This girl may run 3 PR's in every race at the Olympics, the trials are the 1st time she has ever been challenged in her 400m Hurdles races. In HS relays races she makes up incredible distances for 400 meters under 51.0 seconds, she is going to be a huge star at Rio. except the pro's and their sponsor's will hog most of the time. I think she could win a medal. I'd like to read her HS essay "What I did last Summer" after the Olympics when she goes back to school for her senior year.
What a promising athlete and inspiring go-getter Sydney is! It takes a lot of hard work and grit to be competing in the Olympic trials @ 16yo! I'm excited to see her in action and celebrate 🇺🇸 victory at the Olympics and other athletics championships!😘
once she gets her steps figured out (she does a LOT of chopping) she will be a force. Til now, she could get away with it because she was so superior to her peers. Running against pros at the Olympic level is another matter, and it showed. I look for her to win gold in 2020, Tokyo
ranhill The girl just ran 50.37 seconds for 400m. 2018 World leading time,(by an 18 year old!) though it's still early in the season I think she'll be a finalist in 2020 but not gold medalist. 2023 IAAF WC and 2024 Olympics gold medals have her name on them barring njury.
Sydney’s Olympic Trials win ( In World record time, breaking her previous world record time) was as dominating as her margin of victory! She is also a great athlete to represent the United States 🇺🇸 in the Paris Olympic Games. During the trials to determine who would be on the U.S. Olympic team, it was the women’s events that I enjoyed most, and many of the top women sprinters in the world just missed out on being among the top three , who missed making the team were gracious in defeat. We will be sending one of our strongest Olympic teams ever to Paris next month. They are all comfortable in front of the camera’s & interview well! Bring home the gold, silver and bronze.
A strong young athlete with a lot of potential and dam good looking . I have no doubt she'll be gracing the covers of magazines soon enough . I wish her well
Anna Cockrell is in this heat also and is a recent high school grad and probably the 2nd fastest high schooler of all time and was world junior champion. We are in good hands for the future....
was she even breathing? This reminds me of the 10k meter - Ethiopian 21 yr old Deratu Tulu. Ran the heats lapped every one, powered the last lap, which she did not have to do. Was not even breathing hard. American and British commentators, said she won't have enough gas to win the finals. Well she lapped nearly all but the south african, (more than a half lap), was faster finished even harder.
+Flash MKE I made this comment months ago. When she posted it on her IG, best believe I was on that shit lol. She said she's already with somebody tho. But thanks anyways bro💯
BTW, she doesn't lead the entire race. You have to watch who jumps over the hurdle first and you can see that Brown gets to a few before McLaughlin does. Just say'in. No big deal, just keep'in it real.
Good point, SydDaKid passes Brown with that burst of speed clearing the 10th hurdle. She has to be in perfect position with her steps between hurdles to do that, Amazing at any age.
Six years later, she’s old and decrepit at 22. on the other hand… she’s broken her own world record four or six times in the past year. She has won the world championship, Olympic gold.In the Olympics, she got her second gold medal running a leg on the 4x400 relay. At this year‘s world championship, she anchored the 4 x 4 hundred relay, to yet another gold medal. In another 10 years, she will be the same age as the Delilah Muhammad is now. Her world record stands at 50.68 seconds. Not that much more to cracking the 50 second barrier.
@@Watkinsstudio facts are facts. Deceivers are not worthy of greatness. World records being broken shall be scrutinized. She would have podiumed at worlds in the open 400 during her 400m hurdle race. That doesn't add up buddy....
She didn't even look like she was running full out. One to watch I think, more amazing things to come from her I feel 🙂
This comment aged well xD
she looks like she’s jogging
@@richardgallimore5976 it aged even more well. Gold medalist!!!
🐐
She has a chance to be half way decent
amazing to see where she’s come from to break the world record 4 times and absolutely dominate the event and tear it to pieces 💪
Shes incredible and beautiful. Shes gonna be a huge star very soon
And she became an Olympic Champ 2021.
I think you are right
damn, she made it look easy
Finally a woman with class that gets some attention in the media. What America needed. Plus my eyes.#SydneyMcLaughlin
the girl who fell, didn't even come in last place....thats heart!
true but the girl she beat was slow af...
@@boricuafrican1 too bad you couldn't beat any of them
@@burntfiletmignon4663 good one?
@@burntfiletmignon4663 I’m f****king screaming😂 ☠️
Lol oh shit I forgot about the girl who fell
16 and blessing that track
she's such an inspiring young athlete!
She was here as a warning for the future.
I'm glad I got to meet her and her twin brother last year! Learned a lot from both of them at track camp
And now she's the Olympic champion and world record holder.
Sydney is GORGEOUS
Yep who else has RUclips recommending these videos after the 2021 Olympics?
She set a WR btw
Truly amazing gifted athlete. The Best is yet to come 4 her.
Sydney looked like that and performed like that at 16 😳! She must be a genetically engineered super human! What an athlete!

Thank you for this post!!! This is history in the beginning. Great footage.

Still working on her technique but 52.75 ....WR going down soon....then the 100mH WR too
adegbenro agoro
Now has 50.07....along with 22.39 & 11.07....and 52.75 400mH

Lol why not gold?! She could get the WR any given day (0.4 from her current PB).
Hopefully, we still have 2020 Olympics
Wow she looks like she’s in another dimension, what amazing concentration n beauty n youth, n flies like an Angel 😇
She looked so pissed off before the race 😂
She really is the total package....What a talent and that smile at the end....Damn...:)

I just read her book, and it's quite sad to know how terrified she was before this race. She was so young. Incredible talent.
Sydney is Truly a force to be reckoned with ✦
And this legend is now an Olympic gold medalist. What a fairy tale track story
SHES FROM MY STATE OH MY GOSH IM SHOOK
I watched the NCAA's in Eugene in 1962. It was a cinder track. Bob Hayes won the 100 yds, Gayle Sayres was 3rd.
she said "I'll win and make it look easy"
Its like when the athlete smiles.. i think oh wait, that's an actual person
finally.... some decent Olympic broadcasting n not that 30 sec NBC crap
She was a special talent then, she is a rock star now. Go Sydney.
IMAGINE THAT IS THEE FASTEST WOMEN IN THE WORLD TO THIS DATE IN THE 400 HURDLES SO PROUD OF HER❗️
Is that Anna Cockrell in lane 1? Now they on the same team going to Tokyo
Let's go Sydney! Jersey all day....lol. Amazing athlete and beautiful, can't wait for next olympics.
I've completely forgotten about this race. She shut down in the last few meters and finished with 55.2 as a 16 year old.
Sydney has poise, strength, & a little charisma......, she's going places
Aged well
focus woman, is a danderous woman
16 !
Don’t know how they ran hurdles on that wet track.
In Doha, she ran exactly THREE SECONDS faster than this! Barely 20 & alllmost the best ever. It will happen in Tokyo ...
yes it happened
Her whole family is great at running
Does anyone know what happen and way she didn't do well in the finals?

I ran in the same lane that she did on Hayward Field, that's crazy!
you know whats crazy, is that where shes from is like only 15 min away from where i live

This girl is made different. The future may be history for this event.
I'm seeing this after Syd just DESTROYED the world record for the fourth time. And also has Oly Gold and is world champion.
That's my girl❣️❣️❣️🌹
it's mad wet I would've slipped 😭
thats why u have spikes
Spikes
She has always has had more to give in the last 80 meters. Probably lots of 200 meter sprints in practice.
I'm glad she didn't beat my PB lol
I have a strange feeling that Sydney will do big things lol
She is bae
Women's hurdles look like fun.
Olympic champ
My fastest 400m without hurdles at 16 was 54 seconds and I am a dude.
She is fucking gorgeous

We have the same age and I'm an athlete too. She's my idol now :)
Well she could go into modeling too.
Does the prettiest girl always win, or do I just click on the pretty ones?
She was wearing New Balance but wasn't yet sponsored by them then?
Sidney, did you know you weren’t supposed to be that good at 16? Oh well, you won’t listen! 😀
and me LOL
I know it's an illusion, but even back then she didn't look like she was putting out that much effort.
She looks the same now as 5 years ago!
Eh not really
