- You really enjoyed my time lapses of a McDonald's paper cup, Big Mac, and fries, so I decided to do another. This time, I put a McDonald's McFlurry to the test of time. It might not look it, but it was really bad-smelling.

I'd be curious what sorts of bacteria were active in this. Obvious fermentation of some sort. Maybe biobag and send to a university for study

Fascinating! McFlurries seem to evolve into cheesy chili when left out long enough! Perhaps a similar process explains the McRib?! Time to order the McChicken! We have science to conduct!!
The foam was just excess milk with the food coloring of the minis and excess sugar in the chocolate left over but the ice cream is still white in the bottom look again it's not all dried out like a frosty would be. I think mcdonald's is the only one using kosher ingredients that's why isn't not molded they do things the way they do to keep them fresh while it breaks down in our system or else we would be eating rotten food like most restaurants serve without even knowing what they are selling you.
Wow! I am so glad I do not consume them. What got me was that not even mold was growing! What kind of stuff is in them??? 😝
It's just my two cents, but I'd say the sugar content was too high for mold to grow. High concentrations of sugar can create a hostile environment for mold and bacteria due to osmotic pressure. It cann draw water out of microbial cells dehydrating and killing them.
It was likely fermentation is what was happening instead of mold.

I really want to know how it smelled in the end
It smelled worse than it looked. Usually it's the other way around, and some of my projects look way worse than they smell. This was very strong

It's because I masked out the background in post production in a way that added a vignette, making the spotlight effect of the lamp stronger. I'm happy you like it :)

This one smelled really bad, but not all of my projects do. Meat based ones are the worst, of course, after that egg, milk, watermelon was a heavy one...
I air the studio often, and pay close attention to cleanliness, that way it's managable.

Well it's probably the most natural thing other than the salads, milk jug, and apple slices on the McDonald's menu. Finding a McDonald's that has their Ice Cream Machine on, now there's the bigger issue. Remember 9/10 it ain't broken, the workers just don't want to clean the blasted thing.

The mcflurry was producing lots of gas or doing something with all that bubbling, probably fermented forbidden pancakes.

I loved it when it started to "cook" and bubble. Looks like ya left it on too long, cause it ended up brown and burnt!

Thanks for watching! Great question, probably some gas buildup caused the bubbling, but I'm not completely sure because the mcflurry seemed to have holes on it the whole time, so any gas could have escaped through those holes without making it bubble.
