From my current understanding, the 10 commandments were, at that time, part of the covenantal agreement between God and Israel. It is interesting to note that God wrote the 10 commandments with His own finger. Again, you are correct. The Bible is littered with verses referring to Mt Horeb with language that indicates it is Mt Sinai. Am I wrong to assume this is widely accepted?

My first question to you was to promote discussion and to steer such discussion in a particular direction. I most certainly do not believe in the abolition of the 10 Commandments. I wasn't lying when I said my health was declining. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (yes, I'm talking about my health on a public forum, but this doesn't bother me). My symptoms have been in an ebb and flow style (actually this is common, if not standard for those with CFS). I'd love to continue this discussion. But to put it simply, I just don't have the mental energy to continue, let alone remembering to respond. I may come back to this once I make some progress in recovering. How about encouraging people to be more informed, to develop critical thinking instead of taking advantage of the emotional needs of unsuspecting audience? It is lamentable that those who stand in front of a congregation who are emotionally needy, tell them all kinds of stories while they (the supposed preachers) live in great material comfort. I you are a christian - as you really love to tell people - you would know that in the Bible it mentions that the son of man did not have a comfortable corner to put his head on. He was interested in humanity and not his material comfort. I am sure you will go to great lengths trying to argue that there is nothing wrong with accumulating wealth and living comfortably. There are other professions for that. Once you start thinking of means to augment your bank account, you no longer have the right to be called pastor this or elder that. Once the financial gains of a so called pastor becomes more than the members of the church, he should be exposed and got rid of. The task of preaching is a wrong task for cleverly concealed money hungry. Well, be honest with yourself and also read those parts of the Bible that you and others like you rather gloss over. [Fundamentals of the Christian Education page 475.] " On these themes, silence is eloquent." Sins belong between His people and Himself. How would you like it if your sins were all brought out into the political arena for all to witness and decide whether or not the church is doing the right thing in regards to your sins? Ellen White is correct. This is not an issue to blame upon either the leadership of God's church or any person. To murmur and judge the leadership of the church is to judge God and His leadership.

Some regional Adventist leaders argue that regional conferences (a euphemism for racial separation) helped to spark church growth for minorities. Whereas that is true beyond doubt, on the other hand this antiquated structure has caused a cultural rift that has strengthened through the years; a division that the Almighty frowns upon. Adventist churches may have grown, but races grew apart. Time and time again--for over 40 years--l have heard disgruntled Black ministers and laymen express their disapproval of the denominational status quo: segregation at General Conference dining halls and racial discrimination in the educational system. Although this may have been in the not-so-distant past, we should have known this would eventually come to a head; especially since we currently fail to live up to the divine precepts so graciously handed to us (1 Peter 4:17/Jude 3). But due to the BLACK LIVES MATTER Movement, Black leaders of other denominations have found sympathizers and easy access in the Adventist church; the result, pan-Africanism has permeated traditional Black Adventist worship styles. What does the future hold for our sect? Only the word of God can tell.
