2020 went past in a flash but looking back at the year a lot happened! Here's a little round up of our 2020 renovations. Thank you for keeping us going this year x

My husband and I have never been smokers so I was shocked the 1st time you said those walls could be covered in nicotine but I just sat stunned when you started cleaning the ceiling and it was coming off!!! Seeing it again still stuns me that anybody could live with that but the " labor intensive cleaning" you did is amazing & stunning. Seeing it again still stuns me at the change in the room and all it needed( I' m not minimizing the job at all) was a cleaning.!! Unbelievable! Some people would have just covered the walls in drywall and been done. Your choice is admirable!! Sandi

For a couple of 'non-professionals', you both have achieved SO much and have done yourselves proud. I'd say I can't wait to see it finished, but I can. I've been enjoying the process and the videos, so very much. Well done guys!!

@@houdin1092 was just thinking that. I hope they tested for it and lead. My terrace resto has really been bogged down from uncovering loads of lead paint and having to put it right. Also my plaster has asbestos reinforcing it so couldn’t just knock it down etc in some rooms

It's amazing what you can achieve with imagination and hard work. The house had good bones also, but the state it was in would have made it very difficult for a normal person to look past. The amount of work and dedication you've put into that is amazing. Very well done! Much love!

Haha yes, I feel like putting together a little scrapbook of the dining room so that I can be that annoying person who gets it out when we have guests around just to show them that ceiling!! 😂 Thanks Moria x

When you’re in the middle of a long renovation, it can be easy to just focus on all that you have left to do. How lovely to be able to look back on all that you’ve already accomplished 😊

Oh Laura. Loved this. We bought a 1950’s wreak of a house on half an acre of land. We’ve never even discussed rennovations before. I still don’t really know how it happened. We just saw what it could be and did it. Sadly I was the proud owner of a baby and a toddler and the house wasn’t liveable and we couldn’t have the kids on a building site. So I moved the kids into a rental and my husband worked with an army of trades men for 3 months. It cost over £100K. We loved the process and have the bug now. My biggest regret in life is not choosing to do exactly what you are doing before the kids. We could never now do that slow burn of a transformation where you save money and get the joy of doing it yourself. I also look around at my house and there are so many things I don’t love because I had to make a house load of decisions in one go without ever living in it. Mostly things that can be undone when I get the balls to tell my husband. But still.... I live through you Laura and I love your content. X

What you have achieved is amazing. Especially seeing all those before clips (I had forgotten how bad it looked in the beginning) and what you have turned your house into. You can be so proud of yourselves! What a journey. I am really excited about what you will do and change in 2021! 👏👏👏

That toilet wall paper was a time capsule! So interesting to see history on those walls. I loved the Quote on the toilet wall" Rags makes Paper -Paper makes Money -Money makes Banks -Banks make Loans - Loans make Beggars - Beggars make Rags. 💜
A great job on your dining room. What a difference! That is what brought me to your channel. 😊
I'm so glad I found someone else who removed their own ceilings!! We just did it this weekend and it was a point of the renovation where I thought I was losing all hope haha!! Your home looks absolutely amazing and you've done an incredible job - the before and after of the living room is mind blowing. Cannot wait to have made all the progress you have and good luck with the rest of it xxx

Your channel really has inspired so many people do to more DIYs - me included! We're renovating our bathrooms and you've convinced me that even if something takes longer than you think, you can still do it with some time, research, and planning! (Can't wait for our renos to be done though HAH!) Happy two years to the house and the awesome work y'all have done, Laura and Ollie!

I grew up in a smokers house and know what a job it is to clean. Your dining room was such a jewel waiting to be revealed and you are both so impressive with your work ethic and talent. That wall color is so beautiful. You’ve really inspired me to be a little bolder and take a few risks. I have so enjoyed the journey so far and look forward to seeing your vision unfold. You two are such an inspiration for me to keep going at the work we do at our house. We flipped some rooms ourselves and hired a contractor to get rid of some walls and open things up. Everytime I see I new video pop up it gives me energy to keep going and imagine all the other things we can do in our house and all the things you can learn to do yourself and become skilled it. Keep going and.. congrats on your engagement! 💖

I wasn't feeling very proud of this year but we had forgotten how much had happened until I put together this video! I know, it's lovely isn't it, too pretty for an attic really 💕

We're renovating as well and it's so easy to kinda forget how much time and effort went into everything! Especially when it's more than just some paint! I might frame a before photo of every room in the house and hang it near the door, just to remind everyone of how different it was haha!

jk jk, but all jokes aside, it's just crazy how much work has happened in the span of a year having watched it all gradually happen! What I'm mostly excited about for the 2021 reno is when you guys say "we've moved upstairs!!"

I commend the vision you two must have had when you decided to purchase this property. I had a vision of what my home could be when I bought my house, but it was no way in the state yours was. I've had walls removed and an extension built, removed a fireplace and altered the staircase and a complete redecoration but what you've both done is on a completely new level. I take my hat off to you both, just saying well done doesn't cut it, but well done anyway.
Wow! This is remarkable, you make it look quick and easy, however I know it isn’t because I’ve remodeled two homes. Lol it looks great! Isn’t great to know you did it? Thankfully your husband knows how to do it too, that saves a lot of money. Hugs and love from Texas!

Laura, please make a video on how you learn the skills like doing the floorboards and lining the bathroom, making it watertight. Or even learning how to clean the nicotine or finding out what paint is best to use. I search for all of this online, but there's a way to look these things up and you always end up finding very good reliable info.

So inspirational!!! We just bought a house last year(mind you it was built in 1953 so not nearly as old or as much wallpaper ;) ) and I've been doing most of the upgrades myself. I get so burnt out on all of the projects that need to be done. This just reinspired me to get moving on my next project! Love seeing all of your progress.
