      I have a message for those in charge of our work. Do not encourage the men who are to engage in this work to think that they must proclaim the solemn, sacred message in a theatrical style. Not one jot or tittle of anything theatrical is to be brought into our work. God’s cause is to have a sacred, heavenly mold. Let everything connected with the giving of the message for this time bear the divine impress. Let nothing of a theatrical nature be permitted, for this would spoil the sacredness of the work. 19MR 125.1

    The lead actress, Tommy-Amber Pirie, is well known and acclaimed for her work in sexually perverse films. While she previously portrayed the church leader, Ellen White, in a similar film for our church, Tell The World (2016), she later followed with, The Retreat (2021), a slasher-horror film in which she plays the lesbian lover of another protagonist. One of her previous credits included a film called, How To Plan An Orgy. There's another with a title I would not repeat. These are only a few film credits in the same vein.
    She is then chosen a second time, to portray Ellen White, a woman of profound spiritual piety and insight, a leading pioneer of our church.
    A cursory view of the other actors and their film history produces similar credits to Toomy-Amber Pirie
    Of course, you will say it is "only acting". You will deny any spiritual influence such an actor could bring to her role, though even actors themselves declare this to be the essence of their craft. They see themselves as truth tellers through works of fiction, searching to portray the most profound spiritual experiences of a corrupt humanity.
    "To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled. They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work."
    - Titus 1:15-16
    Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
    “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
    and I will be their God,
    and they shall be my people.
    Therefore go out from their midst,
    and be separate from them, says the Lord,
    and touch no unclean thing;
    then I will welcome you,
    and I will be a father to you,
    and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
    says the Lord Almighty.”
    Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
    - 2 Corinthians 6:14 - 7:1
    I hope you have the courage to keep this comment visible.
    You're endorsement, your production and promotion of this film fills me with sadness as I consider the Laodicean condition of our church

      @@AdventistOrgChurch If I am mistaken about the facts please correct me. If the facts are as I've stated them are you still standing by your endorsement? I sincerely don't understand your rationale for promoting such an enterprise, this union with unbelievers, if I understand the facts correctly. I do believe church members should have an official explanation of why this is acceptable in your eyes.

      I wouldn’t be surprised if God is trying to reach her this way, then have her to be picked again, wow! Who knows what God is doing? It’s just hard for me to underestimate God’s love now so I dare not speak against Love that is progressive in the hearts of mankind. God tell His people not to worship man, then sends Jesus in form of a man so I conclude we just have to walk side by side with God the whole way in order to understand the beauty of love or we’ll find ourselves talking bad about Jesus for hanging around tax collectors and sinners. I’m not saying anyone is right or wrong, I just know I’m the chief of sinners and seeing the way God worked in my life, it just best for me to be still and know that He is God.

      @@Corey4Jesus I understand what you're saying. I'm a recovering addict myself, a prodigal son twice over. I would have no doubt that God is doing all he can for us throughout our lives. For myself as well as for this actress I would have to stand on Scripture. Having compassion for unbelievers, for those deep in idolatry, does not mean that we bond with them In the Masters service. We are not to be "unequally yoked".
      Psalms 1 and 2, combining to form the gateway into the Psalms, teaches the same lesson. I'll simply quote the first Psalm here. Combining this with 2nd Corinthians 6:14-7:1, we are not left in doubt about God's will and ways in defining the boundaries of our relationships with unbelievers.
      "Blessed is the man
      who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
      nor stands in the way of sinners,
      nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
      but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
      and on his law he meditates day and night.
      He is like a tree
      planted by streams of water
      that yields its fruit in its season,
      and its leaf does not wither.
      In all that he does, he prospers.
      The wicked are not so,
      but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
      Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
      nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
      for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
      but the way of the wicked will perish.
      - Psalm 1:1-6 ESV

      @@janmckenzie I agree that we’re not to be unequally yoked and don’t recommend theaters. I’m just saying I just keep my silence and allow God to help those who know better because you never know what God is doing. When I use to go to movies my favorite part was the trailers, so even if one go and see that movie, Satan can get them through the trailers of what’s coming in the future. If you feel the need to take a stand and say something, then stand up if you believe God is placing it on your heart. Thanks for caring. And yes we are not to partnership with Satan, I agree. I must admit, I did watch tell it to the world and liked it but I’m not going to go around saying it’s best for others to watch it, or not.

      Thank you for standing for truth. 🙏Principle is key! Prayerfully read this counsel.
      Ev 137 “I have a message for those in charge of our work. Do not encourage the men who are to engage in this work to think that they must proclaim the solemn message in a theatrical style. Not one jot or tittle of anything theatrical is to be brought into our work. God's cause is to have a sacred, heavenly mold. Let everything connected with the giving of the message for this time bear the divine impress. Let nothing of a theatrical nature be permitted, for this would spoil the sacredness of the work.”
      Ev 139 “Our success will depend on carrying forward the work in the simplicity in which Christ carried it forward, without any theatrical display.”
      Ev 396.2 “In our work we are not to go onto a hilltop to shine. We are not told that we must make a special, wonderful display. The truth must be proclaimed in the highways and the byways, and thus work is to be done by sensible, rational methods. The life of every worker, if he is under the training of the Lord Jesus Christ, will reveal the excellence of His life. The work that Christ did in our world is to be our example, as far as display is concerned. We are to keep as far from the theatrical and the extraordinary as Christ kept in His work. Sensation is not religion, although religion will exert its own pure, sacred, uplifting, sanctifying influence, bringing spiritual life, and salvation.”
      11MR 338.1 “There is an abundance of theatrical performances in our world, but in its highest order it is without God.”
      9MR 387.2 “Those who make use of devices that are theatrical in nature, to hold the attention of the people, lose the realization of the presence of Christ. Those who use so much time in preparing for their meetings, depending to a large extent on outward appearance to impress the people, give Jesus no opportunity to work on hearts. They mingle the common with the sacred.”
      2MR 246.3 . “Satan's ruling passion is to pervert the intellect and cause men to long for shows and theatrical performances.”
      AH 515.4 “The true Christian will not desire to enter any place of amusement or engage in any diversion upon which he cannot ask the blessing of God. He will not be found at the theater,”
      AH 516.1 “To those who plead for these diversions we answer, We cannot indulge in them in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. The blessing of God would not be invoked upon the hour spent at the theater…. No one would wish to be found there when Christ shall come.”
      AH 516.2 “There is no influence in our land more powerful to poison the imagination, to destroy religious impressions, and to blunt the relish for the tranquil pleasures and sober realities of life than theatrical amusements. The love for these scenes increases with every indulgence as the desire for intoxicating drink strengthens with its use. The only safe course is to shun the theater, the circus, and every other questionable place of amusement.”
      General Conference Committee, March 10, 1937 “There is, first of all, a fundamental distinction between natural pictures, or pictures of real life, and pictures of dramatized theatrical plots. This is a basic line of demarcation. By the former are meant scenes which are reproduced through the motion-picture camera wholly of natural life…. In contrast, there are the motion pictures of dramatized theatrical plots, usually produced by professional actors and actresses. The very principle upon which these are constructed is inherently wrong, and cannot be approved or condoned by the church. The history and the present estate of theatrical drama show it to be opposed to the highest ideals of morality, and alien to spiritual life. Its themes are built upon human passion. Theatrical films are evil in their influence, and consequently unacceptable, because they confuse the thinking of our people regarding the Seventh-day Adventist attitude toward the theater, the opera, and novel reading; because they create an appetite for emotional reaction which can be satisfied only by further indulgence; and because they make an unwarranted play, upon the emotions. This is wrong, because emotional stimulation without appropriate action is destructive to character development. Pictures which play upon the emotions create an appetite for the sensational, causing the individual to live in the realm of the unreal, destroying responsiveness to duty, and resulting in emotional instability. The motion-picture house has so popularized the theater that millions are daily in attendance at exhibitions which can only exert an influence toward lowered standards of Christian purity. We believe that to no small degree it is responsible for the present breakdown of morality. There can therefore be no compromise here without tragic loss and fundamental mistake. While it may be necessary at times to go to theatrical buildings for evangelistic meetings, or to hear wholesome lectures or musical concerts, we should avoid, just as far as possible, attendance at places devoted to shows and theatrical performances.”
      With such basic principles clearly established and accepted in our selection of films, we are convinced that certain motion pictures can be used effectively and helpfully in God's cause, for purposes of education, enlightenment, and wholesome entertainment.”
      II. UNACCEPTABLE FILMS
      a. Films portraying Christ and inspired men…….”
