I have never pigeon-holed myself to listening to just one type of music, I listen to everything from Johnny Cash, to Slipknot, to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, to Muddy Waters, Jewel and 10,000 more, but A Symptom of Being Human & The House that Built Me by Miranda Lambert, are the only 2 songs than break my stoicism in the first 10 words and Im choking back tears!!! I was humbly fortunate enough last year to sit inside a tiny warm up trailer and hear the boys play this song, only because I knew another musician who musician who played on their tour with them. He said "whatcha wanna do?" We're both sober and had a few hours to kill, he also had his son out with him. I said "I don't know, they put this festival in the middle of nowhere, so we can't go anywhere unless we're hijacking a golf cart and that's not getting us very far. So he says let's go check out my homies in Shinedown and see whats poppin. "Lead the way" I thought we were going up to their bus bcuz they hadn't unloaded their gear yet. But nope we butted in on them warming up acoustically and were hit by a tsunami with this song and found myself crying and breathing heavy. They finish the song and turn to us and ask me, "Were happy you like the song,but your boy is the only one we see from other bands who cry all the time! Happy, sad, doesn't matter, he cries. " I look over at m boy J. And he's crying too! I know Shinedown almost didn't happen and I know how we can sabotage our own best intentions, so I'm glad everyone is alive and well. I know I've needed a few redos in life, I hope when you've needed a redo, the people you know were gracious and didn't abandon you or turn their backs on you. That is how we can sometimes become self sabotaging, we think by hurting ourselves, the ppl who hurt us with feel that pain and realize how bad we are hurting. But through it all, I KNOW that living goo and being happy are the biggest middle fingers to those people. No matter what, keep looking ahead, keep moving forward and for the love of all that's holy, keep those middle fingers and metal horns in the mawrrfkkin! air!!!
my daughter and i have followed them for what 21 yrs or so, we never miss them when they are in the Md area and YES it is about time they are on daytime/ morning shows

I think Barry is an amazing drummer and obviously a humble man! He gracefully stands there and looks fantastic while the the music plays. Nonetheless, Barry needs to shine too shinedown! When you have a Barry you let Barry SHINE!
Has no one noticed how Brent is acting stir crazy?? Watch his crazy eyes while singing and then not being able to stand still while talking. All signs of something going 😢 on. Sorry I noticed.
Yeah, I noticed that too. But, he usually seems kinda high strung on other videos & clips. Hopefully, No Bad Reasons causing it. I Love them. Wouldn't it be Awesome to just hang out with them for a few hours... I wanna know them... Lol
