? Chloe won majority of her dances and she barely got practice In. Just think of her potential if she would have gave her better dances that Maddie had to compete with.... not only that she beat Maddie, I don’t see and emotion in her. She’s not that great and if you watch closely she messes up a lot maybe that’s why she worked with her so much???? And clearly the only reason she chose her was because her mom ( Melissa) was laundering money for Abby because she was her receptionist. She even admitted to working for Abby to pay her tuition throughout the show.... not only that Melissa was a horrible mother. She only cared about her daughter being famous and living off her money!!! Christi was a bitch, but she stuck up for all them kids even when Melissa said Maddie should have won over Mackenzie, and she told gave her daughter pep talks. Clearly Chloe was better, she was winning everything in the first 2 seasons!!! The ballet dance academy, the music video etc. so clearly there was favoritism.... everyone of those girls were good and won dance competitions so yes I am gonna stick to that! They were all winning before the show she only focused on one!

Yeah, like Mark said, it is also because Maddie started homeschooling so she had way more time to train, which Chloe wasn't willing to do.
I like when you critique dances. Also thank you for mentioning the attitude turns. I have never liked Maddie’s attitude turns for the reasons you mentioned. She very obviously preps going into them and it looks like she can’t keep her center. Everything else Maddie does is great though. Both solos were very well performed.

The way Maddie stretches through her arms, uses her flexibility, and uses her face it makes me very emotional. Almost even making me want to cry. However, when Chloe dances she looks a little stiff but she looks absolutely beautiful and you can tell she dances from her heart! They both looked beautiful but I hate how people compare them. That is why they really aren't friends anymore.

The only way it would have been fair was to have the exact same choreography and put in stuff that favors both girls and that both girls are good at.
I think the true difference is confidence. Maddie has so much confidence and she lets her whole body move, Chloe is less confident in herself and appears stiff she has the technique and if she relaxed into the dance it would be just as good as if not better than Maddie. I would prefer to watch a dancer with less technique if they are dancing with their whole body not just doing the steps
Yeah, we would have preferred to watch Chloe if she'd been allowed to keep her confidence, but Abby destroyed it, so that's not her fault at all.

Chloe's technique is more ballerina like - where one keeps their torso as straight as possible while dancing. I used to enjoy watching this show until I concluded that Abby is actually an evil person who should NEVER be around children. The way Abby treated Chloe throughout her time at ALDC was nothing short of abusive. And Chloe's mom should have left years earlier than she did.

This solo was definitely choreographed for Maddie so therefore Chloe wasn’t put in a position to be doing what she does best. Abby knew what she was doing. Maddie bobbled several times and I honestly think Chloe really won but Abby has it changed. They never did Chloe right with choreo on the show.

Abby had Maddie do the front aerial because she knew that Chloe couldn’t land it solidly yet, and that it would get Maddie more points.
I also heard Christi say in an interview that Chloe struggles with acro that involves a very flexible back because in the past when she tried to stretch her back to bend further than it naturally does, it caused compression in her chest and caused asthma attacks.
I’m thinking this is true because I know that Chloe does have asthma, and after hearing this I noticed that every time there was an acro group dance and they did chin/elbow/shoulder stands, Chloe always did an elbow stand (probably to keep her airway more open than in a chin stand or shoulder stand.

Chloe actually did win; Abby went to the judges and insisted that they were wrong, and then insisted that it look like Maddie won for the show. One of the judges (Francisco) talked about it on an episode of Afterbuzz TV.
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Maddie’s turns and emotional execution weren’t up to her usual standards in this number. Chloe had a stiff upper back and shoulders during this number, which limited certain movements.
That being said; Maddie has such graceful arm movements, her musicality is wonderful, her contractions and extensions are lovely, and her headlines are always beautiful. Chloe dances from her heart, her turns are close to flawless, she has beautiful musicality, and her technique is always strong.
The only other thing I would add (that always bugs me but no one ever really mentions) is that Maddie has a tendency to sickle her left foot whenever she does a leap (grand jeté, turning jeté, switch leap). I never notice her sickling any other time! Have you noticed this?
Maddie extends all the way through her arms and legs, she is really flowy and soft and beautiful, she also uses her facial expressions which adds so much emotion to the dance! And Chloe is quite stiff while dancing especially in this dance although you can see how much she dances through her heart and the passion in her dancing
In terms of this dance yes I believe maddie should have won how ever this dance was choreographed for her! Her turns for some reason were very off in this dance however she knew this and she was upset with herself! Does this mean that Chloe is or was a bad dancer.....no it simply means that Chloe was given a dance with none of her strengths which of course is going to affect your placing they are both incredible dancers and both have different strengths and weaknesses which should not be used against them!

I think chloe just looks so much more natural and flowing when dancing where as maddie just really tries hard now I'm not saying thats a bad thing as i think maddie is more suited to the sharp dances like the axe murderer one from season 6 it was amazing but i think chloe just looks more enjoyable in her lyrical dances like this one. She dances more from her heart in these dances and maddie teies todance for abby where as chloe does it for herself. But at the end of the day they are both amazing beautiful dancers and did this dance beautifully and when the dance together in their duets it's amazing I'm definitely tean claddie

I have always loved Chloe on Dance Moms and I did feel that Abby gave Maddie more attention and more skill moves that she withheld from Chloe. I always wondered how the girls would compare to a dance teacher who evaluated them on skills alone. Thank you for doing that. I agree, each girl has certain strengths and I always felt that Chloe could have done better if given more technical dances. Both are beautiful dancers.

There’s so much you could say about both solos both good and bad. I always love watching the girls dance but I especially enjoy watching Chloe. When I look at her I don’t think “oh cute” I think “beautiful” because she really does dance from her heart. I think that Maddie does better in the lyrical category because she does more dancing to the lyrics and I feel that Chloe does better in contemporary because she goes with the music rather than the words. I might have the genre backwards but my definition is correct and what I’m trying to say. I agree with your correction on Maddie’s Relevés, because when you watch the Joffrey audition back in the last season, the judges specifically said that her feet had so much more potential than what she was using them for. So I agree with you on that. I’ve always felt that Chloe deserved the win. I think this episode paints Maddie in a bad light because as soon as it said that she “won” that she grabbed the first place plaque from Chloe and shoved the second place into her hands. Which doesn’t make her look good. As far as the interviews are concerned I have seen videos where the cast say they have to remember back to what happened the previous week in order to do the interviews that we see in the episodes. They don’t actually do them at the time. So for whatever reason Chloe was crying in the interview it may not have to necessarily do with the actual results or whatever. It makes me frustrated because both of these girls are beautiful dancers. To be honest I never used to like the Zieglers simply because of how the show portrayed them. However, after reading Maddie and McKenzie‘s books I’ve seen a different side and realized that things weren’t as easy for them as everybody made it seem. We are all going to have our favorites and our not so favorites. The one reason I’ve always felt that Chloe should’ve scored better or did score better I guess I should say, is because of her turns, that they were seamless they were beautiful I love the turn that she does where it looks like she could be one of those ballerinas in a jewelry box where her knee is bent. Sorry for those of you who know correct dance terms that I’m butchering what it supposed to be. What is that turn called? I love you Chloe you’re amazing! Maddie you are superb as well.

They clearly planned for maddie to win. In awards second place is announced and then first -so it would have been announced “you can” and then “be anything”.
Remember during this Abby rehearsed with Chloe one time and told her she has to practice on her own. But yet did several privates with Maddie on this same number. Abby always knew Maddie can't beast Chloe without giving her disadvantages.

Personally, I always thought Maddie's "facial expressions" were waaayyy overrated. In a lot of her dances on Dance Moms, she uses the same face for literally everything, every different emotion, just everything. It's plastered on throughout the whole dance. A lot of the other girls had a variety of facial expressions, and they fit the music and dance better than using the same old face for an entire dance.
Agreed about the typical 'Maddie Face' but once she stopped doing that, which she acknowledged at some point, her acting got WAY better. Close-Ups in 'The Waiting Room' or 'The Hostage' for example, I think she has a definite gift for Acting.

But she did get way better with faces, I saw that in Chandelier. I think the only other music video I saw was Elastic Heart. Other than that, I haven't seen or kept up with anything.

I think you are spot on. Maddie has great performance value as she extends throughout her entire line using her head and eyes. Whereas choose performs more for the audience in front of her it seems, not the 360 dynamic. But Chloe’s performance felt fresh and genuine, which is equally as refreshing as spot on technique. 💗
