      She was #1 in the U.S. as a ninth grader...a very young one (birthday mid-August). Barely 14 and #1 in the U.S. Are you shitting me? GOTTA be the first, last and only time that will ever happen!
      Huge fan of hers. Did you know she long jumps over 20' & can high jump 6'? She could easily crush Jackie's heptathlon record.
      Can't wait to see her kick ass in Tokyo, then Eugene, 2022 world indoors, 2023 in Budapest and 2024 in Paris...etc.

      @@efisgpr I wouldn't say easily. She can run a fast 100mH, a good high jump and a heck of a 200 as well as a good long jump but the other three events are just so hard for a track sprinter to be good at.
      Also something else - she won't be on the individual team for World Indoors, she doesn't have the standard. If she wants to run then she'll have to get that standard quick - like I mean as soon as indoor starts in December. She can be on the relay though.

    A month ago at the world championships, Sydney broke her own world record in the 400 m hurdles, with the time of 50.68 seconds. Imagine what she could do WITHOUT those obstacles!

    • @dennisrobinson8008
      @dennisrobinson8008 Год назад +1

      Her college stats say her 400 to 400mH difference is 2.5 to 2.7 seconds. So conservatively we can say 2.5 and it's 48.18 and being more aggressive we can use the 2.7 and it's 47.98.

    • @redrust3

      @@dennisrobinson8008 her split when she anchored the last relay was 47.99. So your guess is spot-on. Femke Bol has similar differential when she won gold at the European Championships.

      @koolhandduke4087 6 лет назад +4

      I've become disappointed as of late with Cortney Okolo, but she is among 1/2 of them that have won medals in the Olympics or WC, that alone makes them international level. Phylis Frances having beaten Miller Uibo and Naser for the 2017 WC says your wrong. That's why they run the race.

    • @gregoryparrish9528

      That was a rainy day and the track was wet. Shaunae slipped near the finish. If it was a dry day; I'm sure Phyllis wouldn't have won.

    • @waynehilson4417
      @waynehilson4417 6 лет назад +3

      You're kidding right? Irby went 49.80 in 60-degree weather, in a light rain, after a long season and McClaughlin went 50.07 at the beginning of the year in basically sheets of rain and has split 49-mid twice. They are unquestionably internationally competitive in the open 400m. Yes, Nasar and/or Miller could beat them but "smashed", if Irby and McClaughlin are healthy and executive decent race tactics, no way.

  • @Taedjaire

    I hate that her Ellis and Irby weren't in the same section running against a time is extremely tough she wasn't even pushed the last 80-90 meters of this race she could've ran faster Ellis could've ran faster as well.

    • @stevornrichards1380
      @stevornrichards1380 5 лет назад +2

      She pushed herself. Running a 400m, you run faster relaxed than when someone's breathing down your back.

    • @Taedjaire
      @Taedjaire 4 года назад

      Stevorn Richards that’s not true at all. Every competitors themselves say that it’s easier to put up faster times when pushed to do so. No athlete prefers to be out there alone because it’s mental. I work around them everyday 😊

    • @Taedjaire
      @Taedjaire 4 года назад

      @@godofnothing428 Sydney is a strong finisher and that's know by her coaches there's no doubt she would've been pushed along with Kendel to run faster. At the end of the day putting those two in the same heat would've produced faster times.

    • @godofnothing428
      @godofnothing428 4 года назад +1

      Tae Djair I agree, however with amateur athletes, this can be detrimental or just not make a difference. I run track and mostly if you run say a 10.9 100m in a slow heat, you’re running around the same if you’re running with fast people. But yea it is kind of dumb how they did it.
