Vivaldi's Spring. Capturing the sounds of bird songs, flowing streams, and even a thunderstorm - it's hard to believe this piece was written in the early 1700s. Although setting a piece of music to a story (known as program music) had existed in some form long before Vivaldi, it only reached it's height in popularity over a century later - and imitating the sounds of nature largely came into style during the 20th Century. It's amazing to think how ahead of his time Vivaldi was. Hope this piano arrangement of Spring brightens your Thursday ♥

Antonio Vivaldi was a priest for a few years, but he was often sick. Everyone would wonder what was wrong with their “Red Priest”. Laying in bed ill one day, Vivaldi heard a gondolier singing about his true love, and turned to music. He opened Ospedalle della Pieta, a music school for orphans. Boys would learn a trade and leave at 16, while most girls stayed to help support the Pieta. The girls had an orchestra, which Vivaldi conducted. The best of them were in a special class, figlie de coro. He was a great composer who used his wealth to help others.

@@bhooshanpandit1344 Vivaldi's Spring is one of the most famous classical songs of all time. They are arguably Vivaldi's most famous works. Maybe since it is being played on a piano, it is hard to tell which song it is, because Vivaldi's Four Seasons aren't meant for piano.

as someone who has played the original composition for strings, this was so much fun! a piano can't imitate the different colors string instruments can produce, but I think it brings its own bright cheerfulness to the piece.
