Its very nice quad dude.Congratulations Btw i have a question for you. What is your brand of battery and how much current do that lion batteries discharge?
That answer is too long for a comment. If you check out Joshua Bardwell's RUclips channel he has a video made for almost anything FPV. That would be a good place to start to learn about the hobby. But here's the quick version. You need FPV goggles, a transmitter, the drone, a few batteries and a charger for them. Each one of those can cost between $100 and $500+ The drone and the goggles being the most expensive part.
Thanks buddy! Ya, I'm surprised how well my video holds out sometimes. This helical antenna I made for my goggles is crazy good. Also I put a little bit of expo on my throttle, it really helps me feel more comfortable weaving through the bushes.

I'm about to hook a GPS up to mamba F405MK2 for some testing. Any insight on how I might notice the GPS being unreliable and corrupted? I'm hoping it's been fixed in a firmware update.
I think it was only with bf 4.1 With 4.2 it seemed to work fine. The difference that I noticed was it taking much longer to lock on and the sat count would drop all of a sudden every now and again. (if it goes below your min sat setting gps rescue may not work depending on your failsafe sanity check setting.)
Hi, regarding what you said about the f405 mk2 corrupting the gps data, where can i read more about this? And do you know if thats also the case for the mamba f722? And great work like always man :)
I found it was with betaflight 4.1.0 thru 4.1.6 that the f405 seemed to have GPS issues. With BF 4.1.7 or higher it seemed fine. I know there were some GPS firmware changes in BF during that time but only some other people seemed to have issues at that time.
So crazy dude, this is incredible! Curious, were you mostly in line of sight throughout the whole flight? Also, this would probably be impossible to do with HD? Only analog would be able to perform at that range huh?
I practice and learn the best route for maintaining line of sight and then my third or forth flight gets used for the video. Not sure about HD, never tried it before.
Very nice trip ,make dream, but perhaps a stupid question , how to follow the drone (to know where this one is in real time )and come back home so far .I ve never found the answer anywhere ! thanks

Hey, just started following you, awesome vids! I would never go this far with a quad! Can you please share how to render the osd in your HD video? Looks sick!
Oh it would be a video in it's self. I'm getting a little better at it now. Interesting video idea maybe. I may have to work up to it. I've barely even spoken to the camera before, I just fly lots 😄 I use adobe premiere pro for editing. I scale up the 4:3 osd to the right shape and size to fit the 16:9 gopro footage. Draw custom shaped masks around each osd element. Then is the hard part, getting the numbers to show up but not the footage behind it. It's different each time depending on brightness differences, contrast etc... so I just try a bunch of effects till I find what works best. Render the entire 15 min or so video out at a really high bit rate. It takes me about 3 to 5 hours of work to get this far. (never taken an adobe class though) Then it's ready to start editing.
Thanks! I've managed to get out about 6km with my ev800d goggles, but I do notice an improvment using my new orqa fpv.one's with a rapidfire module. A strong directional antenna on the goggles is key though.
I didn't want to get too close. It will either be an antenna or some sort of scientific equipment which I wouldn't want to disturb. I've seen the same on 3 peaks in the area.
Wow. Awesome flight! Your goggle DVR looks like HD, but you say it's analog. So clear and glitch free. What flight cam and vtx are you using and are you recording analog feed onboard the 7" rig?
Oh thanks very much, maybe the thumbnail wasn't clear, this is 2.7k gopro footage with my separate goggle DVR carefully overlayed on top. (keyed over top so just the OSD is visible but none of the surrounding video.) To give the flight info and have the feel of DVR but with HD footage. It's titled 2.7k gopro w/full OSD overlay. I actually wasn't all that happy with the edit so I completely redid it! I scrapped the osd overlay re-edited the video, now titled it "An FPV Adventure". I spent a LOT of time on the waterfalls on the way up for the re-edit with water sounds etc, and that part is now uncut. You might like that one even more!
Very nice man. Your Realsteady footage is 1st time i have ever seen it without distortion. What is the catch? All RSGO footage I have seen so far looks so distorted it makes me sick but not yours. Great job!
Thank you very much! ReelsteadyGo can be quite a fight to get clean videos without too much stretching. I think it OVER stabilizes everything. I always use the lowest setting and wish it would go much lower even.
Sure, I run two 6s packs in parallel. They are 2600 mah 18650 cells. P26a by molicel. 35 amps constant per pack, double that with two in parrallel. You need to really know what you are doing when working with li-ion or lipo cells. They are about $5 US each cell so x 12 for two 6s packs. They are on sale for another day or two at 18650batterystore.com. So are the sony VTC6, but I haven't used them before, the amp handling is quite a bit lower but the capacity is higher. The molicel ones have worked well for me so far but my quad only pulls 40 or 45 amps at full throttle as well.
DO NOT use the F405MK2 FC for long range! Hi I just got this for long range flying because it was good value, but i've been struggling to get GPS signal lock. Is this what you mean or does it just mess with all gps information? Would be good to get your experience out why its not good. Thanks
Me and other people have done experiments with the f405 MK2 with gps. The flight controller I think corrupts gps data and then is unable to read it properly. FOR SURE THIS FLIGHT CONTROLLER WILL GIVE UNRELIABLE GPS FUNCTION IF IT CAN EVEN GET A SAT LOCK. EVEN WHEN CONECTTED WITH A SHIELDED CABLE AND NO OTHER PARTS CONNECTED IT CAN'T READ A GPS PROPERLY. You can use it, just never use gps rescue because it may randomly fail at any time. The only quad I ever lost was because the MK2 suddenly dropped sats for no reason like it does all the time. My 2 year old beatup DYSf4 pro V2 worked way better. Good luck!
I cut and paste this from a science web site and adjusted the numbers to match my situation. Connecting batteries in series increases voltage, but does not increase overall amp-hour capacity. All batteries in a series bank must have the same amp-hour rating. Connecting batteries in parallel increases total current capacity by decreasing total resistance, and it also increases overall amp-hour capacity. To calculate the output when wiring in parallel add the Ah ratings together. In this case 2.6 Ah + 2.6 Ah = 5.2 Ah. The voltage does not change. Again, note the way the battery bank is wired to the appliance so that the load is shared evenly across all the batteries. Ok so the amp rating doesn't go to 70 amps, but the amps coming from the quad are divided evenly between the two packs so each 35 amp rated pack only ever takes half of the amp draw. Allowing the quad to draw twice as many amps before reaching the maximum amp rating for the packs. It's too much to try and explain PROPERLY to people in easy to understand terms without people getting bored and clicking off the video. I guess I could have written: 1 pack I can hit 35 amps safely. 2 packs I can hit 70 amps safely. Anyway it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other unless people are using the info to do voltage/watt/amp calculations or something, in which case they will already know what I just explained about sharing the current load across parallel connections. (BTW I have pulled over 70 amps for 2 or 3 seconds straight from these packs on my bigger heavier quad.)
Thanks so much! I don't think I had direct line of sight. I was using an 800mw vtx. But I think what really helps when behind trees while 2 or 3 km out is this 7 turn helical antenna that I actually made myself. I've made 4 the same, but 3 are so / so and 1 works amazing. As well I've had a lot of practice flying right on the edge of losing video so I'm comfortable with pushing the limits.
@@FalconRadFPV I'm using a 800mw vtx too and immediately loose video if something is in the way. The antenna is a Truerc x2air which should have similiar gain to a 7turn helical. I'll look into making my own helical tho
@@FalconRadFPV that and the tx antenna is what I haven't upgraded yet. I use the stock vrx that came with my eachine ev200d's and an iflight albatross long antenna on the vtx.
Thank you! This flight was done using molicel p26a 18650 cells. I have never totally drained one but when I've gone through 2500mah of the stated 2600mah capacity It's still above 3v! I assume after capacity is reached it would drop fast. The samsung 40T 21700 cells I use in a different battery would be at about 2.75v maybe a bit lower when through a similar % of capacity. I have only used molicel's p26a but if their other li-ion cells are similar then that's impressive. I believe they are supposed to be one of the better manufactures of 18650's. Kind of funny they have a factory/research facility about 2 hours drive away from me but the best way to get them that I've found is shipped from a place in the southern united states!?
I'm not really sure. I got 8.5km on one flight with two home made helical antennas and a rapidfire module on my goggles. On the drone was a tank ultimate plus vtx at 800mw with a TrueRC singularity antenna. Any good 800mw vtx should work. I had clear video and it probably would have been good up to 10 km. A good quality 13dbi+ patch antenna should do the job as well. It's also about no rf interference, maintaining line of sight and having all components on the drone be installed properly as well as be in good condition. 10 km is getting into the range where many would start using a ground station.
Thanks for the comment. To be honest I set it to 250mw, double checked that the failsafe was setup correctly and rssi was working and that was about it. I haven't even updated the firmware in over a year. It works perfect so I don't want to change anything. I used Oscar Liang's setup for the transmitter alarms. oscarliang.com/lq-rssi-tbs-crossfire/
Do you mean for this specific video? I've had a few requests to see the goggle's DVR and have been thinking about working some clips of DVR into an upcoming video idea.
For li-ion the minumun voltage is 2.5, but after I get to about 3.2 or 3.1v it starts to drop really quickly. That's one reason why I always use my mah count to know battery life. Voltage vs battery life isn't very linear.
I use adobe premier pro for editing. It's a bit of a difficult process. An overlay with masking and another couple of tricks. It takes a couple of hours to get looking good each time I do it for a video.
Thank you! If you look on my RUclips page I have several videos with instructions on building and setting up (quads and gear playlist). Although if you are new to FPV I would suggest starting off with a 3 to 5 inch freestyle build to learn with.
I will be doing a build video eventually. I've made two already but with a new iflight flight controller and I didn't like the results so I never posted the videos. I think I've finally decided on the JB F7 as a recomended flight controller. If the JB F7 keeps working well for me then I'll be able to make a new build video soon.
Strange this video of mine gets SO MANY views??? I have ones that look much better and far better editing! This one is 10X better - ruclips.net/video/lZ1yt73HQxQ/видео.html This one is 20X better - ruclips.net/video/e16btdeOm88/видео.html They don't have an OSD but they have way more exciting footage!

Thanks. BTW, I'm going to step crazy up another notch with some of my upcoming videos! 😉
There is an error at the beginning: 2 6S 2600mah together doesn't provide 70A Max instead of 35A.
@@FalconRadFPV I'm very apologise... I realized I was totally wrong. Stupid me...🙏
That’s insaneeeee!!! What battery did you use??
Thank you! 12 x Li-ion cells. (6s2p)
wow!
Thanks!
Nice nice nice...
Thank you very much! (BTW I re-edited that video and the new version "An FPV Adventure" is WAY better!)
for me it is very important how the feeling when flying is with the goggle :)
beautiful flight🔥 but how tf did you manage to not loose line of sight going up that river?
You might also try changing out some video parts 1 at a time if you have any spares. Are you using rapidfire?
@@FalconRadFPV that and the tx antenna is what I haven't upgraded yet. I use the stock vrx that came with my eachine ev200d's and an iflight albatross long antenna on the vtx.
Nice! Is 3.2v the lowest you go on Li-ion?
For 10km range which video transmeter, receiver and antena should i use?
I'm not really sure. I got 8.5km on one flight with two home made helical antennas and a rapidfire module on my goggles. On the drone was a tank ultimate plus vtx at 800mw with a TrueRC singularity antenna. Any good 800mw vtx should work. I had clear video and it probably would have been good up to 10 km. A good quality 13dbi+ patch antenna should do the job as well. It's also about no rf interference, maintaining line of sight and having all components on the drone be installed properly as well as be in good condition. 10 km is getting into the range where many would start using a ground station.
Top
Thanks.
What's your recommended crossfire settings for long range? Just curious as I want to build me a LR quad over the holidays
Thanks for the comment. To be honest I set it to 250mw, double checked that the failsafe was setup correctly and rssi was working and that was about it. I haven't even updated the firmware in over a year. It works perfect so I don't want to change anything.
I used Oscar Liang's setup for the transmitter alarms. oscarliang.com/lq-rssi-tbs-crossfire/
how come RSSI always 99..My nano diversity with two tbs antenna still fluctuation even after 700meter :)
I use a tbs diamond antenna on my tx and a TrueRC Bardpole sticking way up above my battery etc.... on the quad.
Do you fly these long range in Acro, Horizon or level modes
Acro, or air mode. I use level mode if I lose video.
Parse bn o no como puedo hacer para comunicarme con usd
Sorry I don't understand, it won't translate properly.
Love this one. What's your flight time like with these double lithium ions? 20 mins?
More like 17 min, but without going up a 2km tall mountain I should get 20 I think.
Thank for the 00:10
Your welcome!
briljant M8 ♥
Thanks again! 🙂
Nice 👍🏾
Thanks bro!
Hey can you share the dvr footage as well 😄
Do you mean for this specific video? I've had a few requests to see the goggle's DVR and have been thinking about working some clips of DVR into an upcoming video idea.
@@FalconRadFPVyeah specifically this video. It would be great to see the signal breakage and everything at such a long distance.
What video frequency you use?
Good old 5.8g, just need good antennas.
What’s a healthy voltage to land at with the li-ion cells?
For li-ion the minumun voltage is 2.5, but after I get to about 3.2 or 3.1v it starts to drop really quickly. That's one reason why I always use my mah count to know battery life. Voltage vs battery life isn't very linear.
How do you get the osd overlay on your GoPro footage?
I use adobe premier pro for editing. It's a bit of a difficult process. An overlay with masking and another couple of tricks. It takes a couple of hours to get looking good each time I do it for a video.
u have to use repiter?
No repeater just good antennas.
Ccraaaaazyy
Thanks!
Hey, I'm curious, what vtx are you using?
This quad has a Rush Tank Ultimate Plus VTX that was running at 800 mw.
wowwwww!
can you help me build one?
Thank you! If you look on my RUclips page I have several videos with instructions on building and setting up (quads and gear playlist). Although if you are new to FPV I would suggest starting off with a 3 to 5 inch freestyle build to learn with.
How much does all your gear cost?
about $1200 to $1500 US
@@FalconRadFPV thanks
What is ur frame weight?
The frame I'm using here is my V1. I only have one of them so I can't weight the frame separately, but I think just the carbon was 150g.
I want you to help me make this drone
@3dprintsbynathan I dm you on Instagram I believe
I will be doing a build video eventually. I've made two already but with a new iflight flight controller and I didn't like the results so I never posted the videos. I think I've finally decided on the JB F7 as a recomended flight controller. If the JB F7 keeps working well for me then I'll be able to make a new build video soon.
Strange this video of mine gets SO MANY views??? I have ones that look much better and far better editing!
This one is 10X better - ruclips.net/video/lZ1yt73HQxQ/видео.html
This one is 20X better - ruclips.net/video/e16btdeOm88/видео.html
They don't have an OSD but they have way more exciting footage!
It surprises me how a guy can fly so high with big balls of steel...geese
lol, thanks.
Nice footage but this background music is very annoing
Thanks for the input. I use only youtube audio library tracks so the selection is quite limited.
