I've seen them live 3 times. The wall of sound, strobelights and the pressure in your chest from the drums was amazing. No other band has ever come close.
lame, i love to hear the audience roar! add the audience for real live concert! If we wanted to hear a studio version remake, we can listen to the record. Awesome song and band though!

Dear oh dear Matt - too much time on your hands? I can assure you, this is a live recording which took place in April 2009 at The Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. As others have pointed out above, the reason it has a "studio" quality to it is because it has been professionally recorded. This particular recording also features on Mogwai's 2010 live album "Special Moves". So in summary - I was not trying to pull a fast one by describing this as a live performance. Thanks for being so vigilant though :-)
I wish I could hear random people talking to each other in the audience though, and it's not the same without the sound of empty bottles clattering into bins aka "the acoustics of the space" for that 'real live' experience.

They used to close with that back in the Rock Action days. Batcat became their closer several years ago. Both fucking brutal closers that killed it.
