You did an excellent video. You video overlays are great. I'm subscribing. Thank you.
I‘ve just recently purchased a 535d F10 and while everything is fine, once i compare my fuel usage to people on the forums and so on it seems much higher, would changing the diesel filter help with that ?
no. changing the fuel filter does not help fuel economy. You should change that to protect HPFP + ensure that at high engine load you get enough fuel. What do you consider high fuel consumption and how long are your journeys?
Hi. Nice video! But, can you please explain the importance of using the BMW diagnostic tool? It essentially precludes a DIY'er from doing this job himself, right? Also, is priming done via the tool? You don't show the priming any other way. Thank you.
theoretically if you don't prime your fuel system there is a risk of damaging your high pressure fuel pump ... especially if you will have to crank the engine a long period of time to start it up. The strange bit is that BMW does not say anything about priming in their service process. Maybe they don't see it as a big risk for a car that is relatively new. There is a big discussion regarding bosch CP4 HPFP failing. VW has it described as a must to prime the fuel system with diagnostic tools. I don't know a process to do it without diagnostic tools. Maybe if you put the IG on and wait and repeat a few time it will do something similar ... that is only speculation from my part. at the same time i know a lot of people that do the filter change without diag tools ... no priming ... it will be your decision at the end of the day
I changed mine on my three f30s never primed them never any issues
ist same place on f12
What diagnostic tool did you use to prime the fuel system?
ENET cable with ISTA D.
@@BestCarMods Where do you find this option/what is this option called in ISTA D?

Multumesc!
(approx 30.000 mile)
Thanks for the video. I didn’t see you install the flat black gasket on the inlet end of the filter. Does yours not have that?
Thanks
I think is has it, it comes with every new filter ?
@@BestCarMods
Yes, but it would be visible around the 1:48 mark of the video and isn’t there.
@@PonderingOne maybe it was on the other surface on the plastic part, or maybe it just wasn't in the box. I remember that last time, when I installed the filter I have seen it.
Acolo e o garnitură pe care tu nu ai pus-o!
daca te referi la aia centrala, cand am schimbat filtrul ultima data am gasit-o pusa.
