Great video! We just finished stage 2 for our Mk7 R and are having a blast with it. Cant imagine 3+. Time will tell for longevity but seems well thought out.

Kudos on this video! There is hardly anything out there on the APR Stage 3+ that is interesting and informative. I currently have the APR Stage 2 tune with your 3" downpipe (I made an install video on my channel), and I have been planning to go Stage 3+ but I am concerned about driveability issues such as lag, the reduced redline, traction control, and possible irregular acceleration in various gears and RPMs. Since Chris drives his Stage 3+ everyday, can you guys please make a video with Chris driving and talking about the driveablity of the stage 3+. Thanks!
May be in the works! As for drivability, Chris makes the .:R his daily. Never had any problems with it averaging around 30mpg. You can hardly tell the kit is there besides the turbo noise lingering in the background. But once you give the car throttle past 3k rpm, those extra injectors start firing and things get serious!
Hey USP Motorsports, what will need to be done to get this kind of power? Downpipe, full exhaust, intercooler, turbo upgrade and a tune? Is there anything i'm missing? Does the clutch has to be upgraded in the dsg ones or manual ones? or can the stock clutch handle the power? No full exhaust. The rest, yes. Also want to upgrade the fuel system for Stage 3+. Stock clutch will hold up a while on DSG. Manual would be toast. You really want a DSG clutch pack though. ;)
I added up everything you would need to have done to the engine for a comfortable and reliable build and it came out to about $15k. That's a lot yes, on top of e $40k you spend on the car itself, however, $50k is not a lot when you can DESTROY just about any super car short of a Bugatti and still carry 5 people comfortably XD
Who thumbs down a 500hp Golf R? I have to say, I've always loved the MK4 R32, but I think I have a new favorite. Nothing beats the technology coming out now-a-days. This is the ultimate sleeper.

Piston jump out and brake sump i dont know what else, just looking for new engine now. That happend to me after 20thousand of km. Gl on your stage3+ from apr.

Thats disappointing cause you still need stage 3 on the golf, and sacrifice balance to get there while the 996 only needed a chip which doesnt throw the balance off if it even does.

Ive read these new m7s MQB platform are so over engineered that they can make power real easy with software and additional bolt ons. Hence factory put limiters when releasing into different markets to meet power restriction laws etc.

Not to down play this video. The APR Stage 1 "High Torque" file gives several muscle cars a run for their money. Not to mention the Stage 2's throttle response vs Stage 1 is well worth the money!

This golf r , gives you the peace of mind that you will dust 99% of all cars at a red light , other cars might catch up later on but from a dig , very very few cars do 0 to 60 in less than 3.5 seconds

Increases clamping pressure, amongst other things -- They do offer clutch packs, but we don't even them on this car. We are testing the durability of it without them. We beat the hell out of the car and we have seen 0 problems.

Why do you need a sedan? R has a good amount of room. Put the rear seats down and you can haul a ton in there. I had 4 wheels/tires and plenty of room for at least 3-4 more.

Should last a decent time as it is. As we creep up into the 500+ range with supporting mods. We expect we will reach a breaking point, but as for now. The kit has an extreme amount of launches, miles, races under its belt and nothing has happened. Not one APR Stage 3+ MQB car has blown up. Meanwhile, its competitors in the Stage 3 MQB world, have blown up multiple cars.

Rods and pistons would be something engine wise, but the transmission won't hold 600+ | Alot of people compare the APR kit to the TTE600 car (Dave). That guy has dropped prob 80k+ into that car in engine and transmission.

GTR weighs an extra 500 lbs.... physics, but the GTR is easily modded as well. But to run 10's.. the S3 gets there at under 50k. The GTR... 10's will cost you well over 100k. And the proof of a Stage 3 S3/Golf R running 10's is an easy youtube search away. Just type, "Stage 3 S3 or Golf R"

Depends I had a wrx 10 years ago and still like the rawness of a evo/sti/wrx/Focus RS.It's something special that you can't feel with most cars.
Ex Evo owner and I now drive a WRX. The answer to your question is no, we won't shift to cars like this. At least I won't.

The S6 kept up good. And in the launch from idle against the S6, vw dude jumped way early. The S6 would be a huge match up.

They build the engine for the Stage 3. It's about $18k to go full Stage 3.
Did you have to constantly change clutch packs to handle the power rather that a upgraded clutch for people that have manuals

You cant really chip tune a naturally aspirated engine.. I mean you can, but you will gain 5 hp :)
I am curious - 3.5 0-60mph. However i have seen stage 1 mk7 golf R's doing a 3.6 0-100km/h? I thought a stage 3 would go low 3 seconds

Stage 1 DSG will beat most stock V8's no problem. Without a perfect launch from the Dodge, you can easily beat Hellcats in 1/4 no problem.

Thats 3.5sec 0-60 with 100+ launches that day and SERIOUS heat soak. It was about 95 degrees that day.

DSG and 6-Speed are a close competition. We see the DSG edge out the manual cars due to the impressive magnetic clutch.

nobody said it will last that long, but yeh its on stock internals.
Should last a decent time as it is. As we creep up into the 500+ range with supporting mods. We expect we will reach a breaking point, but as for now. The kit has an extreme amount of launches, miles, races under its belt and nothing has happened. Not one APR Stage 3+ MQB car has blown up. Meanwhile, its competitors in the Stage 3 MQB world, have blown up multiple cars.
+USP Motorsports what are the weak points of the engine? Apart from rods and Pistons is I wanted to be in the mid 600 range what would be the biggest challenge? Can that turbo support more? Would I need to change fuel pump?
Rods and pistons would be something engine wise, but the transmission won't hold 600+ | Alot of people compare the APR kit to the TTE600 car (Dave). That guy has dropped prob 80k+ into that car in engine and transmission.
So are you saying that if you swap in the 700ft/lb disks that the DSG still won't hold?

GTR weighs an extra 500 lbs.... physics, but the GTR is easily modded as well. But to run 10's.. the S3 gets there at under 50k. The GTR... 10's will cost you well over 100k. And the proof of a Stage 3 S3/Golf R running 10's is an easy youtube search away. Just type, "Stage 3 S3 or Golf R"
An extra 500 lbs. REALLY shows when racing from a roll if both cars have the same hp. Power to weight ratio makes a HUGE difference!
