Thank you so much for posting. I'm a 63 year old widow and I watched your video and installed my own new radio for the first time in my life. It's working great. Thank you!
Glad it helped you 😀
Not only helpful, but enjoyable. Thanks for explaining it in a way anyone can understand 👍
Bro.....that was the most explsined video. Total life saver!
Lol hella
Yeah sadly alot of females who are into this kind of stuff go to a shop where they do car audio installing and get ripped off for such an easy job just takes time but places be charging couple hundred dollars extra when it's so simple my boy paid for subwoofer installment 400dollars when its actually really really easy and people off the street with knowledge only charge 50-150$ huge difference
If you want a good quality cd player for car you need to buy either a Pioneer sony jvc or Kenwood because those brands have like the best quality cd players they lasted forever and they indeed WILL last longer than your cheap factory delco cd player and any other cheap aftermarket brand
On some real shit
Ty this is so helpful gonna got get the harness today much love man
No way to describe you and this video but with one word, Legendary. You saved my life with this video because there aren't many in depth tutorials on here, but you my friend have blessed everyone!
I still play CDs because I am a nerd but this was a helpful video thank you for the upload!
My car has a tape deck and i found some tapes that i play sometimes 😂
"Who uses CD's anymore?" Continues to call it a CD player xD
I use cd's!

great video - best I have seen -
a couple things -
a) make sure your wiring harness comes with butt ends - you dont want to mess with electrical tape, especially if you live in an are with wildly different temperatures over different season (midwest)
b) you need FOUR items to do this install ( not counting tools )
1) the deck
2) a wiring harness (with butt ends)
3) the antenna adapter (SCOSCHE GM02BCB)
4) mounting kit (Metra 99-3009)
I was able to get all 4 of these items from Amazon for $60.
Why the fuck would someone spend 60 bucks for stuff to just install the stereo tf

You should record yourself replacing the stock speakers to aftermarket ones
I’m so clueless with this stuff, thanks!!
THIS WAS VERY HELPFUL...especially for someone like me who is not car efficient with putting stuff together. I'm a DIY'er so with this I think I can do it myself. Thank you. I HOPE my cover kit is right for my model we'll see. Thank you!
Damn, Late Night Tip! Haven't heard that in a minute
Threeeee 6 MAFIAAAAA
I enjoyed your video! Though i must say, though not everyone can solder wires together, wire caps, or wire nuts, are a terrible idea for audio. When audio wiring it is important to ensure good connections, if you dont have them, you loose sound quality. A recommendation for those that cant solder is to atleast use heat shrink crimp connectors, this way there is a decent connection between the wires, and it will be waterproof incase you get moisture behind the dash.
I couldn’t have found a better video, I get to learn from someone with the same type of car!
It's been mentioned already in the comments, but for sake of importance people: please don't use wire nuts for car audio or any kind of automotive wiring.
If you don't know how to solder, the easiest thing to do is use closed end caps. It's like wire nuts but they crimp on with a pair of pliers. They're a much more solid connection and you don't need electrical tape that will make a sticky stinky mess if you ever have to get back into it.
Closed end caps can be purchased at any auto parts store. They are usually white and look kinda like those blue wire nuts you saw in the video.
Brody I have a 86 Pontiac Fiero GT 2.8L I love this car! But, this video helped me a lot I just started learning to work on cars I am a video game nerd at heart lol. Also Three Six Mafia is hella badass I loved watching them hang out with Bam Margera back in the day when he was younger on mtv. Definitely down with the era in which I grew up lol.
Couldn't believe we had the same car. Made finding the parts and stuff so easy
I just bought one with a CD player today I got some new boss speakers with it I drive a 2002se Pontiac Sunfire i guess the ideals are kinda the same way my problem I don't have a harness in my car them wires were cut but anyways thanks for showing me a proper way to do it
Nice ending with the "Late Night Tip"
Damn bro that’s a lifesaver I’m getting this for Christmas and gonna install it on my future 2000 Mercury Mountainerr
I guess that is not professional with the cables( I will do the same ) , I mean so good explraned and you show us every single step and corner . Just awesome mate 🙌🙌🙌👌
Song selection on point
Thank you for uploading this video, I finally was able to install my new car radio and this video was to the point and easy to follow, thanks 👍🏽
Did you connected the black together with one blue ?
"Late Nite Tip" (No Relationships) by Three 6 Mafia.. Funny you played that song, cause you have a wife lol.. Good video man
Bro thank you so much I bought a new radio to replace my crappy car one and this video is so useful. Cant wait to be able to have aux in my car
great video , well explained sir
So so freaking easy but better said then done .. much respect. Salute bro
Dude I like it, i wish you made this video about a month ago because I installed a new radio and my dads 12" subwoofer into my 2013 chevy cruise and that was so freaking frustrating! I couldn't find wires and I had to disassemble my whole dash just to get to the radio!! But after trial and error I got everything in and it works like a charm. Can't wait to see what's next for your car and your next video, keep up the good work!!
Nick Basel Thanks brother! Glad you got it worked out!
Nice
Great video bro, i needed to replace my WS6’s stereo. This really helped a lot
brooo much better than any of the other videos on youtube, thanks!!
1:38 that's what she said lol
Bro, thanks alot, you just made that shi look easier than other videos, thanks man
Late night tip 🔥🔥🔥
Sony head units/receivers normally have Output Error at high volume with the factory wire harness. Some suggest to use a higher capacity power/ground wires. How do you install this and still maintain the function of using only key in ignition ACC position, not directly from the batter?
Hands down the nest best video on this
When you connected the harnesses, you twisted the wires together and used an lighter? Or did you just twist the wires.
Thank you omg yesssss we have a Pontiac Aztek doing this asap!
I know this video is really old, but can you tell me how you fit that OEM bracket on your head unit? My BOSS 635uab doesn't have screw holes that line up.
Had one in my 91 S10. Bought $35 on Amazon thought it was Bose😂 good radio though.
when hooking up any kind of electronics home or car...always connect the power lead wire last!!!
I have a Boss just like this except it has everything including CD player. BTW. I still have a lotttttt of CD's :D..... Thanks for the video. I'll be hooking mine up this week.
If you use an amplifier you can skip the speaker color to color right ??
I’m looking to replace my 02 car head unit what’s the difference in head units? Why some hella cheap and some crazy expensive what’s the difference
Im getting one for my 1987 LTD Crown Victoria
I still use CD’s
Pontiac Maniac so do I
Me too!
C Deez nuts..
Good job grandpa want a saltine?
Triggered
Keep that Original head unit it’s always good to keep original part in case down the line you ever want to sell it for whatever reason
Dude thanks
Dude where were u ?? I missed you dude .. Lol 😛😁
Damn that dash kit is a perfect fit. Unfortunately for me (prius) i hv to pull pioneer stereo outward a little bit to get inside the stupid trim plate to push buttons and eject the plate.
Link to that stereo connector would be great

Do you have an update on the longevity, updated review on this unit? I’m looking for one and coincidentally came across this one on Amazon. There are a bunch of mixed reviews, including one from a person whose unit caught on fire; so it would be very helpful if you could give an insight on what was/has been your experience with it. Thank you!
Did you have to disconnect the car battery first? Or, is that not neccessary?
So my car already has an after market head unit, but I need to upgrade it. So will all the wiring be done and just plug the new one in?
All you will have to do is just unplug the old wiring harness from the radio and you will be good.
Well done. 👍
Should undo your negative on your battery when doing this
well you don't have to but its safe to always have the battery unhooked when working on the car
I've never understood why everyone says undo the negative on the battery cuz I've had shit arc on me after just the negative, i always just do pos and neg both
Where can I get wire harness to match my 2001 chevy silverado truck
Nice and easy, good video
Hi great video. I installed a single din radio but it does not turn on but when I connect acc and battery together it turns on but when disconnect it won’t turn on. Ground is also connected. Any idea. Thx
hey, i have a question.
in my car i have only one black wire and i don't know how to connect the radio. i brought the car without radio and all the videos that i watched were about getting out the old radios and putting new ones. you seemed the guy who might explain. thanks
Got the same one on dad truck trying to connect to BT but it says enter pin what do I do now ?
Sir u have my respect
Wait...was that Krazy Bone!!
Thank you very much!! It’s very helping
Me :))
Triple six mafia 👍👍
Thx bro some dick tip stole my stereo from my Mitsubishi eclipse
Great video! Well done! Thanks!😃❤️
Man it's a shame the old unit doesn't have an aux in or something cos I love the physical mixer xD
cheers for the video man helped a lot
Here's something weird- not sure if it's it's my new Kenwood with the problem or not. After having the Kenwood 2 din installed for several mos, I then installed LED brake lights in my car on the left & right sides. After a while, I noticed my radio receptions was sometimes not as good as other times. THEN, I installed a LED in the 3rd brake light in the back window (the radio antenna is built into the rear window). Now, everytime I hit my brakes, I lose all radio reception. I never heard of this happening before and don't know what to do about it. Any insight to this mystery is appreciated.
But what about the ground wire? These tutorials never tell you you have to install a ground wire.
Hi got myself a Jensen stereo with Bluetooth connected everything but the Bluetooth won’t work the aux does. Do you know why ?
when connecting the wires together on the harness, do i just twist the wires?
Can you use steering wheel controls?
TomozukiII nope at least not with mine an my bros but the previous owner installed both ours and there is probably wires that aren’t connected
Did you keep your factory gm cd player?? I am looking to buy one atm, im trying to get my 96 Firebird back to "dealer showroom" condition as much as possible...aftermarket car radios a just a big turnoff for me, lol i cant help it
Its 2020 and I still use my cd player lol
Thank You .! 🔥
Do I need anything besides the radio and the wires that come with it?
ayyyy three 6 mafiaaa
Hey like I got mine today an 3 hour later it shut off by itself an will not turn on the fuse an wire was good idk why but it wont turn on
Does the battery have to be disconeccted
I’m just trying to hook up an aux to my car or Bluetooth
I still listen to cds.
Can someone explain to me what the harness does?
Braydon Morgan it allows you to connect an aftermarket stereo to your ancient car. (If that helps) 😂😂
And it also keeps you from butchering your cars stock wires
Ayeee three 6 mafia
Where can I get those wire nuts at?
Life saver
I hooked up yellow to yellow in a Buick Lucerne and nothing and when I turn the key.
Question how do to put the wires together
And what did you use
Name of the song at the end?
I'm trying to install an aftermarket on a 78 Chevy Nova Ss and can't find the wire hookups
What's the name of the song you played at the end?
Aaron Maharaj late night tip- three 6 mafia
Before I watch this video I predict that he wont explain and match any wires...edit and cut with wires connected..let's go!
It's literally just "connect [this color] wire with another wire with the same color" how much hand holding do you want
anyone know where to get the bracket thing?
have a little problem... it turns on and says hello then goodbye and won’t turn on
After that song u played your invited to the cook out
Amigo al pagarlo queda encendido con la hora, como hago para pagarlo totalmente?
