I'm currently running a HRM master's degree in HR and it is truly not easy. In fact, the course itself can be likened to people. One moment, you think you have them figured out and the next, you're wondering, "can I ever understand people???" 😄😄 No need to ask how are you? You glow girl!! A diploma will be your first option. Get HR education and you will be in a better position to apply for jobs. Managing a team as a team leader is different from managing them as HR, from what I have seen here in Canada

No, diplomas are more common and you can get an entry level job with a diploma. There are some roles you may not be able to transition into without a degree, so that is where the degree is an advantage.

Age is not really a barrier to switching careers in Canada. It is not legal to be discriminated on the basis of age. It happens though but not as obvious.

Maybe you need to do a skill assessment to see where the gap is. Education only accounts for a part of requirements, the knowledge, skills and abilities make up the larger part.
For someone interested in HR coming into Canada via the study visa which is the best route to take . A masters degree in HR or a diploma certificate in HR?
Do you have prior HR experience? if you don't, i will say take the diploma option. A masters degree may make you overqualified for entry level positions and you need the experience. But if you already have experience, then a masters may help you advance.

Unfortunately, cipm doesnt count for anything in the cphr journey because CIPM hasnt gotten the necessary international recognition...I have cipm too...a degree or masters in HR will grant you associate membership and then u can take the NKE exams

Canada places more emphasis on experience than education. If you haven't practiced in 10years, you will need the diploma and start from an entry level role. You can take an online diploma from the UK or in person if you are moving to Canada.
