I was lucky and won a sample of this from Mash and Drum. I was glad I had the opportunity to taste this whiskey.
I am interested in two months from now a follow up on this bottle.
What do Jules like? Just wondering...because I haven't seen much that he has enjoyed.
William Heavenhill 16 yr Small Batch.
Interested to see what Rutledge does in the future.
Can’t find this anywhere in my area. Are you guys gonna do Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (no particular batch)
Jewels is the HARD LINE and I appreciate that. Ben is a flavor magnet....do a follow up review in 90 days! Thx for the great content!
Do you guys have Japanese Whiskey on the list? I’m interested to hear what you guys think of stuff like Nikka from the Barrel...
Been drinking Japanese whisky since 1994... Presently very overrated and poor value IMHO.
Try Kavalan instead...
Sourced is just fine. Does your favorite restaurant raise and slaughter it's own meats? NO, it's sourced. As are the veggies and just about everything else. Some of my favorite whiskeys are sourced. It's how it's finished that makes it unique. BTW, ryes and their spice are so much better than plain old bourbon sweetness, any day.
Perfectly stated... I'm liking the ryes and rye forward whiskeys anyway...
ECBP 12 year for $50-$60. I have a hard time with $130 for a 11.5 year 102 proof.
Jules doesn’t like bourbon. We need to get him a tequila channel.
Totally agree. I noticed in all their videos that Jules is consistently scoring the low side. He's what I call the spokesman for those who don't drink Whiskey so that you can know what noobs would likely say about it. :-) If I want the REAL score, I average the scores of the other three and leave Jules' score out of it.
Jim said in a interview it was sourced from Heaven Hill.
This proves my point about the guild members! In summary, since Jules didn't like it, it's not for casual drinkers. It might be worth it for collectors. For the rest of us, optional. Thanks for the review.
Great review fellas! If I had easy access to a pour I would love to try it but I’m not losing sleep over this bourbon.Cheers!🥃
Happy for the midweek episode. I wonder what you guys would have thought if you did it blind? Classic Jules orneriness. I don't think I am convinced to seek this one out. Keep up the reviews.
I think Jules likes higher proof bourbon because every video where the proof was over 108, he enjoyed it Lol
What’s your timeline for the air on the bourbon? 2 weeks or longer?
I’m 100% convinced Jules doesn’t like bourbon.
Change my mind.
Really enjoyed your comments and thoughts on this. Seems to me it's cashing in a bit too much on Jim Rutledge's name and history with 4 R's. That said, I'm with Dillon really can't wait to see what he does with his own juice, so I'm waiting before I pay Big$ just for a name. Show Me The Bourbon!
Completely agree with this statement and agree with Dillon about seeing what Rutledge can do with his own juice.
Amount of pour left in the glass speaks volumes! I've seen you guys drink more of some pours you rated lower than this bottle.
Dutch: I feel a little guilty giving this a 1. 0
The Wheater Brothers: Whaaatt??!!!?!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
if its heaven hill I wonder where my E Criag 12 year went.
sourced whiskey for $130 and you paid $145??? come on man
If you guys want to try another weird bottle that gets good reviews:
Wyoming Bourbon.
I think you guys can then coin the term "Rye-Funk"
Is this review on the first or second batch?
Cream of Wheats - is that the unique smell or nose?? A bit out of my price range. Root-ledge or Rut-ledge? Willy Wonka = my favorite kid's movie with Martin Bormann the Nazi bigwig. We want S'More Bormann!! Can enjoy two fantastic bourbons instead for that $145. CHEERS!
Noooooooo what’s with the sexy Brit lady voice over!! I much prefer Dutch’s going through puberty high pitch voice much better!!!
ap40 Hahahahah! Your comment made my day.
Hiroshi Yamashiro 😇
Kind of confusing that you give your scores based on you initial thoughts, then you are changing your scores to appease your peers... I guess peer pressure wins, and your initial thoughts are not really relevant.
I'm with jules ..not a fan of pepper in my bourbon..pass
Please get rid of Jules...
.....stored in my bunker ????
