In the second round of The RSM Classic 2018, Cameron Champ birdied his last four holes on his way to carding a 7-under 63, getting him to 11-under for the tournament and tied for second with Jason Gore at just three back of leader Charles Howell III heading into the weekend.
The RSM Classic is contested on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Resort in Georgia. In 2017, Austin Cook held off veterans Brian Gay, Chris Kirk, Kevin Kisner and Brian Harman and closed with a 3-under 67 for a four-stroke victory over J.J. Spaun.

This kid is the truth. My goodness. Every time I see him I’m more impressed. Most impressed I’ve been of a young player since Tiger
His putting stroke reminds me of Tiger's, just so pure it's not even fair.
it does, good point
Riley Pupkin nope. Not forgetting him. Jordan was special obviously. Resume speaks for itself. What I see in Cameron is the raw physical tools which you never saw with Jordan. Jordan had the tenacity and mental game but not just pure talent. This kid has the raw physical talent that I haven’t seen from a player this early in his career other than Tiger
Is he a rookie..are you sure? 4 starts,2 top10,1 win...
Courney Hallcy I’ve been saying this since seeing him on the web during the summer. He is the full package and I believe he could end up winning a lot of majors
Good video PGA. Like seeing this guy swing it
I see a major CHAMP in 2019!
Announcers mention he plays conservative with a driving three iron off tee yet he hits that 280+ carry with roll out to nearly 295yrds!! Hits 8 iron 185 and throws darts! On top of it all, he can roll the ball!
Rookie of the year... 100%
This is phenomenal 😯👍🏌️♂️
Did I get this wrong, or did he HIT A 220 YARD 7-iron..?
This guy hits it long. Almost as long as Mark Crossfield.
Yeah little short due the cold weather
Warm weather that's an 8 iron
Landed 216 down fan
bunkerputt Crossfield hits a solid 262 off the tee. That’s probably a regular 5 iron for Champ 😂
185 yards, uses an 8 iron. Goodness. His swing doesn’t even look like he’s clobbering it.
Hallelujah that’s an easy knock down for champ, I’m sure he was on a par 5 in a different tournament around 210 or 220 and he hit 8 iron, in warm weather
Cameron is the real deal for sure . 👍👍.
Yes please!
Gottttttta love this kid, such a plair
Wow very impressive.
Good family oriented sport. Good to have some inspiration and aspiration
very smooth swing
First major next year I think.
champ in the making right here
I bet he would win 5+ majors!
Next...Big... Thing!!!
The guy can just rip the ball. He has the best name. No matter if he wins or loses he is still a Champ. Haha.
facts
It's NEW...!
Not sure if the people editing these clips have a clue about golf. Still this kid is exciting to watch!
You are not even going to post his final score? They are his highlights FFS!
Averaging 335 off the tee this guy is awesome
The US Open has his name all over it. 280 yard 3 irons shaped down the middle and then 220 yard 7 irons into tucked pins on 500 yard Par 4s. If the kid can chip from thick rough he will lap the field Tiger Style. The fact that he has a nice 3/4qtr controlled flighted iron game already is going to send 1/2 the tour into earlier retirement by the end of the season. The sound of his 'controlled' iron shots is amazing
He's really playing a Tiger like game, unprecedentedly long for the time, irons off of tees.
It might be too early to say but.. could this guy be a 5-10 major talent? Haven’t seen this much potential from a rookie maybe ever.. besides tiger.
a bit early
2:50 carries an iron 281
New era begins...
Think we are watching history in progress, he is the only real threat to Tigers records
Umm....a threat to Tigers records? A player like Tiger comes along once every 40-50 years. The kid is seriously talented but we haven't even seen him in a major yet. But he should have a nice career ahead of him if he stays on trajectory
I see a breakout year in wins for Champ. Mark my words he will will accumulate numerous wins over the course of time
Athletic swing
3:19 is unreal i mean holyyyyy shit thats pure
check out 2:41...ball carried 281 and curved 4 feet
His swing reminds me of Tigers 94-97 swing!
not even close. Champ creates a tremendous amount of lag, and appears much smoother and more effortless. Tiger created speed through sheer aggression and force. he never had as much beauty or flow to his swing, even in the late 90's as this kid does.
@@bradleycoopersmith5699 Just look at the swing ok. What your saying about Champs swing was part of Woods' back then in the 90s! He became more and more jumpy, sure, but back in the 90s he has the same smoother accelerating swing... he could also reach the same swing speeds back then.
@@maxcaysey2844 I took another look, and it's not even close. I would agree that Tiger's swing in the early 90's was smoother and more upright, and powerful, but it has NONE of the grace and fluidity of CC. Also, Champ clears his left side far faster and allows the club to lag FAR more than TW ever could or did. it's about appearance...CC creates power and distance without SEEMING to do so, (I'd say his ball and swing speeds far exceed Tiger), while TW of say 1997, went after it much harder and more violently.
Yea that was a 220yd 7iron that serious
Looks like someone to bet on for a major next year
He's back again , Babe
The new Tiger.
yes
No don't compare him to tiger.
madhav arora his game is very similar to tigers though. Huge distance coupled with great putting. Just a bit more distance and a bit worse putting
@@lukegrover5872 there are many players who were compared to tiger.... famous examples are Rory McIlroy and Jordan spieth but now tell me can you say that they are as consistent as tiger was?
Spieth had a magical year rory had great years.. as of Rory i can say he is half of woods but nobody can achieve the greatness of 🐅
Champ is playing so well 4 starts,2 top10, 1 win and still long way to go....he is too good...i hope he stay consistent
Tiger reached 191 mph ball speed in 2006... why do the commentators talk like 178 is fast?
185yd 8 iron without a full follow through 🙄
얘아빠 흑인이던데 생긴건백인 얘머임?
