The UK athletics commentary team is unrivalled - Cram, Hutchings, Denis, Walker at the moment, with Matthews, Storey, Foster etc. previously. There's a reason they use them on the World Feed as well as the BBC.
Thank Goodness - as an American I cannot stand all these SCREAMING MIMI'S like Rowdy Gaines/swimming/ and ANY FEMALE that announces Gymnastics!!!! It's embarrassing!
You could tell McLaughlin was set to break her world record, not just win the race. She had bigger goals than winning that race, she was going for the world record! Just intense focus. Her face in the introductions tells it all! This is what separates the great ones!!! GOAT STUFF🐐
Finally, we can actually watch this historic race. I really hope World Athletics fights to actually hold the rights to their own races in the future so that we can watch their events without having to wait for months or even years.
Sadly money rules the world. No doubt the US broadcasting company that made their demands paid a lot more than your average championship country does to temporarily own the content. I can accept some level of delay uploading legendary runs but 10 months was just too much. I want them to make better deal regards to that, but I expect them to give in to money bag in future as well to keep some restrictions
I just watched yesterday's 400m H European final, where the amazing Femke Bol obliterated everyone else without even trying. To see Sidney leaving Femke so far behind in this race is... unreal. What an athlete. I'm speechless.
One for the ages. This is LEGACY and a record that could last the test of time, unless she beats her own record. The speed endurance just fantastic ⭐✨⭐. Sydney is a very dialled in Athlete, in terms of on track, she doesn't waste excess emotion. It's all about her vs the track and execution. SPECTACULAR!
A ridiculous & historic performance that would've seen her finish 7th in the 400m Final just behind Fiordaliza Cofil's 50.57 and ahead of Candice McLeod's 50.78 & Anna Kiełbasińska's 50.81! Fingers crossed Syd, Femke, Britton, Dalilah & Shamier are all healthy and at their best in Budapest!
@sub2me543 the fact you don’t know how astonishing it is for someone to have gone faster in the 400H than someone in the final of the 400 flat shows you have no idea what you’re talking about
Exactly 💯. I love this commentator. What's his name? He is a legendary commentator. I've heard him in the Olympics and other World Championships as well.
@@ragas2845 Rob Walker. The World Feed commentary consists of Walker and other legendary UK commentators such as Steve Cram, Tim Hutchings, Chris Denis and previously Peter Matthews, Stuart Storey, Brendan Foster and many others.
A historic race. I’m a Dutch Bol fan. But this woman is Femke’s inspiration. Dropping more than 0.7 seconds off of a single lap sprint can only be compared to Usain Bolt.
Ein Video auf das ich lange gewartet habe auf diesem Kanal! Ein außergewöhnliche Leistung eines Athleten auf dem Zenit seines Schaffens mit nur 21 Jahren!!!
Did anyone else see she had to actually slow herself down? Second to last hurdle, she step studded. Imagine her without those hurdles! Wow! She is amazing! And only 22 years old, she is a baby (as experience) compared to the others. Just can’t wait to see what she does next.
“This is utterly staggering. Take a moment to savour this, we’re watching a once in a generation athlete performing at the peak of her powers.” No truer words have ever been spoken during a race. 🔥🔥🔥🫡
The picture perfect champion showing how to be the BEST EVER and be humble at the same time. How to dominate, but not pound her chest and exalt herself. Paise be the Lord for giving this champion to us so that other can see how it is done.
@neosapiens Nowadays, very few ladies achieve sub 49 in 400m at all the top competitions. It's like it's getting harder...😄😄 Only about 12 women in history have gone below 49 seconds.
The time would have been even low if she had not faced a small imbalance at the clearance of the 9th hurdle. Still it's phenomenal and couldn't wish for a better one ❤
Sydney hurdling with both legs, alternating until the home stretch where she only leads with her right leg. Smooth with no hesitation right through the race. Incredible!
The original was shot at 30 frames/sec, and unfortunately this was "converted" to 25 frames per second for Europe by dropping every 6th frame instead of doing proper frame-rate conversion. Frame dropping causes objectionable motion judder when the camera pans (i.e. during the race). Oh well...
The most baffling thing about this race is I would bet money that Sydney wanted under 50 for her time. That's how aggressive she ran. She dang near got it.
Start 22 steps - since 2nd to 7th hurdle 14 steps, switching right and left leg, since 8th to 10th hurdle 15 steps rhythm by right leg and 18 steps to the finish line. Perfect :)
Suuuuper remarcable suuuuper lovely indeed, wishing you guys a Summer season full of sports competitions, let them young generations start running for life, you never know how unknown super human powers are there hidden within, sports competitions make life worth living, you can bet on it guys
I believe she is going to run the 400m flat this year, not hurdles. Wouldn't it be something amazing if she can break the 400m world record? I so wish . . . .
Her 200 of 22.39 at 18 is ahead of Shaunae's results at that age, too! And that 12.65 100mH is blazing too. Even long jumped 6.25m at 17..... And classmates told me she high jumped 1.82m in practice easily!! A truly explosive athlete.
"We may never see her like again" said at 4.03...... ermmmmm, I think we will and sooner than he thinks!! Femke Bol is getting better and better, running 3rd fastest time in history in London Diamond league July 2023 with a 51.45......... she's coming!!!! And one of them needs to break that 400m flat world record of 47.60 though that is one suspect World Record from Marita Koch!
Femke Bol did win the World Championship the following year in Budapest. But Sydney McLaughlin was not there, she was injured and could not defend her title. Femke Bol is improving and getting faster, and yet there appears to a massive gulf in class between herself and McLaughlin ! And I suspect a fully fit Mclaughlin would won against the improving Bol:
She wouldn’t have raced against Bol this time though, even if she hadn’t been injured. Her focus this year was 400m flat. Apart from that, you would probably be right 😅
