Great video Joe! Man, that was a huge king. I was on a charter in the gulf about 11 years ago and we caught a 5’, but no where’s near as girthy as that beast. Can’t wait for the next one. Figured you were out on a long one with nothing for 3 weeks. Thanks for sharing!!!

Keep the content coming and I would absolutely love to run into you someday my friend!!!!! Was pumped when I saw that you fish here locally for the bluefin!!! 11:44
Thank you brother as you know, there are endless options here. Eastern North Carolina truly is a fishing Mecca. World-class fishing for many species!!!!

Awesome video man. Looks like y'all got a great fishery down there. Great bait farm makes for Epic catches for sure!!! Can't wait to see if your Tuna breaks 1000lbs. Looks like it might!!!
When I fished SKA Tournaments out of Morehead City, most of the big fish were caught right off the beach... Even had a tourney winner caught along the port wall in a little jones brothers flat bottom boat....
drum Inlet? Ouch, beent here done that! sorry we missed you while you were up! Team Pathfinder! oh and Joe We are commercial too can always call me to take those Kings, JD doesn't need any help :)
I live in Beaufort not far from Atlanta Beach were you are.Was told a monster was coming to Port Side Marina and stop in to see and It was the one yall caught. Gotta say congrats on that beasts.Mate on boats and know what that had to be like..
awesome! crazy how word spread that fast. definitely a surreal feeling that ive never had before after we finally got him secured. One of the better moments of my life. was pretty wild to have bill and all the boys down there taking pictures of the fish too, pretty wild. hopefully we can repeat history in a few weeks, come say hey next time!
Great bait tips... i was surpirsed to see however you are able to keep the pogys and bluefish in the same pen.. Ive had so many issues over the years trying to keep pinfish with other baits in the same pen to no prevail. I resorted to having multiple pens, when needed. Ofc pinfish is different, but i thought bluefish would maybe terroize the pogys over long period.
Hey brother luv your content. I have easy rig for live baiting big baits . you might already know it. I use big circle hook with a small circle tied to direct to it just put small circle in upper jaw bait swims perfectly and usually go down and stay. Stay tight brother 🤙
What inlet are y’all at? Your definitely not going out of Morehead inlet if you got stuck. Depends on the fish I run out of topsail to drum. I was out of Morehead running to drum that Saturday morning at 330 am and it was nuts out. Tight lines bro
I was Stripe bass fishing 100 yards off the NJ beach and the bluefin showed up. I heard of them coming in close but I’ve never seen them that close to the beach. People could literally catch them from the surf.
@@joevtfishing I don’t think anyone hooked one from the boats either I was just saying how crazy it was to see them that close. I don’t think they were even feeding on the bunker I think they were cashing the bluefish that were feeding. The reason I say that is because one breached the surface and must have nosed a bluefish because it went flying. I’ve been on plenty of tuna trips to the Hudson canon and have seen them show up 7-10miles off shore at the mud hole but I’ve never seen bluefin tuna that close to the beach. Once I was fishing this spot called 17 fathoms and a huge school of bigeye showed up. I used to always bring a big spinner incase sharks showed up in a cum slick so I was able to land one around 100-120 pounds. Coming home with 70-80 pounds of bigeye tuna for only 50$ bluefishing trip was well worth it.
There were a ton caught from the boats in Jersey this fall within 7 miles of the beach, it was insane the amount of fish that were around and being caught, and also those were not bigeye you saw at 17 fathoms that would all be bluefins, which have been a pretty common occurrence in that area the last couple of years
@@crispychris9492 I guess you didn’t read the part were I said I caught one. I’ve been catching tuna for over 30 years pretty sure I know the difference between the 2. They definitely looks very similar but there is a few small differences between the 2 and what I caught was a bigeye.
@@marcuslarwa9098 I misread the part you said you caught one but the bigeyes are only in the canyons, I’m sure it’s a bluefin they’re relatively common there, and if there was any bigeyes there it would be 1, not a whole school of them, and 17 fathoms is 100 miles from the Hudson canyon so that fish would be lost, I mean I have seen white marlin caught near there and someone even harpooned a free swimming swordfish a couple miles away from there, that swordfish was lost
Albies are the best sashimi I have ever had and I grew up in South Florida. Gotta bleed them and cut the small bit of good meat out of the filet. I was a non believer for years but it is true.
Hey brother, the real Atlantic bonito has razor sharp teeth and only here in NC in the spring for a short time. Look very similar to that false alby. Real bonito is sushi grade fish.
shhhhh nobodys gunna know... yeah by the time i figured that out it was too late to go back and change it. that fish would have won every kingfish event in the history of jacksonville and st augustine. might need to borrow a rich friend with a really fast boat to fish up that way next tournament season

Bluefish that size are my favorite bait they are like Milk Duds for bluefin go down in one easy gulp and they aren't as fast as the big blues.
love them but its hard to beat those shad
Joe is a beast

If you had a kite and the right wind you would have a shot, not a big one but definitely a shot, at hooking one from the beach

I have never seen them in the late fall before. Good to know.
