Hey there - you’ll need to remove the white background prior to importing it into iMovie. There is a free tool you can do this with called Kapwing. www.kapwing.com/?via=brian
I wish the effect pictured on the thumbnail was described in the video. You have really good info in the video but I find the absence of the thumbnail photo info quite misleading.

Zeus, is there a way for me to; create a slideshow of photos (I know how to do that ) then record the video of the slideshow ( also know how to do that ) then get this small clip and insert in my iMovie that I pre record with me speaking but leave my audio intact, basically my idea is without much work to insert some pictures of me during my recovery while I am still speaking , I need to do a video this weekend for my work, inspired by my story , we are doing a campaign of 30 days for Gilda Radner club, I had brain cancer and i will be telling my story but want to remove the video of me talking and insert the slideshow recorded of recovery only during a small part of my speech

Hmm good question. You may have to apply green screen effect. Export. Import then apply Zoom effect.

Awesome glad to assist you! For the screen recording I place it inside an empty phone shell and place that on top of a background.

The image was a png file type which has a transparent background. See if you’re able to format it prior to bringing it into iMovie.
