    Absolutely enough power, don’t forget all WW2 Jeeps were 4 cylinders 😊

    I put Turbo on my yj. It drives like normal until i put my foot in it. The 4cyl seems to be fine with a little boost. It's most helpful on the interstate.

    This was a really fun project Jeep to watch you guys build week after week. That squeak is killing, but it’s probably just something stupid. Can’t wait to see how the LJ build turns out!

      I have a 4 cylinder and take it on trails all the time. Its actually got more than enough power if you change the gearing and it actually takes a lot of strain off of the axels. Less power but more control and it is also 600 lbs lighter than the 4.0 so it actually gives you a lot of power to ground on 33's. :)

  • @gorillahd9247
    @gorillahd9247 Год назад +4

    Everything depends on the gearing. 4.88's would make that a trail monster. 4.56 for a middle performance road/trail rig.

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  Год назад +2

      Yeah.. for us the gearing is more to make it better off road. 4 lo and manual even with 4.10s were great

    That looks like such a beautiful area! I was just actually at Canmore up here in May and went down some roads that look very similar to some of those trails. I did it by myself and I do wish I had someone with me, but it was still beautiful and peaceful!

    I dig it , I also have a 2.5 liter ,
    4 banger
    It’s slow but it’s extremely reliable,dependable and fun to drive
    I m running 33’s Mickey Thompson Baja legends mud terrain with a 2.5” lift
    A slip yoke eliminator
    Heavy duty rear driveshaft
    Ultra black rims
    A garvin wilderness swing out tire carrier with two gas can holders,hi lift jack holder ,axe and shovel holder
    Heavy duty front suspension system
    Sway bar quick disconnect
    Hd tie rod
    Hd trac bar
    Hd drag link bar
    steering stabilizer
    All new ball joints
    Chromoly axles with stainless steel timken wheel bearings and hub
    Frameless top
    Everything has been replaced or upgraded
    Next I want to go with either 4.56 or 4.88 gears and lockers
    So I dig it hitting the California mountains around may
    Thanks for the video and info

    Do you know what that squeak is coming from? I have a 97 tj that has that squeak and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from.

    It's not about power it's about the differential. If you're running a Dana 35 then 33's are the biggest tire you can run. And better be easy on the skinny pedal.

    You could always throw a 4.0L throttle body on for a little more power

    I would assume that the roof/luggage rack restricts opening the convertible top.

    You should have two handguns with extra clips and one rifle. This country is really messed up. Don’t let her get hurt. And always cover your plates

    What lift?
    What do you think of the tires? I’d been eyeballing those.
    Considering a similar build in the not too distant future.

    Need to unhook the sway bars for a smoother ride.

      Not necessarily smoother. Just more capable over uneven terrain

    • @cbmadcow
      @cbmadcow Год назад

      People have but it is totally not recommended. A 31" tire has already caused my tailgate to sag to the point where I did a spare tire delete.
