    Add a 1/3 tsp of baking powder to the dry mix and really amp up the crispiness.

    I used this method and my husband LOVED it. I used smoked paprika. I also sprinkled a little seasoning salt on it after it came out of the oil.

      @obliterator deathcon 4 I don't find that paprika has much of a spicy flavour

    • @jasonmccool4342
      @jasonmccool4342 5 лет назад +16

      @obliterator deathcon 4 if you put a lot of anything in something, the flavour of it, increases. I'm just trying to say that paprika is one of the most mild spices, and certainly - in my experience anyway - wouldn't be one that people consider spicy, in that it doesn't have any heat, nor does it have an abundance of flavour. But I suppose it comes down to individual taste buds as well. And yes, paprika is one of those spices that works very well in huge quantities. I too put it in my fish mixture

    I put anything i flour to fry in the fridge for 15 to 20 min or 5 to 10 min in the freezer. I find that the breading sticks better before you fry things.

    I never tried pollock filets before. I like frying flounder filets. Then making a fish sandwich with a garlic spread toasted bun in the toaster oven. And some provolone cheese slices. I use McCormicks fish fry breading. If I have lettuce I put that on the sandwich too.

    Yeah, no need for egg unless you LIKE a whole bunch of breading around your fish. I like my fish the way Philly Boy Jay does it cause it comes out thinly crispy. If you want thick breading, then use the egg in your batter.

And to keep them fully crisp sit the bag underneath a cooling take while the fish rest on it. They will stay extra crispy all the way around. Keep up the great work 😜😊🙃

    It always makes sense to me to mix your seasonings together then mix well then mix in with your flour and cornmeal

    Garlic, in moderate amounts, is a necessity for fish. It really compliments the flavor.

    I think the egg wash is better if you like a thicker batter, & let it sit in remaining flour/cornmeal/bread crumbs in the fridge for a couple hours
