Just threw in a sub, because you shouted out Samurai Joe of Steel Forged in Fire, Gruggs of Legion Tacticool and Scab of Choirboys Cutlery Outdoors - and because I like your content. I have one of the first TrailMasters that came to Germany, made out of good old CarbonV. This was and is my grail knife, it now is more than 35 years with me, and it has never failed on me. It's a beauty and ages wonderful. Great review, great knife, and overall great videos. Greetings from Germany!
Hello and thank you for this Video on The Trail Master VG1 made in Japan..! Considering the purchase of a strong and durable hunting knife, I researched different knives and knife brands, my choices led me to choose 1 Cold Steel knife, either 1 Trail Master or 1 Natchez Bowie or 1 Laredo Bowie (only 460 grams..!) I fell for the same Trail Master model, solid & light, at the beginning of the year, and when I had enough money to pay for it, the "made in Japan" became "made in Taiwan" in VG10 Steel always made in Seki Japan.. but I definitely preferred to have 1 ColdSteel in San Maï III Steel made in Japan.!! So with luck, I ended up finding 1 ColdSteel knife made in Japan VG1: 1 second-hand "Laredo Bowie" from the past century (1990..), the model with its leather sheath and brass rivets, with its guard and part of the pommel also in brass. Its "rat tail" system, which makes this Bowie knife lighter (knife from the French word "canif" / "k"nif" in French ;-), makes it very easy to handle, fast and precise in cutting movements etc., in background 1 very good combat knife (presence of the guard..), but less practical for "Bush Craft"..! For the handle, coffin-shaped and made of hard "G10" resin, I also rolled up 1 "stapp'in" camo strip, which improves its "grip" and protects it. Since purchasing a real Bowie, ColdSteel, very solid, I do not regret it, for 2 months, I have had the pleasure of being the owner of 1 Bowie Knife ColdSteel.. That' s all folk ;-) , Hi from France . Bien Cordialement ..! David .
Oh yeah! I also have that Buck 124 Frontiersman I believe you have on a list as well....Wait till I show the El Gigante by Boker with the stag handles.....
Convex Edge blades are some of the very best and that SanMai steel is phenomenal, that sheath is a real upgrade for your Cold Steel Trailmaster in SanMai. ⚖️💯⚖️
@@charlesjonestherednecknerd I want me a San Mai Trailmaster by CS and I need to see if I can get a sheath like that for my O1 Tool Steel version of the Trailmaster that I already have ⚔️🦈🦈⚔️🦈🦈⚔️
Really enjoyed this Charles, love the History, I always liked the San Mei pattern...if I had to spend 300 it would be on a sword...Thanks so much for the mention my friend, so appreciate you
Congratz! Back when I bought my original (still have it) Carbon V Recon Tanto I thought about the Carbon V Trailmaster but couldn't imagine using a blade that large back then!
That's awesome so many I have wanted but most come with crappy sheath and until you can put your hands on it how do you know if you like it. Kinda y I'm a cheap guy or well lower budget cause I have to be. Great video I will try and get a Fire it up Friday video out this week give you a shout out.
Oh yeah I have only 3 knives over $100 cause I am disabled and have been for 24 years, so I get it. Money when limited means finding knives that are good at a lower price. I then make them my own by working on what I want them to be, handles, polish, etc.
What a beauty! Really just about perfect as far as big knives go too. Congratulations on getting what you wanted; feels good sometimes to do that. Thirty years seems like a reasonable amount of time to wait on something hahaha. I love tennis grip on certain handles; the haters just don't know!
I'm satisfied you waited the 30 years. If 30 years ago you had gotten this knife you'd have moved on by now, but haven to wait all that time makes the acquisition that much sweeter. To fully enjoy, carry ... ☆
Hey brother I really appreciate the shout out man thank you so much!

Thank you Kong. I have a fondness of Deutchland from my nearly 4 years there back in the late 1980's in Heidelberg.

I am a fan boiy!
I am too in a way but they really need to up their sheath game on their higher end stuff!!!

Thank you Joe. I absolutely love your work.
I love tennis grip tape!!!!
That padded tape made it a perfect fit for my hand!
Just ordered mine last week brother. It's my grail knife too. We picked a pretty lady to fawn over didn't we? Many blessings to both you and Caliber.
Thanks it is a beaut!
Beautiful knife brother, and its san mai thats awesome! 🇺🇸💪🗡
Yeah it is. Now the sheath that comes with it needs some work...but thanks to marbles it's all good.
Good job Bro, I’ve always liked that knife.
Yeah, it is a great knife. Thanks for stopping by!
You give a lot of interesting details on these knives. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed!

Yeah I love this one cause it is a 1 pound razor that unbelievably balanced!.
@@charlesjonestherednecknerd I do remember that about the model! Actually, I don't ever think I have ever owned a dull Cold Steel knife.
Nice nice knife
Thanks. Appreciate you stopping by.
very cool
Thanks dom!
Very cool knife.
Yeah, it almost makes the wait worth it cause it is better than I thought by far.
@@charlesjonestherednecknerd yeah a few decades of waiting well worth it. Absolute classic.
Sweet !!
thanks Mike.

Yeah Chop, it was a bit long coming but I am a happy man with it! Oh and grip tape on a user? Acceptable to me!
I have one of the O1 versionsa, but I'd much rather have the San Mai one. I prefer the convexed edge
Yeah that convex edge is nice, and I love the knife.
A 9 inch handle??!!! Better check that bud...more like a 5 inch!!!
Yeah I fudged that up......

King Arthur HISTORY?😂😅😂😂 Surely you mean LEGEND?
Well its both legend in the stories and history in the fact the stories are from nearly 800+ years ago.
