She is classically trained and sings in 21 different languages in india and her pronunciation is spot on. Indian singers are taught to preserve their voice and to not get tired or to strain their throat that's why most of them can sing through old age. It's not only about singing high notes in indian classical music its about singing the right way. Many western singers end up going for throat surgery like celine dion.

She is heavily trained in Indian classical music and he is singing the songs which are semi classical with a touch of western which makes these Indian songs so unique. And it sounds more awesome when a legendary singer like her sings them.
She maintains her voice by regula training and that is the key. No shortcuts and no 'Autotune' definitely.

    Man!
I really enjoyed that a whole lot. You had fun, Julia! I’m sure you’d like to interview or work with her or similar-style singer, just to explore the uniqueness and share knowledge.
That chromatic thing she did at 10:05 -10:07 was beautiful and just made me think of Jazz (in terms of colouring outside the key).
I’m blown away by her vocal control and mastery within her range and I am interested in seeing behind the scenes footage of the studio sessions amd rehearsals.
Has there been an in-depth documentary series on Indian vocals? I would imagine so. It’s such a massive and diverse country that it would be a real production to cover the major genres of music and language variations.

It is so relaxing, and maybe too much so at times, but that is a good thing. You have really done an amazing job as always, but the amount of work you have put into the channel these last few months has been astonishing. Thank you, I just have to say that for one your channel is such an escape from a world gone mad. Now, if I may be so bold and recommend some wonderful people and bands to react to, some of which I am positive you have been requested before.1) First Aid Kit "Emmylou" Live from the Polar Music Festival. (folk/pop). 2) Wintersun "Sons of Winter and Stars" Live Rehersals at Sonic Pump Studios (Epic Symphonic Finnish Metal). 3) Ronnie Milsap "Smoky Mountain Rain" (old school country). 4) The Gathering "Strange Machines" Live at Pinkpop Festival (1996) Remastered this singer Anneke Von Giersbergen you have heard before about a year or so ago in your Ayreon "Valley of the Queens" video she is the one you said sounded like Kristen Chenowith, also she is a major influence of Floor Jansen both of which are Dutch. Take care and Thank you once again.

Talking about Shreya Ghoshal, i always get emotional. What a voice, well balanced, top class voice quality, wide range of sound, exceptional tonal quality and after all superb control with deep classical knowledge and unbelievable practice makes her legendary. She's one of the greatest singer of this generation. Beautifully crafted creation of god. And I'm really proud of that she belongs to my state and my ethnicity, that is Bengali.(Our mother tongue)

Hi Julia! Happy New Year! 1st time commenting to you after watching Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater. The irony is that the lead singer James LaBrie happens to be the best male vocalist in the world. An ideal track to suggest is Metropolis Pt 1 which is on the Luna Park set. Many Thanks - All The Best!
