Loved the Beatles & John Lennon's songs when he went solo in 1970. "Imagine" is one of his most beautiful hits. But he recorded a lot of other great songs such as "Give Peace A Chance", "Instant Karma!", "Mother", "Working Class Hero", "Power To The People", "Jealous Guy", "Whatever Gets You Thru The Night", "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)", "Watching The Wheels" etc.

The most important song that John wrote, besides Imagine, is simply titled GOD (God is a concept by which we measure our pain). I think you would love it.

One of my favorite songs by John Lennon 😊

This song was released shortly before John was murdered. I like the song but the video brought back some bad memories. It shows John signing an autograph for Mark David Chapman, who would shoot John just a few hours later. The video also shows an (as I recall) unauthorized photo of a deceased John Lennon. Many of us remember the moment when we learned of John's death.

Watching The Wheels is my favorite John Lennon song!It was from his last album that was released not long before his death. It was played a lot around that time. I remember hearing what happened to him on Monday Night Football from Howard Cosell.John's voice in this song is like pure indica! So relaxing!

Great song. "Jealous Guy" & "Beautiful Boy".... gentle soul we lost too soon. Ill never forget the evening after his death, students at IU gathered in Dunn Meadow to say goodbye - a sea of flames from lighters. This happened all over the USA 😢

Great review. Some great Lennon songs that don’t get reviewed often…Nobody Loves You When You’re Down and Out, I Found Out, Tight A$, I’m Losing You.
The bass player is Tony Levin. He has played with many great artists, but he was the bass player for King Crimson through the 80’s and 90’s. You need to check out King Crimson if you haven’t already. The other members include Robert Fripp (his band), Bill Bruford, and my favorite guitarist, Adrian Belew.

Crimso are amazing throughout all their lineups - but the 80s quartet and 90s "double trio" are especially good.

I believe you are correct saying that Yoko was John muse, but I think she was also his savior. John had a lot of demons and was not always a very nice person. Yoko seems to have have given him a sense of peace and happiness that he did not have in his earlier life with Cynthia and the Beatles- though not at all their fault. Yoko was not always well liked by others, but John loved her, so that is all that mattered. I gained a greater understaning and respect for Yoko after reading a biography "Yoko Ono: An Artistic Life" a while ago.Although she had some negative characteristics, she did get get a lot of unfair flack and blame for things she was not responsible for. A very interesting and talented couple. Bless you John💔

That’s the beauty of the Beatles is that you have time to choose your favourite Beatle, your favourite song your favourite album. They are the fab four they are complete. They are the perfect band and they did it with humour and love with the backbeat.

This would have made a great Beatles song with John's little Yeah Yeah's just like in early Beatles songs in 1963. Love this song but also makes me feel a little sad at the same time being it was on that last Lp right before his death.
Best song for me from this Lp is "Watching The Wheels" killer track you need to check out. You'll hear exactly where he was in his life at the time which was probably for the 1st time in his short life which was a great place. ❤❤❤❤❤
    Peace ❤

The picture where John's head is down signing an autograph for the man standing next to him is the night he was killed and that man is Mark David Chapman who shot him. Sorry to bring up sad things but whenever I see it I keep thinking what if he was with other people and not alone!

John once said he wrote this song for every woman he had ever known who he might have done wrong to. Instead of being an ode to Yoko, it was really to all of womankind. I like that sentiment.

One in particular is 'Mother' "Working Class Hero' (which you reacted to) 'Love" is another one of my favorites There are so many. 'Nobody Told Me They"d Be Days Like These' , A good one for now.

"God" from John's _Plastic Ono Band_ album (1970) is beautiful and powerful, but was really controversial and p*ssed off many people when it came out. He tried to put the past behind him so hard & cold it's shocking.

The Yoko hate comes from the fact that after John met her, he basically no longer wanted to be in the Beatles. He wanted to do art with her instead, he wanted to do his activism with her. Since John was the one that ended the band, alot of fans blame her in a way. Which is unfair. With that said, Yoko is not a perfect person either. She is a strong artistic and eccentric woman that might not always be likeable, so I´m not saying she´s a saint. But the blame for the Beatles breaking up is not on her.

It wasn't so much "what she did," as much as he put her ahead of everything else in his life, and everyone else felt hurt by that. He would bring her to rehearsals and studio sessions, and the others felt that was inappropriate.
