Thanks, but was searching for a tool that would remove background *not* recorded in front of a green screen, and infer a green screen. Many video conferencing utilities support this nowadays. Does iMovie not?

A very pithy presentation that is much appreciated. I'm curious though, I'm a bit old school and was taught to leave 10% headroom in shot framing. I notice you do not and wonder if it's intentional, accidental, if that view has evolved etc.

Pls help me, I have used the green screen effect once and it worked fine, after a while I had to update imovie and my mac so I did. I dont know if that is related to this, but whenever I click on the green screen blue screen effect it just doesn't work. It goes back to cutaway even after I select the green screen effect. I am doing a channel where I sit on the couch & talk but wanted to use the green screen behind the couch as I will be doing a soccer channel & wanted to make it seem as if I were in a press conference room after a game. My issue is, I don't have much space in my living room between the couch & the wall on the other side, how far should the couch be from the green screen? Thanks for the tips!

Good question. Yes you can. By using the cropping tool. Please check out my Zoom effect video where it’ll walk you through how to crop and zoom.
Just resize the photo in photoshop
You can do that as well however most people who use iMovie don’t have Photoshop.
VideoZeus then use (ibis paint)(mobile) it’s easy and quick
I use a app on iPhone called “Photoshop mix” it’s not great, but it does the job
