The test is always how United plays against the "lesser" sides. We've always been good at defending deep and counter attacking, I think the passing while chance creating is the one that stands out to me and they did well in that regard.
This is definitely important too but what’s promising is we are looking good and it’s clear to see we have been working on our ‘game model’. I think against the so called ‘lesser’ teams I think this is where the full backs are going to be an important in the attacking phases/final third. Also having a CF like Zhirkzee who has good link up play, strength and dribbling is going to be helpful (Hojlund’s still needs to develop this part of his game). That plus having solid options on the bench to change the game and have an impact is going to give Ten Hag alot of tactical options.
@@adaldi_ United will play better against smaller teams because of Deligt and Yoro I mentioned earlier that there is always a vacuum between United's defensive line and midfield because they have slow defenders who are more comfortable staying behind but Martinez, Yoro and Deligt can close that vacuum. They also have good attacking tactics of late playing in tight places with Amad and partially playing out from the back but can express that fully when the new center backs come in they are very important because even the smaller teams always had space through United's midfield and they lost games for such reason but this season is already looking different

Last season was a shambles because the rotations through injury never allowed for the back four to settle into a system, and without that none of Ten Hag's plans and tactics could be implemented and he was always trying to find short termfixes. And that is not where his talent lies. The new ownership at Old Trafford need to implement whatever back room systems that are required allow the manager to have as full and fit a squad as possible and then we will see how good he is.

United will be dangerous this season once the defenders who can play out from the back get into the team Deligt and Yoro are the key alongside Martinez. Maguire and Evans could not play a complete high line and I saw spaces between the defence and midfield once again. A fully experienced city team would have caused problems with that. If they can be good on the ball with Maguire and Evans I think something is cooking in the background for Deligt , Yoro and Martinez as center backs.. the high line enables players to press easily when they lose the ball and in terms of creativity when they move the ball around there are options, passing lines open and you have control. You are more compact and the game flows from there, once the defenders have recovery pace and a sweeper keeper it is difficult to go long against them. I personally didn't believe sacking ETH was the best decision I hope he does well this season

You also must switch quickly- ditto Kobi Maino goal in FA Cup final. Otherwise- yes you 'can' win it, yes you can lose and especially.... yes you can draw or lose in a high scoring match... nothing concrete. It is like playing Blackjack by betting on and against your own first hand. Man City is not the measure- this is too soon to think ETH is going to do well. It is those other (10) 5th-14th teams that really matter. Essentially ETH was subsidizing his attacks by Onana touches. The plan should mix it up with Onana targeted long passes, practiced for receiving one touch pass to a spaced teammate who knew exactly what Onana would do. Lastly; the Onana type kickstart has to be done in the middle. Depending on the back-start is what for LVG in trouble.

Rashford is inconsistent & performed badly for most seasons . He is not clinical except for one season or two . Cannot dribble nor cross well , pace is not great as a winger .
