DETAILS:
LAFD and LAPD responded to a reported traffic accident.
Units arrived to find a solo vehicle into the rear of a park semi-truck.
One person was able to get out of the vehicle by himself and was transported to a local hospital.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters had to lift the trailer off the vehicle to get to the driver.
The driver was beyond medical aid and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Semi, who was sleeping in the cab, was not injured.

It's sad, but someone was not paying attention. Someone was speeding and crashed into a parked vehicle.

Who said the vehicle was speeding? Looks like the cause could be “inattention.” With all of today’s distractions, these type of collisions are happening at an alarming rate.
Probably showing off and/or drunk and/or under the influence/or a medical condition-who's to say really just that one person is dead and the other one is mourning
@@wirepaladin4317 The car was stuck to the truck when they lifted it, it went pretty far underneath it, and they even broke the Mansfield bar completely off. Speed was absolutely a factor.

The trailers Icc bumper failed. I was just rear ended a few months back while driving a semi in west Texas. My Icc bumper is the only thing that saved that man’s life. The icc bumper is designed to stop cars from going underneath the trailer in cases like this. It’s sharp parts under there. It’s a gruesome way to die.

For years I've wondered how in the hell people do this. It happens more than you think too. They throttle right into a giant non- moving object and die. I'm sure drugs and alcohol are often a factor but even then how does one drive right into the back of a usually stationary semi trailer. I ponder this as I personally have never come close to doing something this inately stupid in an Automobile and don't comprehend it.
OMG I saw a wreck like this once. It had just happened no emergency personnel yet. Was eerie quit. A van went under an 18 wheeler on the turnpike. The van was completely flattened from the front to 3/4 toward the back of it. There was no possibility of survivers in the van. The 18 wheeler had blown a tire it looked like and the van hit thick tire tread/shreds. That was like 38 years ago and I'll never forget it. The eerie quiet in the air. So sad😢
My uncle was a truck driver. He said never drive behind them. Get away from them asap. I always took that to heart.

Cars like Nissan, Hyundai and Kia use steel from Chiner which is "VERY" soft. When crashing into stationary objects, the soft steel starts to fold in on the passengers and the people in the car start to become flattened. Now they can't breath.

Those bars are completely unregulated in the US in terms of being built to a standard to stop a car from passing under the trailer. In Europe they have a strict standard where the bar is very low to the ground and absolutely cannot deform even if a large heavy car hits at high speed. The driver would have survived if his car’s crash bar made contact with a strong low bar on the trailer instead of his head with the lower edge of the trailer. The cost of a strong bar on the trailer would increase the price of the trailer 3-5% so it is not put on.

Looking at a map the deceased driver may have dui…look at the time. That old law enforcement thought comes to mind…only drunks and criminals are out after midnight. Clearly the driver thought they were in a lane or swerved right into the back of the trailer.

Its just POSSIBLE that the driver suffered a medical event while driving. Just because they were out late doesn’t mean they’re drunks or criminals. As a ride-share driver, Im often out late too.

Could have been a number of things.....Fell asleep, drunk driving, another person left the scene that drove them off the road. Not paying attention. Going too fast and missed a turn for various reasons. Nobody knows unless the passenger finds this post.

No he said “somebody call his wife”. The fiancé of the survivor turned up to the scene. She told another livestreamer that it was her fiancé and her best friends husband in the car. She didn’t know one of them was dead at that point.
