No head voice here. It is NUTS how it works. It is an insanely trained modulation of chest voice that happens in Indian classical. Takes like 20 years to train the muscles probably. She started at age 4. If you look up "shreya ghoshal sings bahon mein and tere bina with symphony orchestra" you'll hear her speaking voice at the beginning and be able to tell how it all relates. :)) I think you'll be fascinated.
It's completely her natural voice dude...it's years and years of indian classical music training...it's tooks more than 20 years...she starts her classical music training when she was just 4 yrs old..now she is 40+....and still she is under training process..Indian classical music is a passion dedication...
Her voice type being ‘Soprano’ stands out even among 100 instruments playing simultaneously. Thats such a beautiful part of her vocal quality that one can sing softly but still can be heard clearly, with right music arrangements and editing.
No head voice lol. All natural. All on purpose, all perfect. No effects on her voice at all. It's literally like you said - she sings like she has an infinitely adjustable volume control on her throat and she's FLAWLESS. As for the "color" from the tasha, that's because this song is a mashup of the two songs - Sunn Raha Hai and Rozana. What you're hearing is the classical side of Indian music being fused with the 88 keys of the piano. We have notes that simply don't exist in Western music.
watching you change expression almost twice every second was a treat. 😃 It is so good to see someone really get the intricacy to the music and dynamics. Your understanding of music is so great.
Thank you for your reaction and analysis- really loved watching the song along with your commentary. Shreya is at the top of her game👍🏻 Just to let you know, this song, being MixTape, was a mix of 2 different songs… hence its even more amazing that they combined 2 different songs to create magic ✨
Shreya Ghoshal is just amazing as always! Also the whole setup and production is the best, surely top tier and amongost the most professionally managed ones. But having said that and putting aside everything about this song here, your reaction is very beautiful to watch throughout, especially in the beginning. The way you look mesmerised by the notes and the ornamnenttion is delightful as someone who is amazed as well by those nuances that Shreya does, I can imagine a flutist being able to appreciate the details in singing style and the dynamics of this song and Shreya's singing.. A flutist would know the sounds and techniques of singing in this song.
I like the fact that how she enjoyed the song with pure heart❤❤❤...lots of love to you...n this is a compilation of her two songs .....n you have a beautiful smile ..
May be this video can help you to understand the ornamentation..slides from one note to another note Shreya is able to do so efortleslly. video is: What is a Raag? from Anuja Kamat
As a flutist you should definitely check out Indian flutes ! You probably will be shocked to find how the flute also sounds very different with Indian classical music compared to the west. Indian compositions are extremely complex , they have multiple notes in between two notes , and it's rendered so effortlessly and quickly ,that you can convey the most deepest of emotions so precisely with even a single instrument. You should definitely check out the legendary Indian musicians. Berkley college of music you'll get to experience Indian music live and up close in person . Every instrument played on Indian musicial notes and techniques sound very different. I have a lot of recommendations for you but we'll start with just one . "Innisai paadivarum | flute cover by Rajesh cherthala "
If you want to learn about Carnatic classical music then you should definitely check out the channel called " Voxguru " by Pratibha Sarathy . There you'll get to know a lot more in detail about Indian music.
Ok I'll give one more recommendation , " jiya Jale cover song by KS Harishankar " (originally composed by legendary Indian maestro AR Rahman ) available on his RUclips channel called "KS Harishankar "
U must listen to " Lal Ishq" ," Aayath"- sung by Arijit Singh - Hindi song. Absolutely amazing orchestration and Arjit's soulful singing. Don't miss these two song for a trance like magic.
Pls don’t get offended nor need you expressive your apologies cos it’s understandable! Thx a lot for such humilcosbit sure as hell taught me a beautiful way to express despite nonsensical backlash which is just meaningless
Hi NitPicc, Indian classical music is a whole world of its own! I would love it if you could check out "Mishra Bhairavi Thumri" by Nina Burmi. It's the second most popular video on the Darbar Festival channel (which has a ton of great ICM performances). I think you'd love it!
Great reaction, my first time watching you maam. Felt sorry that you got a lash for mixing up Tollywood and bollywood, maybe some of my Indian brothers and sisters have a difficulty in explaining themselves in English or have been correcting so many reactors now that they lash out at newcomers to making this mistake, yes India is very complex and diverse that it's very difficult to please 1.4 billion of us. Carry on with your good work, mostly your smile told me how you felt listening to our legendary singer Shreya Ghoshal, however you got very technical verbally ❤, take care and enjoy the Indian content ❤❤🙏

I'm sorry for the backlash you got just for not knowing the specific language of the song. I'm sure many of us don't even know the first thing about western music so we shouldn't go around spewing hate, especially at those who are trying to appreciate and learn about our music
😂😂😂😂 who is Arijit western people don't know,,,, so don't supplicate here ,,,, matter is followers, who knows whether they are fack followers or not , anyway may be indian population
@@mky6645 relax bro, I know western people don't know Arijit Singh that's why I am suggesting to check out and yes he is by far the most talented male singer who has great vocals. What others can do in singing Arijit can do too but what Arijit can do others can't.

I’m a professional flutist and educator who loves listening to beautiful musical artists and appreciating them and their talents. That’s who I am. Who are you?
Don’t even bother - it’s nothing you’ve done. As soon as anyone non-Indian reacts to a video with an Indian musician or actor, they’ll hear how that artist/style is the greatest in the world, that Indians have been doing that for 5000 years, and how non-Indians will never understand/appreciate the complexity and nuance. Unfortunately, while most of the 1.4 billion people are perfectly normal, there’s quite a few with a deep-seated inferiority complex and something to prove, and they do it by cr*pping on everyone else. That’s just the price of admission for reacting to Indian videos.
This song is the best of her best. Mesmerizing and pleasing. Thanks for your video reaction. I subscribe to your channel now. Love from Pakistan. I suggest you listen and react to Coke Studio Season 1 -15 Pakistan (Specifically Season 14), NesCafe Basement Pakistan
